I agree, Tome of Knowledge should suffice. I imagine a new player would want to level a character from the beginning, to get the whole story. Apart from that, leveling in Guild Wars, really doesn’t have to take as long as in, for example, World of Warcraft.
I started a mesmer about two weeks ago, and was able to level her up instantaneously to level 20, with the birthday gift (can’t recall the name of it). With only playing less than two hours a day, I’m now level 50, and can get her to 80 when she hits level 65 with tomes of knowledge.
All zones have been Megaservered. Yes, this makes the events.json API useless.
event_details.json gives metadata about the events, so of course it still works.
event_details.json does not provide information about the actual state of the event, can’t replace the events.json call.
I hope so too. I was doing an update to my app, and I noticed event status’es on events like “Slay the Shatterer” could not be found when using https://api.guildwars2.com/v1/events.json?world_id=2013&event_id=03BF176A-D59F-49CA-A311-39FC6F533F2F
though it can find the event on https://api.guildwars2.com/v1/event_details.json ^^
There is a larger problem here that everyone typically ignores, including ANet: Why are we using GW2LFG.com? Why are we going to an external non-ANet, non-NCSoft site to find groups for the dungeons instead of using an interface built into the game?
Someone is missing out on something here, and it’s all on the dev’s side. This whole concept of using an external site screams that someone is asleep at the wheel. There’s demand for an LFG tool in-game, so why would anyone say that we’ll never get one. There’s a demand, they know there’s a demand, and yet they won’t fill it? “Oh, no. Someone else is already doing our jobs better. Why would we ever care?”
Dropping the ball here, ANet.
I totally agree. As it is right now, there are a lot of beautiful dungeons in gw, but it’s frustrating how hard it can be to find a group.
I feel like the game is flawed, when you have to use a site, to find groups.
Players like me, are missing out on dungeons, because groups are too hard to find.
A Dungeon finder feature, would even work much better, than in World of Warcraft, because we don’t have the holy trinity…
I hope A.Net will open up their eyes some day, and realize the demand.
Well, thanks for the input, hopefully anet will shed some light on this, in the future ^^
I’ve been playing some WvW with my gf today, and it makes no sense to me, why I get in before her, even when I queue up, after her. How comes this happens?
does it have anything to do with your rank in WvW or?
It’s pretty annoying I’ve been in WvW for like 30 minutes now, and she hasn’t been able to join me yet

Hi there
I’m creating a small application in C# that lets me control my character with my joystick. This applications sends keystrokes to the client to turn around and to use abilities, I was wondering if thi swas going to be an issue, since this is how many bots work, and I don’t want to loose my account on something like this?
So am I allowed to send keystrokes to the client, through another application?
Cheers

I’ve been running Windows 8 since they released the preview, and I’m having no problem with my cursor in GW2
