Heya beefjus, do you currently use WTFast? If so, how much has your latency dropped?
Side note:
Seen the new ASUS RT-AC5300 Gaming Router? It’s a bit pricey at $495.00 USD but one of it’s selling points is: “Built-in access to WTFast Gamers Private Network (GPN) of route-optimized servers ensures low, stable ping times for gaming”
OCE has the same problem, and a thread much like this is posted almost every week. ANet just doesn’t have the time and resources to give us what we need in order to play properly. Right now, our best option is to subscribe to faster internet speeds and use a VPN service like WTFast/others. I have no proof of them not having time or resources, I just choose it over the alternative, which is them just flat-out not giving a frak.
Same here, playing from South Korea and average 200-250ms latency on average with the rare day of 170ms. I haven’t experienced any latency above 300 yet, game freezes, or any system crashes.
I’m still leveling so haven’t tried level 80 content yet. I do notice I miss dodging a lot of attacks I might be able to avoid – but I’m thinking that it’s just a ‘learning to play’ issue on my end. I’m hoping that once I’m completely familiar with the game and it’s mechanics I’ll be able to predict better and avoid getting hit as much.
This is not an anet issue. I play from S. Korea and have no issues. I even went to the philipines 2 weeks ago and played from my hotel with no issue. The Highest my ping gets is 240 and 140 on a go day which is what I get when I’m at home in S.F.
The issue is your isp.
Pretty new to the game and I’m playing from South Korea with an average of 200ms latency steady. I’ve leveled a Revenant and a Guardian to about 15 and like both of them pretty evenly but want to settle on one of them to level to max:
Between Revenant and Guardian; which would you say is the more ‘high latency’ friendly profession for Dungeons, Fractals, and Raids?
Thanks for any input!
I’m playing from South Korea and have tried using Battleping connecting to NA servers however I have seen zero improvement. I avg 200-220ms with or without Battleping.
Is 200ms too high for Raid Content?
Have any of you tried playing with BattlePing? Or any other similar program.
Friends of mine that play from south america use it, and do get reduced ping.
Hi – just started playing from South Korea and looking for an Oceanic guild with a large active membership.
Thanks
Just purchased from Amazon with no issues – thanks for the suggestions!

I’ve been trying to purchase the xpac for 10days now and it errors out every time. I’ve submitted a couple of support tickets and each time I get a response saying ’i’m cleared to purchase’ however when I try again with multiple cards and paypal .. it fails.
I’m almost ready to give up trying to purchase it. I’m overseas on a US Military Base so I can’t just walk down to a store and buy a physical copy. Anyone else encounter this problem and how did you resolve it?
