Can we have enemy cast bars please?

I have 2 theorys for why this migth be ok:

1) Cast bars shoudn’t display the name of the skill being used.

2) This would be good for people who have lower end FPS, since seeing the animations can be very difficult.

3) There can be an option to have it on or off.

Yay or nay?

Just a slight side note:
I’ve always wondered why the Mesmers don’t have an Illusion summoning Elite skill.
Like “Illusionary Armada” or whatever name you want to call it.

It would summon maybe 5 randon phantasms that last 6sec that just go all out of your target, or all enemies around you.

Yay or nay?

Like I said, just a thought…

Actually, this might hlep some people. Alot of people have different playstyles, like myself. I think this could help people who have issues with mouse control, whether from a faulty device, or if the person doesn’t use a mouse alot.

It could be easily done.

Crafting Seal of Approval

A line in the description for any crafted item naming the maker of the product. i.e. “Forged by ______” “Cooked (or baked) by ________” “Crafted by _______”. Perhaps the verb used would have something extra depending on the level of profession. i.e. Cooked to perfection by ________, Intricately crafted by ________ and so on.

Things I don't understand..

in Guardian

-Guardian who doesn’t use virtues at all.

The only one I pop regularly is justice. I’ll do courage when I feel it’s needed, but I often won’t pop resolve unless I need the personal heal from it because it takes away the party regen.

But the CD on justice is relatively low, so it’s generally fine to pop that one quite often, especially if you get extra bonuses from traits.

I use all 3 personally. Justice and Courage usually right away, but sometimes I hold off on Courage for things I know are comming, like say, CoF P1 Legendary Searing Effigys’ massive AoE attack.

I have Resolve traited to remove 3 conditions, so I save that for group cleansing, or emergency healing.

Justice is the only Virtue I don’t trait towards, but I still use it for the sake of extra damage coming out of my group.

Fix sword #1 please

in Ranger

From what I know, 1H Sword for Ranger is supposed to be a mobile weapon (and it is)

However, the the fact that we cannot dodge out of the auto attack is kind of frustration.
Not using Hornet’s Sting or Serpent’s Strike, they have cast times, I get that.

But the dodge rolls?

I think we need the ability to dodge roll OUT of our auto attack animations.

Oh, and please don’t say “Just turn off auto attack!” It’s clunky, it’s not fun, and most of all, it’s annoying.
If you do it, go for it. Not all of us want to be clicking on a button forever…

I don’t find it to be mobile. As the OP said, sword has no gap closer, the autoattack chain root you in place with autoattack on and make you jump around uncontrollably if you turn it off.
I’d like to use this weapon, i read every advice from the famous ones on here and watched every video i could find about the tricks. I turned off autoattack, then i turned it on, the result is always the same, i cannot control my toon. And I HATE it.

I think it definetly need some improvement.

I meant mobile as in dancing in and out of the enemy’s range. A gap closer might break the weapon in my opinion, but that’s just me I guess, no biggie.

Actually, Serpent’s Strike can gap close a tad, and the auto attack does chase people on its own if they try and run, because of Kick’s Cripple and Leaps…well, leap.

I love 1H Sword, I just want to dodge out of its’ auto attack is all.

[New Idea] Dagger as New Main hand Weapon

in Ranger

Posted by: Jin Lightning.9820

Jin Lightning.9820

Personally, like it’s offhand counterpart, I think main hand Dagger should be melee focused.
Here:
1) Tiger Claw: Chain Attack: 2 Strikes, then a Weakness on 3rd Chain.
2) Wildcat Frenzy: A rapid series of swift attacks, graning Fury.
3) Cougar Assault: 1 Strike with Dagger, then a Spirit Cougar appears and swipes at foes legs, Crippling them (like on Greatswords 2 skill with the Spirit Bear).

Yay or Nay?

1H Sword Buff Idea

in Guardian

Posted by: Jin Lightning.9820

Jin Lightning.9820

Honestly, I think EVERY weapon the Guardian has should have a symbol of sorts.
I mean:
Hammer: Protection
Greatsword: Retaliation
Mace: Regeneration
Staff: Swiftness

No symbols for Might or Fury.
Maybe Might can come off the Scepter somehow?

