Hello,
PLEASE allow the possibility of reducing the visual spell effects.
Soloing isn’t bad, but when there’s 5+ people fighting then almost all visual information is blocked, and you’re essentially fighting blind. I haven’t done many dungeons specifically because the few that I have, I could not see a single mob or boss… the center of the screen was just a mass of flashing, colored lights.
Yes, I have the various video settings that are supposed to lessen the visual clutter set. It makes no noticeable difference.
I recall that this was a problem around and before launch as well, and people mentioned it often. I stopped playing a bit after launch and took a long break, to come back recently, and this problem was a large part of that.
I know you guys take a lot of pride in your concept art, and rightfully so, but if we can’t see any of it while in groups, then a large part of it will never be seen by a lot of folks. Partly because of the blinding, and partly because we just won’t bother.
PLEASE allow for reduction of spell effects, because I’d really like to do more dungeons and WvW and stay with the game, but as it stands I just don’t see the point.
Thanks,
Jake
Hello,
I’m repeatedly getting an Error Code: 42:0:9001:3928 “Unable to gain access to the log-in server”.
I turned off my Windows firewall as suggested, but the same thing happened.
I logged in this morning with no problems and nothing has changed since then; the computer has been off for that time.
Please respond to my account e-mail.

Hello,
I’ve tried WvW once or twice since that post, and no-one anywhere has known how to do this.
I’m going to stop playing WvW completely until there’s some reasonable way to leave PvP. Getting stuck in a PvP-world with no way to get home is just infuriating. I’ve heard a number of people say that they won’t go do WvW for this very reason.
It’s a shame, because WvW is the closest thing to a PvP-situation that I actually like. I normally hate PvP, but this has a lot going for it.
Oh, well.

Hello,
I’ve continued to try to figure this out, and it’s possible that this happens when the mouse gets clicked on something away from the target on-screen.
If true, I understand why it’d happen, but I don’t remember this happening in other MMOs. I use mouse for movement, and haven’t been a keyboard-turner for many years. Keyboard-turning shouldn’t be encouraged, so I’m not sure what to do here.
I took a look at the options menus, and I didn’t see a targetting-solution. As I say, I don’t remember having this problem before, so I’m not sure what mechanic is different here… :/
Thanks,
Jake
Hey,
As far as I can tell, only cooking materials in your bags are available in the discovery screen. Considering there are 10s of materials, even at relatively low skill-levels, this is kind of a pain.
Could we get all crafting materials that are in your inventory & bank available when actually crafting? For other professions than cooking, some items have to be in inventory & some can be in the bank, and it seems like there’s little rhyme or reason as to why.
This would be a great-annoyance-saver. =)
Thanks,
Jake
Hi,
I can’t figure out why this is, but it seems to me that you can’t use both the crafting merchant and the crafting station from the same standing-spot. You have to take a couple steps one direction, then the other whenever you want to use the other of the two.
A couple steps isn’t a huge deal, until you have to do it over & over while crafting. The fact that the crafting-window doesn’t stay in the spot that you dragged it to when it re-opens exacerbates the problem.
Thanks,
Jake
Hello,
To those who suggested selling un-needed gear at the Trading Post, I salvage all that stuff to get materials to craft with. Ironically.
Thus, I’m left with the basic materials for crafting due to salvaging, but almost none of those fine materials to craft anything with. :/

Howdy,
The preview feature when checking out a dye-bottle in your inventory is really neat.
It seems to me, though, that you can no longer do this once the dye is in your list; right-clicking just puts it into favorites.
I’d suggest putting the preview-function into the known-dyes list. It’d be a real time-saver when trying out new color-combos.
Thanks,
Jake
Hey,
I find myself destroying a fair amount of items (mostly blue, I think) because they can’t be salvaged and they aren’t on the sell-list with merchants. There is also no price listed in the description.
There’s possibly a reason for this, but it doesn’t say what that might be, so it gets annoying.
Thanks,
Jake
Hello,
It’s possible that this may be a mechanic that I don’t understand, but:
In combat, the target that I have chosen will commonly get switched to another one nearby, often a green friendly. I was suspicious that it was me fumbling the tab-key by accident, but I’ve been paying attention and it’s not that.
This is a pretty important combat-bug, if it is, so I thought I’d mention it.
Thanks,
Jake
Hello,
Let’s make it a one-time procedure, shall we?
When I report someone for gold-spamming, it’d be handy for them to be blocked at the same time instead of having to go through the motions again.
Thanks,
Jake
Hello,
The drop-rate for Fine materials seems pretty low to me. I like difficulty in my games, but it’s close to not being able to level professions at all. It is hard to keep crafting within useful levels of your character.
An example: I have several times tried farming for one particular kind of material, killing the correct mob for the item (Tiny Scale, for example), and barely been able to make one inscription/etc. after a good hour of mob-grinding.
Thanks,
Jake
Seriously.
Come on. :/
No-one in my whole guild knew of a way to exit WvWvW besides logging out of the game, or maybe travelling for 5 minutes through the sPvP zones, or something.
Could we get a button to exit WvWvW and return to the spot at which we left the normal world-zone? Or…if there is one, make it a bit more obvious? :P
Thanks,
Jake
P.S. I like your game.
Howdy,
I realise that it’s possibly far too late to change this, but I prefer for there to be inertia while jumping. This lets you be able to jump-shot with a quick backwards turn, for example, while still retaining your forward momentum. For kiting & such.
With all the jumping puzzles, it may not be possible to change it, but I thought I’d mention it as a suggestion,
Great game,
Jake
