Try going to your bank, then use transmute stone/crystal, then try placing the armor directly into the transmute dialog instead of onto the character.

Yeah, I tried that. The transmutation area becomes red.

I sent a support ticket with some of the suggestions from this thread, I am waiting.

Reviving the chars is probably a bit of a pickle since I made 2 in the only slot I have available and then deleted them, I would need a very patient customer support person.

At 121 gold per set you should have put more planning into the outcome. If you knew you would be storing it, why did you equip it? It would have still given you the achievement without wearing the armor…..you just have to buy it.

Cultural armours are soulbound on acquire rather than equip. This means the character that buys it is the only character that can wear it.

To the OP, you should have read completely before buying the item. Also should have said the wiki if in doubt. There is not a lack of resources of information.

This game is so accessible in so many ways that I thought this would be an easy thing to do tbh, didn’t even think about it.

Wont be able to if they are stuck in the bank, that’s where the problem will be.

Yeah, I can’t move them to another char of the same race to transmute to a white set.

If they are now stuck in the bank and you have no way of deleting them or removing them from that bank at all I think you can contact support for a solution. However I have no idea what that solution would be.

I can delete them, there’s not problem there.

Since I wanted to finish the Fashion meta achievements I created a temporary Sylvari and Asura characters on a free char slot I have just so I could buy the cultural armors and get the achievement, storing the T3s on my bank and vendoring the res, deleting the temp characters after doing so.

I made an Asura today and while checking the T3 from the bank I noticed the set is soulbound to the character I bought it with and deleted like I wrote before. Since this also tells me the T3 Sylvari is SB to the char I made and deleted, I now have 238g worth of T3 armor that is pretty useless.

Before you ask, I made temporary chars because although I wanted the achievement, I’m not really into having too many alts.
I would eventually make 1 of each of these races so I could sport the T3 sets since they cost quite a lot for being rare items.

What to do now? Is there a chance this will change and the cultural stuff becomes Account Bound?

Oh well, better farm some more AR amirite? +4 doesn’t make that much of a dif and you can easily get it back.

I didn’t play GW1 so me chosing Kiel over the charr was easy since I was more interested in a story about something that is present in this game rather then the story about something from a game I never played.

Yes. I run guardian on melee zerg and move with the commander to defend the batteriess.

Lately I’ve been suffering through the lag just to get my Tequatl meta done since my server started doing orgazined kills.

I’ve done 5 maybe 6 kills and every single time I got a fine, masterwork and exotic chest BUT I keep missing a rare one that everyone else say they got and even link it.
I participate in every phase of the fight. I also seem to only get bronze completion on the batteries phase.

What am I doing wrong?

What if while using a Transmutation Stone/Crystal or the 1 time use armor skins, we had the option to mirror it?
Skins showing on only 1 shoulder could be shifted to the other, skirts with a crak on 1 side (Whisper’s Leggings (light) for example) would display on the left side instead of the standart right, and so on and so forth. We could also have the option to mirror things while previewing.
Is this something that sparks some interest? It’s just 1 more way to make armor sets look more unique, even if everyone is using the same model and I can definitely see myself just transmuting things again to see the diference.

How do fellow players feel about this?

I don’t charge for portals and always return any tips i’m given.
It might just be me, but I like to pass on the idea that mesmers are a bunch of cool guys.

Make sure your monitor is not the issue. It seems that you have ruled out most of the common issues but I haven’t seen anything about testing the monitor in your posts.

Check and see if your MOBO has diagnostic LEDs or screen on it. The small screen gives POST codes that you can use for troubleshooting. If you are able to get the POST code that the system is hanging on, do a search for your MOBO and the POST code that you are getting. Example: ASUS Rampage 4 Extreme post code 66. Alternatively you can use the model of the computer such as Dell Pavilion 8000 post code 02

From what I have read you have changed out the GPU, MOBO, RAM, and PSU. This does not leave a lot to troubleshoot. The CPU is one major component that you may need to check. Often the POST codes will let you know if it is hanging on the CPU.

I didn’t mentioned the monitor, something I should’ve just gotten out of the way, simply because it’s actually being used right now by another PC and I also tried it with another CPU. I tried 2 MOBOs on it but none has a LED screen.

I’m going to try a couple more things tomorrow but I’m pretty sure I’ll just take it to a repair shop.

I think you should see if you can test a new power supply. Cause by the sound of thing you now have enough hardware to make a new pc

Already tested 2 power supplies, the one i normally used and 1 I bought today.
And yes, I have a new pc judging by the new parts that I bought.