Ok, I know there’s 100+ people talking about this, so I’ll be brief.

For Flashing Blade, make it drop a Symbol when you arrive at your target that maybe gives Fury?

Gamepad/Controller Compatability

I dunno about everyone else, but I always prefer a controller to play my games, PC or otherwise. I think Guild Wars 2 can easily be played with a controller.

Here, let’s say its an Xbox 360 controller.

Possible control scheme:

Left Thumbstick: Movement
Click Left Thumbstick: Toggle Walk
Right Thumbstick: Camera Angle
Click Right Thumbstick: Look Behind or Turn 180
Y Button: Switch Weapons
X Button: Use/Interact
A Button: Jump
B Button: Stow/Draw Weapons
Right Bumper: Dodge
Right Trigger: Weapon Skill 1/Auto Attack
Left Trigger: Hold to Open Radial Menu (Weapon Skills, Class Mechanics)
Left Trigger+Y Button: Weapon Skill 2
Left Trigger+B Button: Weapon Skill 3
Left Trigger+X Button: Weapon Skill 4
Left Trigger+A Button: Weapon Skill 5
Left Trigger+D-Pad Up: Class Mechanic 1 (F1)
Left Trigger+D-Pad Right: Class Mechanic 2 (F2)
Left Trigger+D-Pad Left: Class Mechanic 3 (F3)
Left Trigger+D-Pad Down: Class Mechanic 4 (F4)
Left Trigger+Right Trigger: Elite Skill
Left Bumper: Hold For Radial Menu (Utilities)
Left Bumper+Y Button: Healing Skill
Left Bumper+B Button: Utility 1
Left Bumper+X Button: Utility 2
Left Bumper+A Button: Utility 3
D-Pad Up: Target Priority Target
D-Pad Left: Next Target
D-Pad Right: Previous Target
D-Pad Down: Nearest Target
Back Button: Call Target

This is just an idea, hopefully doable.

Any changes, feedback? Did I miss a button?

^_^

Robert Hrouda on pets in dungeons

Jin Lightning.9820

Pet dodge when the Ranger dodges? Who really thinks that is a good idea?

I sure as hell do not want to be the only class forced to blow their stamina due to stupid pet AI or their inability to not get destroyed by anything and everything that isn’t a singular white level 80 mob in the open world. Okay, I exaggerate (only a bit, mind you), but my point stands.

That has to be one of the dumbest suggestions I’ve ever heard (no offense to anyone), and I can’t even believe more than one single person thinks that it is a good idea.

If you don’t mean to give offense, than don’t say things that can easily be taken with offense. Just because the idea wouldn’t solve the problem, doesn’t mean it can’t be a springboard for other ideas.
“A way to make pets dodge would be good” is what I took away from it. What if a button existed that could make your pet dodge roll, or gave it evasion for a few frames (no animation!) It could be called the “Dodge!” button, and every time I used it I could make a DBZ Abridged joke to my mates on TS.

But that doesn’t solve the problem. It’s a cool thought that I can bring up with folks, but wouldn’t solve the problem of pets in dungeons while possibly adversely affecting PvP. Making the numbers bigger doesn’t work either (trust me, we’ve tried)

YES! Pet dodge! That alone could solve a good chunk of pet complaints!
I LOVE my pets, but in some dungeons, it is a little difficult to use them sometimes, but not all the time.

A dodge function (whether from a trait, utility (a shout I assume) or just a key binding) would be most welcome!

I can’t wait to see what you devs come up with!

Low FPS - [merged]

in Account & Technical Support

I’m having indescriminate FPS.
Is my PC able to run a stable framerate?

Processor: Intel® Pentium® D CPU 3.00GHz (2 CPUs)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
RAM: 3.25GB
Windows XP

My average FPS is between 15-20, but sometimes drops to around 5-10.
Is there anything I can do here, or is my PC just sluggish?
