I was a bit sad that there was a dungeon needing a group at the end of this story. I don’t like dungeons. Not very fun for me unless I was playing with good friends. I’m a solo player who loves the challenge. I did the Halloween event solo, Christmas event solo and was hoping this one I could do but I couldn’t. Got myself to the last boss after hours of playing and dying which was the best and frustrating time I had. Reaching the last boss alone was such a thrill. Couldn’t figure out how to keep the npc’s up and fight the bosses at the same time so I had to give up. Maybe 2 players could do it. Not sure.

Now even with all that said. I actually loved the dungeon. Very well made and lot of people loved the boss fights. I do love fighting with others in WVW and in the open world so I have no problem with social interactions when needed. Just don’t want to be forced. I have always loved the challenge of doing things solo which others need a group to do. Played in another game in raids years ago and got so bored of the same thing every week.

Being sad about the fact there is a dungeon doesn’t mean I want them to change it. I am OK not getting the achievements if I decide to not find a group. If those npc’s didn’t die so quickly maybe I could have killed one boss but then again I don’t know. Everyone plays games for different reasons. We all can’t have what we want in an mmo. Most of the solo players know this very well or they should.

I agree. I’m giddy too remembering my childhood playing these type of games. Almost to the point of crying I’m having so much fun. I just love that I can take my fancy graphical characters through this old style world. Just so awesome. Made my day!

I Haven’t had a big problem today at all. I love that I can actually see everyone around me. I do play on a smaller server and the only times I got skill lag before was in SM with all 3 servers inside. Haven’t had a fight like that today yet. I have noticed lag but not terrible. I really don’t want culling to come back. Just fix the lag somehow and I’ll be happy.

Yes and I love it as a casual game.

I actually think holiday events should be fun and not very hard to do. I have been able to do every dungeon this time solo but it took me a long time. This one with the griffon nests was a challenge to figure out but finally had a strategy that worked. Lot of casual players come back for the holiday events so if you need to finish the dungeon just join a group. The hardcore players are a lot more friendly and accepting of others who like to have fun and willing to learn. I personally think it would be better for these events to form a group automatically like the pvp events. These dungeons are not hard to do so don’t need a list of instructions to do at a certain time.

So go ahead and try it solo, duo or find a group. All are fun and challenging. Just because someone likes playing solo or duo doesn’t mean they should play a single player game. Most MMO’s are solo friendly and I play them because I LOVE to help others out but not forced to help out or interact with rude people.

I kind of agree but as a solo player I understand I won’t be able to do everything in the game. So the holiday events with group dungeons is disappointing but I am still enjoying the content. The option for a solo play of the dungeons would be nice. I always like a challenge when I play solo. So of course I tried to solo these dungeons which I have been successful. Took me almost an hour with breaks in between to figure out the best way of doing it. Will have to see what the other days will bring. I also was able to solo the Halloween dungeon so I have been happy with the holiday events.

These dungeons will be around for a few weeks so it should be easy to find a group of friends or unknown people to finish it anyway. I don’t have much of a problem with it either way.

Please do more of these puzzles. This was fun! This puzzle will be here for a long time so just wait it out and try again. It’s just an achievement you will get anyway. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself. The mad king puzzle had a lot of pressure because it was here for a few days. Just wait and try again. Took me less than an hour after I timed the jumps right.

I enjoyed everything with this event. Best Halloween event in a game I’ve played. The jumping puzzle was the best part for me. Difficult but not too hard. When I finished it I was so excited. Like others have said the beginning with everyone packed together made it more difficult for some but I enjoyed the fact we were all trying it together and able to chat to each other.

I would suggest to keep the events available to as many players as possible. Making the hunt for the books in high level areas made it difficult. I was able to do it on my level 9’s with help. I also helped a lot of people too. Maximum level 20 areas would be fine for most I believe. Makes it exciting but not too difficult.

To everyone else I would suggest to have fun and don’t assume what will happen so you won’t get worked up about it and be disappointed if it’s not something you assumed it would be.

I helped plenty of low levels with this quest. I even stayed for a bit to rez and kill the mobs around. Just need to ask in map chat sometimes.

Yes. This has been the best fun I’ve had in an MMO holiday event ever. Thanks! I’m not one of those people who need to be first so the bugs and glitches didn’t effect me at all. Clock tower was awesome!!
