WvW is like a rowdy bar right now. The hackers are running the show and ruining it for everyone else. When people say “roamer” I think “hacker” since I run into so many when I’m roaming. They are everywhere. Guy ran right thru a 20 man zerg solo….never slowed, and his health bar hardly wiggled.
Those are called “warriors”, not “hackers”.

In my last 30 Teq attempts, I have failed……0 times.
Show up 45 minutes early and get in the good overflow. Don’t wait till the last minute to go there.

Welcome! Glad you’re enjoying the game.
My #1 tip for new players:
Turn your chat off and don’t read these forums for at least 3 months. It’ll be the best decision you make.

Ever walk into WvW and have an 80v80 zerg fight where no one can get their skills off?
The same thing is happening here to the world bosses. They all do have extra skills, they just can’t get them off because they’re bogged down.
Taidha is suppose to lead you around the ship, Shatterer is suppose to crystallize half the raid, Shadow Behemoth is suppose to drop an AoE similar to Meteor Shower, Megadestroyer is suppose to lava font half the raid, Ulgoth is suppose to floor the area with tornados.
But the bosses can’t get their skills off and a lot of them were designed for 10-20 people as opposed to 150. Like GolemMKII, if you only had 10 people you couldn’t sit on the afk spot because you’d get flooded with inquest.

Contrary to public opinion, I don’t think you’re going to see a WvW resurgence.
What I believe you’ll see is players start to cycle back into WvW only to find no enemies to fight. Between the 4 maps, there’s just not enough players to defend and attack even with a peak population. Players will attack undefended structures and avoid defended ones.
This was an issue prior to the expansion that, unfortunately, becomes an even bigger issue with a larger map, auto upgrades, and more objectives. People will quit out of boredom.
If they want to make WvW active again, they need to take EotM technology and apply it to the new map. Make one central map with overflows and combine all the servers into megaservers. Server loyalty is kind of a dead thing anyway.

Here is a serious question. What will be the general feelings from players towards the guilds that have sent in footage?
No feelings.
Given it’s going to be used in a promo video to promote the game at gamescon or PAX, a vast majority of the active WvW players won’t even watch it.
The very small percentage of players that will watch it will be the ones that submitted video hoping to see themselves or the ANet apologists (PvE players) that will throw heaps of undeserved praise at ANet and video submitters because that’s what they do.
The rest of us will simply not care.

You give them an update and they still cry about it!
They’re charging us 1200 gold to have this update. There isn’t a WvW player in the game that has a casual 1200 gold sitting aside that he/she earned from playing WvW.
This update is being sold on the gem store for roughly $175.
Ain’t nothing being given here.

It’s obviously exploit. Whether they do anything about it is yet to seen.

This is going to be a PvE win traders dream.
You can win in under 2 minutes if the other team doesnt defend. Can’t wait to see that on live.

Whenever someone programs truly immersive AI.
When the holy trinity becomes obsolete, not because of combat mechanics, but because of an AI that knows to target healers and casters first. One that knows to interrupt certain skills and most importantly one that knows to rally and support other AI.
When that happens, I think we will see the next gen MMO.

Same ole, same ole.

Don’t blame the players, blame the bad design.
Anything that discourages people from playing together or in your case, keeps people from pursuing the action is terrible design and needs to go.
Teaching and helping new players should be an enjoyable experience for both parties, instead it’s a huge burden for the veteran player and a condescending experience to the new player.
The ‘rally’ mechanic has held WvW and SPvP hostage for far too long and any decently run company would have done away with it a long time ago.

You think it’s bad now.
Wait till everyone realizes the only way to counter the ‘pirate ship’ meta is to out range the necros ie rangers.
We’re two weeks away from 50 man power ranger trains.

Queue on a character that doesn’t have the booster then switch at the start of the match to prolong them. They also stack now as well.

It is a two fold problem. The first is that the bugs persist that allow it and the second is the game has zero in-game admins. Nothing can be done on our end to stop it all we can do is tolerate it. Course for many there are limits and other games to play.

When you put two teams of equal skill against each other, one being full of solos and the other being an organized group, the organized group will win at least 9 out of 10 matches because communication and group cohesion play such a huge role in SPvP.
This leads to solo players being underrated by the system and group players being overrated by the system. You’d have to have a perfect mix of 50% solo and 50% group games to receive a correct rating, I’d dare say that less than 5% of players is properly rated.
Because of the way the system works you’re going to have a lot of these streaks where you win a lot of games in situations where your whole team is underrated then follow it up with a lot of loses in games where your whole team is overrated.
The only way to get consistent matches with near equal players is to split back up soloQ and teamQ.

ANet being trolling.
Happy September fools days everyone!
