I am going to get on the same bandwagon as the others who have made this comment but Matipzieu Kya.9613 hit the nail right on the head

For those who don’t want to dig through the pages (someone mentioned page 12), I found it by finding his profile and his post list here. I will be posting his 4 replies as well as the original link to the guild I am in just so they can see what excellent positive criticism he has put forth.

I can confirm too that this bug is happening still. My wife and I just got to Battle of Fort Trinity and listened to Traherne and the two NPCs and it makes the sound effect like it is about to go into a talking scene yet nothing happens.

We tried leaving the story instance and coming back in (same toon initiating) and it happened exactly the same.

We have done this step before on other toons, perhaps up to 1-2 months ago, with no issues. We’ll try it with the other toon in the duo and see if that allows it to work.

I’m another with the same issue. My mesmer has tried doing the mission three times now and I get disconnected randomly during it. The furthest I’ve been is reviving Mira and all three times I experience lagspikes where my abilities I have queued are flashing and a good 5-10 seconds later it catches up. The second time that happened though, it didn’t recover and I was kicked.

I’m sending in a support ticket now just so another is there in the queue.

Ditto. This is exactly what happened with the last crashing that they fixed. 30 mins, to the dot. I didn’t check the clock till the previous disconnect, 7:16 and then kicked 7:46.

30 mins later, disconnected again but the log shows a lot less this time and thought it was wise to post it.

I posted my log file on a different thread as I noticed my error started with 7 and not 3032 like this thread has. Same error so far though with disconnecting every 30 mins.

There we go, managed to get the log working and actually populated.

As others were saying, this is post patch and I also have the mobile authenticator set up.

Oh sorry, let me clarify. The mentioning about her email authentication emails was before the google authenticator, now she is just afraid of disabling the google one if it doesn’t revert.

I mean, I could have her turn her google authenticator off and see what happens, but that is just calling for trouble in my book :P

Either way, it looks like there is no harm leaving the google authenticator on because people who lack it, are being disconnected just like those who do have it and that was the only reason I would have turned it back off to go back to email authentication honestly.

No, I’m not having problems with the email authentication pre-using the Google Authenticator. My partner though has people trying to access it (yet the email authenticator was catching it).

I was just worried that when we take the Google authenticator off, would the email authenticator kick back in since it doesn’t ask you to verify to begin with like it had when the system went into play.

Agreed, normally I can handle a night or two without GW2 but I was hoping on doing as much of the event as I could (especially since today is my rostered day off).

I tried a second time but my log showed up blank (launcher loaded automatically post crash) and when launcher was closed, the log updated with the same thing I replied with earlier. I’ll see if I can catch it later and check the log before I hit OK at the error phase.

Edit: There we go, disconnected after 30 mins (tried even to repair the files to see if that’d help, no luck obviously) and once the client restarts, the log is the same as I posted. I can’t seem to get a log that shows the errors. If only there was a way the client didn’t just start back up.

I’m using an authenticator (set mine back up again after found out people without them also got the disconnections) and like clockwork, I was disconnected exactly 30 mins after logging in this morning.

(Looking at the log now, it really doesn’t have a lot in it, does it? :P I’m doing mine a second time to see if the log says anything different)

With the current disconnections occurring with having updated on the 22 October 2012 and having a Google Authenticator attached to an account (I’ve just noticed some people are having the issue even without the authenticator but still curious about the below), I was concerned about the workaround we have at present.

There has been comments, including from AshleySegovia (Technical Support), that the temporary workaround is removing the authenticator for now but does the account then roll back to having email authentication?

I’m concerned because my partner has been getting a LOT of incursions that the email authentication catches and if she removes her google authenticator, will it bend her over bare to the world or will it keep her protected still?

Getting disconnected from the server since patch.

I crashed regularly every 30 mins or so but since removing the authenticator, I have not crashed since then. I added the authenticator just today, so it was a fair assumption and hence removing it for now has worked I’ve been logged into the game now for the last 2 hours (minus need for restart due to patch)
