If those small balance changes are it… I’ll be very disappointed.
It’s really only a problem because it seems like Anet is very slow at updating the game other than the “Living Story” stuff.
Are we going to have to wait another 6 months before a real balance patch?
Ouch.
I still scratch my head over the fact that the SAB isn’t “permanent” content..
What a strange dev team. -sighs-
Honestly, the outfit/headgear separation seems completely arbitrary. Add an outfit checkbox and slot to the interface for each gear slot. Allow them to be toggled individually. Suddenly welding together pieces that are already functional as separate entities just so you don’t have to put a little more work in to the interface (after already putting so much work in to the interface) is a total cop-out to get the system out the door.
Don’t rush it, justr apologise, state that it’s coming, and roll it out with an LS update after you’ve dotted the Is and crossed the Ts.
Go ahead and make the toys endless tonics as they are the only part of the town clothing system that wouldn’t otherwise fit with the new system, but the clothing should continue to adhere to the rules of clothing, become armor skins, or otherwise retain every bit of its old functionality.
Nobody cares if they have to wait a little bit for this to happen.
This, this, and this.
No one cares if we have to wait a little longer to get a proper costume system. Do your thing, devs! We’ll wait!
When I first read about the “costume slot” and being able to use Town Clothes in combat I was thinking it’d be very similar to those kitten Korean F2P games that have complete working costume systems… You can mix-n-match 90% of armor in these games, no problem. Sad to see that it’s not what me and many others were hoping for.
I am not sure why ArenaNet couldn’t do something similar. This is a joke, really. Reconsider, eh?
Because 99% of the people playing this game are really bad.
The fact of the matter is that thieves are tied for most annoying class to fight in the game next to Mesmers. Guess what both classes have in common…
D/D is considered one of the most balanced and “fair” stealth builds a Thief can make, and I run little trouble downing players when I run it. D/P or P/D is literally GW2 cancer.
Good post. The Thief class in GW2 is probably the most annoying class I’ve ever fought in ANY MMO or any game for that matter where you’re fighting against other players. D/P – P/D is just… Huh? What were the devs thinking? Lol.
hey i love these threads! Watch as forum-goers perform daring feats of mental gymnastics to justify why dueling would be unsuitable for GW2 and why no one wants it!
+1 I would love for open world duels to be added. I would also love to see particle effects be fixed and all the other issues people have been complaining about since release. But at this point i’ve learned to keep my head down and keep checking achievements off the list like the game is intended to be played.
Hear, hear!
In for duels.
When are they going to add a dueling feature?
Guild Wars 2 is a fun game, but there’s a few small things I’d love to see to really push it into AMAZING territory for me:
Dueling
BGs (sPvP ain’t the same)
Rare mobs/notorious monsters (can drop rare items and/or collectible pets/mounts)
Separate costume menu/using costumes and GEM BOUGHT items in combat (this is a big one for me!)
Dual-spec
Customizable UI
Housing
Fishing
Permanent Content
I love new content as much as anyone but I really love the extra “features” when it comes to MMOs. It makes it stand out for me. If Arena Net was to add a few things from this list I’d be kitten happy. Lol.
Well I really hope they do. It’s annoying to be told, “You better do this dungeon now or you’ll never get to!”, especially when I’ve done the eight permanent dungeons so many times I never want to see them again. Having a new permanent dungeon in the game would be fantastic.
If ArenaNet wants to add temporary open-world, “dynamic event” stuff, that makes sense to me. But making entire dungeons—entire GOOD dungeons—and then throwing them away after an arbitrary period of time not only makes no sense to me, but is immensely frustrating.
THIS THIS AND THIS.
I fail to understand how adding temporary instances in the game makes it feel more living, breathing and dynamic.
Its really strange for a MMO to do this, and i wouldnt exactly call it innovative. Arenanet please; build upon your catalogue of instanced content, with the upcoming revamps of your old content it makes sense to add top quality stuff to it as a permanent thing. I love your ideas of a living story, however leave it within the open world where it belongs… the whole point of the LS concept is under-mimed when you include instanced content into that anyway.
Me and my girlfriend have been questioning the amount of temporary content that Arenanet have been adding.
Real strange to us. At least we have an explanation now, although it doesn’t make me too happy. Sounds like the developers have set their course, it’s too bad.
I guess we’ll see how it goes.
Hmm… I wonder when the Crystal Desert will be come available? Is that going to be temporary as well?
I am curious as well.
