I’ve washed my hands clean of the class (only class I enjoy playing in GW2), and the game. I haven’t logged in since those last changes went into place, and won’t log back in until the devs finally stop screwing over the mesmer.
This last patch sealed the deal for me – I’m done. I’ve been playing less and less after each patch, since Anet nefs the crap out of Mesmers each time.
Its ridiculous and not fun.
Anet needs to understand that fewer and fewer people will trust them after they behave this way for such a long time.
I don’t think I’ll purchase another game from them – they are too frustrating to deal with in this situation.
Mesmers were the only class I enjoyed playing in GW2 – tried them all. I have no desire to keep putting my precious time into this character, when instead of getting more powerful as I level out, I just become more and more mediocre compared to other classes.
Screw this, I’m going home.
My thoughts on the Mesmer class is that it was a brilliant design – one of the best classes that I’ve picked compared to any MMO that I’ve played.
Until the Nerfing Spriral of Doom began. Every single patch, Anet nerfs the Mesmer more and more, until we’re nothing left but portal-bots in team play.
We suck at PvE, we suck horribly now at WvWvW. And we can hold our own in sPvP, which I don’t have any interest in whatsoever.
In conclusion: Mesmer was a class that shined like a beacon in a vast pool of mediocrity. Now after all the nerfs, they are just a steaming pile of dog poo.
Can anyone pass along some good MMO’s for people that enjoy classes like the Mesmer? I loved the Mesmer before Anet F’d it all up. Now its a steaming pile of BS.
Any other fun MMOs that treat magic classes better than Anet?
Cya GW2 and Anet. My GW2 account has slowly been collecting dust since the last Mesmer nerfs. I’ve been checking the forums for new patch notes, and this just finalized that opinion. I’m looking for a real MMO, not this BS.
More thought needs to be put into patches by Anet concerning the direction of Mesmers in PvE. I don’t play PvP – only PvE, and many others are like me. Mesmers are the only class that has been fun to me in this game. It seems Anet just wants a bunch of sword and axe swinging ’ kitten running around, an the magic using classes are there for sword fodder.
Screw this, I’m off to find a game that doesn’t penalize me for not wanting to bash other people with a big hammer.

I’m almost lvl 60 on my main, and already grumble at TP costs. I can’t stand trudging through the game world, walking through crap I’ve already completed, in order to reach a vista I forgot. I like the game and all, but I’m not a fanboy that is dying to see every grain of sand in it…
I am dreading reaching 80 for this reason. I like the flexibility of moving across the game world when needed. I don’t like being penalized so harshly for it. To be honest, it will probably be one of those little nagging reasons for me to stop playing in the long run.
Its not the end of the world… Diversify – get some other games to play if you need. You can’t just sit there railing at Anet to build a better game. What you have is what you get, barring future expansions.
Do what I do, pick up a couple cheap games on Steam. Torchlight 2 is excellent for the price, and I’m loving Dishonored. I log in every once and a while with my mesmer, until I get kitten off that I keep getting nerfed… then back to another game. GW2 is slowly gathering dust on my hard drive… Thanks Anet!!! On to new things!