Try a different screen on your pc or try yours on a different pc.

Cause all you mention is the hardware, nothing about testing the screen itself.

The screen that I connected it to is working right now with a different PC, so that’s not the problem.

I thought the problem could be in the mobo so I went and bought a new one which gives the same problem. Should I still reset it on the new one?

A little bump + update here. I went and bought a new PSU, a Corsair CX600, and the problem remains.
Guess I’ll have to give in and take it to someone who knows more than me.

I brought the PC broke down into it’s components so the reseat has been done and redone :P
I checked the web and the power supply which someone gifted me is apparently a piece of crap and that I should get a decent one. Going to try that tomorrow since I’m running out of options anyway.

After much struggle and tears, I finally decided to seek outside help.

Back-story: I moved from my home country and brought my desktop (which was working at the time) with me. All parts but the case flew in on a suitcase with bubble wrap and anti-static paper all secured among the other items on the case.
After getting here, I quickly assembled it back together only to find it was not working properly.

Now the problem itself: I turn it on and nothing shows up on the monitor.

I acquired all the pieces that I thought were the problem, even a new gfx card that just arrived, something which proved to be futile.

So far I’ve tried with a different motherboard, processor, ram, gfx card, even a different HDD and the same thing happens. Pc turns on, all fans go at full power but nothing is displayed on the screen. Haven’t tried a new pc case though… don’t know if the problem is on the power button considering the thing actually turns on

What else am I missing? If it is something simple and obvious I might just die a little.

Just got past that guard by telling him I was the commander so I’m pretty sure it’s related to the personal story. Try to advance on it a bit untill you’re named the commander and try again.

It was common in Lineage 2, if both clans declared war to each other, to have massive battles over a world or raid boss, it made us keep an open eye and pay attention to our surroundings.

And what about the jumping puzzles? You go there in no pvp mode and farm badges for free? Or you would turn pvp mode on just to open the chests? And what about when an enemy chase you while you are in no pvp mode without knowing?

I never mentioned anything about turning PvP off in WvW, did you really read what i wrote?
The PvP in WvW mostly happens as zerg vs zerg. I’ve never been able to find a 1v1 situation without it beeing interrupted by a group on each side. In structured PvP, i get 1v1 sometimes but as it happens in WvW, someone else will come rushing to either help me or my enemy.

Not really something I’d want so as long as there’s an opt-out function (turned on by default) that would be ok… until you get your dungeon group wiped when people decide to pvp in there while fighting against a boss. :P

Still would take a lot of work i think though. A mesmer in no-pvp mode uses an AoE attack against a worm fighting a warrior with pvp mode on – does the warrior take damage? Can a mesmer portal their opponent into a cluster of ogres? Do summoned thieves guild or warband attack players with pvp mode on? Lots of variables to take into account and not something I really want the dev team wasting time on.

I would suggest that if a player with PvP off, targeted and attacked another with PvP on, thenthe first would automatically go into PvP mode as well. And if the PvP player was just hit by AoE but not directly targeted, the AoE caster would be safe.

But yes, I realize there are a lot of variables. I’m not imposing something, i just like a bit of spice in my sweet game.

Only if there an opt-out or if it’s server-bound and there are non-PVP servers. There are people (like me) that don’t like open world PvP or even hate it, because you can’t certain people stop from “fictional mass murder” as soon as they don’t risk anything in terms of a real punishment.

Yes of course, I’m all about not imposing on other players some features they don’t like.

Just play in WvW. I don’t want to see the PvE game mucked up with PvP elementas. If I want to PvP I’ll go to WvW or the mists I don’t want people attacking me when I’m enjoying the world.

World PvP is so much diferent from WvW because you don’t know when it happens.

I’m pretty new to how things work in the Guild Wars series but seeing as I’m a huge fan of open world PvP, I was wondering if this is something that is being considered to be implemented in the future and if not, then here is my suggestion.

Add a button, let’s say CTRL, that forces any attack on another player. The player who attacks first will get their name in purple and if the other player retaliates, they will get purple as well and 1 of them will remain purple for a short time after the PvP is over, as a warning to other players.

However, if a player kills another one who didn’t retaliate, then it’s name would change to red and it would stay that way, displaying him as a PK until someone else killed him without them getting purple/red name.

If you implemented sort of a “karma” system, the more players someone killed as a PK, the harder it would be to lose that PK color by killing some “karma reducing enemies”.

Or simply add the option to “Turn PvP On/Off” to the game.

I’m pretty sure some people might recognize this system from Lineage 2, which to me had the best PvP system of any game I’ve played so far.
