I imagine some accidentally link an item in chat, I know I sometimes do Often when I try to re-stack items, for which I always seem to forget the key combos for and then I see the chat filled with links to the items I tried to re-stack… oooops

Yes, I totally agree. Having a job means at least 8 hours a day less playtime. So, decisions have to be made. Besides having fun, playing with different characters, gathering, dynamic events, dailies, monthlies etc .. There are still many other things left for me to explore, eg Mystic Forge, lvling crafts to max, 50% of the rest of the worldmap, I haven’t been to any dungeons yet and a lot lot more to learn that is totally new to me. These are the things I’ve chosen not to do yet, simply because of time.

And then there are these temporary content/events that I don’t understand. They come and I hadn’t had any time to get into it. And by the time I get into it, it’ll be finished by then…

There was 1 event I got into to but a little too late, the one where one could get the nice looking wings for 100k candy things. I was enjoying it, only to find out that I only had a few weeks left to get another 90k candy pieces, which was impossible for me. Because it does take some effort to get into something new (perhaps it’s to do with my age) and it’s just no fun for me knowing that I set myself up for failure like with the 100k candy things, I decided to just ignore all the temporary content/events based on this experience.

I understand it’s not easy to get a good balance ingame between full-time gamers and full-time workers, especially in Summer holiday. Having experienced what it is like to be a full-time gamer with another game, this is my take on it: It is easier for a full-time gamer to sit out an event it doesn’t like and do something else ingame till the next event whereas it’s not easy for a full-time worker to do and event properly.

Perhaps Anet will take it slower now that school has started..

You can mystic Forge karma items and then Salvage the result I believe.

Apart from that you can craft tier 1 items with all that spare materials you get while running the Champ Train in Queensdale and easily make fine items (torches are good) to easily get these Essence items if you want a quick boost.

I made a few hundred of these myself last night from all the spare copper, logs, leathers and clothss I had been hoarding for some time and managed to raise myself a good 6% luck.

6% extra, way to go!

I think I might have some leftovers as well and I’ll definitely go on a gathering trip soon to craft myself a few salvageable items.

I usually only salvage salvageable items. Salvaging gear I only really started doing since the MF change hence I could not know that karma gear isn’t salvageable, I thought it was a bug

OP was likely trying to exploit, buying 20 karma lvl 2 blue items and hoping he could get tons of luck for cheap. For once the devs had something in place to prevent that kind of ridiculousness.

Interesting take you have on this. How can something be an exploit if the description reads “fine and masterwork” items which I’m trying to salvage, no matter how I get it.

As the previous poster stated perfectly, your logic astounds me.

So.. I bought a bunch of karma ‘fine’ items only to find out that it can’t be salvaged.

The release notes say: “Salvaging fine and masterwork items now produces Essence of Luck.”

Is this considered a bug or are karma items excluded from salvaging in general?

I’ve not done the balloons in Queensdale with any of my characters either and yet every chest in the tower is open and no loot appear. The same goes for towers in other zones.

Thanks Esplen .. this was really a head scratcher for me seeing that the item was neither soul/account-bound and yet not sell-able.

I’ll take this into account the next time I upgrade items ..

I had a few pieces of gear which were neither soul/account bound, yet I couldn’t sell it in BLTC. Is this because I put a rune/pebble/gem/sigil/jewel in it to upgrade?

I finally was ready to try the keg tossing for the 1st time and even though the NPC made it sound I could… I could not!

So, a small suggestion in detail is to make whatever NPC’s say comply what they say after you talk to them.

Brewer NPC in Hoelbraksays:
“Ever want to learn the fine art of keg tossing? Come and talk to me. I’ll show you what to do!”

I talk to him and the answer I get:
“Unfortunately no games are played today. Please return later in the week.”

This is btw the only one I found so far .. not a big of deal but just an FYI.

That is fair enough. I however don’t just accept it if I haven’t checked to see what other options there are for me. As I’m not a GW2 guru there may be options or ways I’m missing and the forum is an excellent way to get this info.

My mentioning about not having enough time may come accross as “I want everything without putting effort into it” .. but seriously, this is to show that I’m putting time into it but simply can’t put any more time into it (I could only wish). I’m already putting more hours into this game that I would normally spend on projects. Yes I know…stupid.

And it is a shame that not enough time equals not getting the better rewards. A bit like a punishment for those who don’t have a sea of time but are still dedicated and committed to this 1 game.

On the other hand I can understand, if one plays a lot, it feels unfair when casual players can get the same things with ease.

Anyways.. I got my answer. It’s grinding and grinding, whether it’s for gold, the 100k Zhaitaffy or mobs.

How much effort..? I’m putting effort in.. but the amount of effort is subjective. .. but I can’t put more effort in it simply because of work etc.

I wish there was a different way for casual players to get these things that doesn’t involve money .. as we simply don’t have the time to play a lot for grinding

I’ve killed quite a few mobs since the start of the event but no luck so far.. and again, quite a few is subjective. The amount of mobs I killed is probably nothing compared to a full time player.

Ok.. rant over..

I finally managed to get the Shattered Dragon Wings and, not knowing how they looked like till I received them, I am dissapointed with it. I thought it would look as cool as the Holographic ones.

Now.. I’d love to get 100.000 of these Zhaitaffy’s but really, I don’t have the time for this. My time of spending every second of my free time to a game is long over. How on earth can I get 100k of these Zhaitaffy’s?

Yes I can buy them from the auction but that means I lose all my gold.. and these coins don’t come easy for someone who doesn’t play as much to be able to grind and grind.

Is there any other way for us casual players?

I was definitely at the end.. I know that because I followed Dulfy’s tutorials (I don’t the time and patience to figure everything out myself :s) and the very 1st time I did these JPs according to her tuts there definitely were chests.

The JPs without a chest were Wall Breach Blitz, Grendich Gamble, King Jalis’s Refuge (which I’ve seen many people reported this as bug already). The last time I finished these 3 JPs was about a week ago.

The above chestless-JPs did register in my monthly Puzzle Jumper completions.. so, I sense these all might be a bug.. I don’t know..

Recently I started the JPs and I was under the impression that the JP’s could be re-jumped once per day and that the chests at the end would also appear every .. but some actually have no chest.

.. is this a random thing, a bug or do some JPs simply have no more chest rewards once already finished in the past?

yup .. happend to me and my girl too. We were looking forward to opening the chest..

Gandara too.. waiting for 20 min .. clicking her.. attacking her.. no reaction other than her usual babbling :p

But yes, please fix asap so I can finish this zone and nt having to come back here for this 1 skill challenge.. ty
