I like that idea alot!
FT not bad, but I still feel its not great either, other kits seem to overshadow it.
Anywho, I’m always down for more love towards FT.
I hope they do this right….
I’d like to see more damage on AA and the ability to reliably apply conditions, especially burn, cause you know… its a flame thrower and all.
Man, FlameThrower Kit needs alot of love…
I’d like to see it as a more viable DPS option without having to rely so heavily on traits.
Is this the only new sigil?
Everyone has great ideas! With the new updates/patches, I’m currently stuck in Limbo trying to see what kind of gear is best suited to my play style.
Loving all these Juggernaut builds. Keep them coming guys!
@Arleon
I’ve been checking the build out and most likely going to run it. Quick question…
is Ascended armor/trinkets necessary? Not sure if it will make or break anything, but I’m hoping I can get away with just exotic gear.
As the title states, why does “Flamethrower” still not apply “burn” more consistently and reliably?
It doesn’t make sense to have to invest (unless you want to) into the second tier of explosive trait line for Incendiary Powder just to burn with a flamethrower. I understand if your not running FT kit and you want that extra condition damage, that’s fine.
Last hit of Flame Jet does apply burn, although how often does that land in a PvP, WvW scenario. Not so much of an issue in PvE, but I still think it’s strange to just tack it onto the last hit. When the last hit finally does manage to land and apply that burn, its only for a second. That’s not enough time to make use of the 10% bonus damage you get to burning targets (I believe that’s how it works, correct me if I’m wrong).
So if you want that extra 10% damage and a decent burn up time, you have to invest into Incendiary Powder.
Napalm is the only other skill that applies burn in the FT skill set, but I feel that’s still pretty lackluster as well. Of course you could use incendiary ammo, but again its relying on something outside of what a FT naturally does (IDK to me it just seems strange).
While I’m excited for the upcoming FT buffs, I still feel, IMO, there are some more things they can do to solidify FT use as a viable and practical kit. Still, I’m skeptical if those upcoming buffs will impact it enough to merit its use more. I’d have to see it in practice to make full judgment on that.
Anywho, that’s just my rant…
Insight, ideas, and opinions are welcomed about this awesome, yet under used (for obvious reasons) kit.
Play to win…
So when is this patch!?
So I was thinking…
It seems that Anet pulled a lot of inspiration for the engineer from TF2 classes (Team Fortress 2).
Which brings me to my actual question on why the FT kit (or any skill that inflicts burn, especially for the engineer class) doesn’t reveal stealthed players?
I know it probably has something to do with balance and what not, but If anything, keep it an engineer only thing. Maybe even just keep it to the FT kit, but hey, I figure I’d bring it to light and get some feedback on how you guys feel about it.
Also we should get a utility skill called “Thermal Goggles,” to have another way to reveal them… or make it a passive trait on “Utility Goggles,” hahahah.
Can I get an invite, please!
I’d like to see an Assault Rifle kit, or a mech suit/gundam kit that we could pilot, hahahah!
HAHAHAHAH!
I’m dying from laughter over here!
I’m down….
Where do I sign up!?
How about an….
Assault rifle kit!?
