Found this languishing on page 4 (page 3 would probably be more appropriate)… still, unless you can pass our strict criteria you ain’t coming in!

That’s a lie, of course. However, by preference we have recently agreed that what would really build our server up well is a couple of guilds outside of the typical European primetime, during which we are normally fairly strong… except me… in fact many of you have probably killed me before if you have ever rolled through the northern supply camp on GH BL! I’m the silly Ele who stands there and dies a lot

1) Smoked salmon and cream cheese, because I can.

2) My mum’s on the phone…. again!

3) None – in fact you lose points if you do not /cry

4) Wait until Jessopia joins the fight – you will know the worst of the fighting is over.

5) Follow them – I always ruin things.

7) 2×24 cases each. Plus hip flasks. And be prepared to kill your teammates if you run out.

8) What is this ‘5 man team’ you talk of? I solo the enemy and dance round picking whatever I kitten well want! (~dreaming~)

Kind of sad I have such a heavy work load right now, from what ive seen while online this match up has been fun so far for those involved.

GH is well known for its volatile numbers in WvW and many of us were expecting this to blow up in our faces when you guys ranked down, to be honest in my opinion its been no worse than RoF or Dzag .

I think Skwas’ fears are unfounded for WSR our numbers are relatively stable due to a strong core of indefatigable WvW regulars who make me proud whenever I am commanding.

I sure hope they know what indefatigable means… :s

Hi Eclipse – I can assure you and all of AS and WSR that the sentiment felt within the GH community is most definitely NOT ‘way look at us go, aren’t we awesome!!’… quite the opposite. We respect the fights you are bringing to us and enjoying the game, despite the ranking system and transfers having conspired to make things sadly one-sided. We are sympathetic to your cause and know well what it feels like, but at the same time we will come and fight hard and hopefully with a good amount of pride and sportsmanship.

We are really hoping ROS will move up in sync with us doing the same, as we are really a T7 server who didn’t deserve the previous matchup, just as you probably don’t this one.

Hey folks, I have been experiencing constant crashes recently and the game has become unplayable. I opened a support ticket, but when I try to upload the supporting files it fails, so instead I pasted the text into the ticket. However, I am growing concerned that support are waiting for attachments on the ticket before carrying on the investigation…. am I right to be concerned?

Way too much whining in this thread for my liking – we have a very close match up with balanced scores (as balanced as I have seen in a while, anyway) and what ought to be some good fights going on – I’d appeal to all to stop with accusations of double teaming and so on as it really serves no purpose!

I counted six defenders in BT borderland at reset. I knew you guys had a lot of guilds leave, but that was a surprise. Gunnar’s Hold has been through a lot, but even at our worst it didn’t get that bad. I wish you guys the best of luck, i must admit that given the huge numbers disparity i felt really kittenty taking your towers and keeps tonight. I can’t imagine this week will be much fun for you guys.

I’m with Fab on this guys – try to keep your chins up though and there could still be some nice fights to have!

Indeed – I sympathise and to be honest alot of the WvW players on all 3 servers don’t like it this unbalanced, but there is 1 day left of this matchup before the tiers are adjusted, so please don’t be too disheartened!

We had lots of good fights last night which I really enjoyed – the quarry supply camp raid where RoF stopped us in our tracks very effectively was fun, as were the running battles around the eastern edges of Garrison. Thanks to RoF and WSR for a great matchup week

WSR perspective, the GH/RoF numbers don’t seem too dissimilar (well at times GH seems to have an advantage, like weekends), GH seem by far and away better organised and coordinated, you can tell so much that they’re communicating with each other inter guild.

Thanks, and I believe this may well be true. We have put months of hard work into getting guilds of all shapes and sizes to work together utilising a cross-server 1,000 slot mumble server to good effect. I honestly think we are closely matched with RoF in terms of numbers, but what GH are good at (and I hope I am not giving away any major secrets!) is mobilising when there is a significant threat, at least during primetime. It’s not at all unusual for someone to hop across mumble channels and ask (we are very respectful and polite!) whether assistance can be brought to bear on defending another target in need…. if people are available the response will be immediate, and that might make us appear to have more players than we actually do!

It’s not so much an attempt to recruit more players on to GH as to encourage the ones already here to coordinate more closely or even try out WvW if they haven’t done so before. It is true that a couple of gilds have joined recently, but although they bring some experience and have integrated well their numbers are very modest indeed!

GH community folks have (for several weeks now) been running a concerted effort to recruit people ON our server into WvW, and I think that with the tiers having settled somewhat into a more even fight in the past few weeks more people have been encouraged. We actually run WvW orientation courses and I have had more than 2 groups on each session in the past 2 weeks (we cover all the basics – supplies/map locations/points of interest/danger signs/siege weapons etc) so we definitely have people getting into WvW who were not previously interested. We have had 2 guilds join, but happily not with huge numbers so as to keep a steady ship. These guys have joined in with our existing structure and setup very nicely which most definitely has helped. As per Genotix, I will happily admit we have the edge on numbers overall in this matchup, but when both RoF and SWR come a-knocking we have a tough job and we are honestly moving around alot, very fast to reach critical defenses.

As with others, I personally salute both RoF and SWR for 2 weeks of fair, hard battle with some great action throughout. You guys can certainly fight well and with honour and it really has been a pleasure to be up against you!

Can RoF find out who is camping the GH JP with siege weapons? Sure – all is fair in love and war, but some stuff is still rather ‘lame’

but seriously – as Roo has stated it’s a very fun and friendly environment with no prejudice or ‘must do x or y’ kind of attitude. Just a lot of GH players getting along well together, organising events and fun and generally having a great time!

As a member of the GH community I can assure you that no such truce or alliance is in place between GH and WSR or RoF.

As per Fab – we lay out a very clear reset plan and stick to it – again we were skeleton crew in our own BL but as soon as SM fell a few of us went back to help shore it up. GH are well organised and very mobile when we need to be

What a stupid thread in the WvW forum!

If you are by a Dolyak so you see the ‘escort’ event, looking at the map will show you a small round yellowish icon at the target location.

The reason is simple; GH showed at reset and yesterday again that they easily have more numbers then the other 2 servers, I dare even say combined, if they decide to (which, to my knowledge, only happened on the 2 occasions previously mentioned).

Reset we went with a very clear strategy and left a skeleton force in our own BL – we did not have massive numbers. Yesterday, however, saw a concerted and well-fought attempt to take SM which actually worked (to give you a clue, I was even part of the SM attack, and I have never ever been there before)… after this we had a major influx of player suddenley ‘interested’ for some unknown reason (I’m being sarcastic here – we had loads come in looking for map completion, I think!!)

On a regular day, we don’t have massive numbers compared to you guys. Slightly more then RoS and slightly less than RoF as I think the scores testify.

There have been good fights, and I’m sorry that RoS have to fall a tier – wish you well in coming back up soon!

I know of at least 4 people on GH who can hit a spot with precision almost 1st time on most of the BL main treb targets, for example Lake tower from Hills. In fact, we have one player, Padmin, who can also turn a treb and counter against other siege equipment almost every time…. we cann her our Queen of Siege.

Where applicable we can ‘double hit’ walls at corners to take 2 walls down at once. Add to this the fact that we are dedicated on task, then you will find our shots coming in with remarkable regularity, since the treb shot has a timer on it (it’s not really rocket science now, is it?). And so what if people repair? We’ll happily carry on until you run out of supplies while other troops either cut off supply runs, take camps or place additional siege to supplement the trebs.

Oh… and if we see anyone else struggling with the treb we help them set it up, show them how to target and also to home in on somone else’s successful shots, so more of us will learn.
