On reset we did go with a very coordinated plan, working with effectively a skeleton crew in our BL to allow a good number of us to execute plans on enemy territory. So far so good, but nice fighting and a MUCH better balance than we have been used to. Come get us guys

GH seem to have the upper hand right now, but we know that can change quickly – some good fights already!

We’ve had some great match ups, but I have to go with Piken Square – good fair tactics and great fights!

where are these mythical guilds that are on gunnar’s hold, i think after what happen to me tonight i never want to be in a guild ever again. It was not fun for a noobie like my self.

simple if the guild is really friendly helpful, not so if it is all a front and they’re elitist.

I didn’t use TS because last time i was on one of their officers was horrified that he heard my toddler briefly cry, he is 2 and had just woken from a nap so grumpy, i do have push to speak, but don’t want to be lectured on the reason why they never want children, as a woman i found it insulting and strangely funny at the same time. oh and i use cans so in other words swear away.

So no i’m not the best player….. yet…. but i have the tools, gaming rigs i build myself, 2 isp’s, over 100 Mb connection and most important free time, i just needed to tag along learn the ropes but was totally left on my own.

So i wont be going back in wvw again, best to keep myself to myself as it took all meaning of what is friendly from me.

So not that simple for me.

sounds like you have had a bad experience, and I really hope you mean teamspeak and not mumble?

At www.gunnars-hold.eu we have a guild-independant community site for people to get to know each other, hang out, discuss tactics or anytheing else at all. We run a server-wide mumble server for those who want to listen in for better coordination, and it is definitely friendly and naturally if you don’t wish to talk that’s up to you. It’s also ahem somewhat mature with many users well over the age of ‘40’ (I’m being nice here;)).

We also are more than happy to help with any questions people have, and some of us have run specific training sessions for people new to WvW covering many aspects such as good attack spots, other points of interest, supplies and supply runs, setting up and using siege weapons, anf trying at the same time to gain a bit of ground on the enemy as we do!

Please drop by and introduce yourself – for full mumble access you need to be verified as a genuine GH player (ie have a chat in game with one of the regulars) but if you simply log on and get into the lobby there are a number of players listed who can ‘move’ you into whichever channel you want to be.

Hopefully we can find some WvW fun for you to change your mind!

That would be frustrating, I agree, but to my knowledge it’s a perfectly legitimate tactic, and yes, lucky if you have the ele’s available to do it. We’ve been on the end of similar attacks where the only thing you can do is suck it up and try to bottleneck the enemies coming into the Lord’s room.

I was there too… obviously an exploit, against the game’s official rules let alone those of decency and fair play.

Glad I’m not on Dz or I’d feel compelled to leave with this behaviour around me.

Not all of our siege was down. I was trying to man a cata in the courtyard firing at the door, but couldn’t because of the repeated pets attacking. Roo was with me and as 2 staff eles we can normally do plenty of damage against attackers at gates, but our time was taken up defending ourselves from enemies inside the keep that shouldn’t have been there.

We were there when your attack started so at that point the door was 100%. No one can say for sure if we’d have kept you out or not, but the fact remains that glitchers ruined any chance we had.

Roo and I were also 2 of the defenders later at Garrison watergate – kept you out against superior numbers there, didn’t we?

Anyway – if you’re refusing to accept that some of ECL were doing this there’s nothing more to be said.

We told everyone in our teamspeak to not attack anyone or anything and to try getting out there asap. I had an eye on every guildmember who accidently got in there and i am almost 100% sure that they did as we orderd. If defenders died on top of the walls while using carts etc by common AoE, it had nothing to do with those who got in there while trying to get as much dmg on the door as possible.

Well I was just inside the gate rezzing and was most definitely killed through exploiting as was the person I was rezzing. As Roo says, we’ll move on from this, but given some of the other great fights we’ve had tonight it’s a shame that for many of us the experience has been spoiled by what seems to be just a couple of cheats.

Is this part of a special WvW event you guys are having? Enormous numbers :o

We spotted a number of your guild glitching into Sunnyhill on our own borderlands a few moments ago. Also warping pets in through doors.

You might want to have a quiet word with your people. We’ve taken numerous screenshots and reported to this to ArenaNet.

I urge anyone that spots people from their own team glitching (i.e. cheating) to kick people from guilds before you become tarnished with the poor behaviour of others.

I was there and you forgot to mention that nobody of us did any dmg while being inside. This is a kinda new bug (like 2 or 3 weeks i guess) and it only happens in Sunnyhill as far as i know. It happens automaticlaly when using several skills on the door and since we were attacking the door we couldnt really control it.

We are sorry for that but we (atleast our guild) is far away from cheating or bugusing. We accidently bugged in there but didnt take advantege of it so it wasnt an exploit.

Perhaps you yourself didn’t, but others did. I was one of those killed myself, whilst rezzing another player who had been killed by the previous exploiter.

It stinks.

Then don’t attack when you get inside… and it’s also odd that of so many DE players it only seemed to be ECL that were affected?

It’s not a cheat, no, it’s an exploit and both suck equally as far as I am concerned.

DE had a massive numbers advantage over us – why the need to cheat too?

I play a staff ele and I’ll happily admit I’m not very good at it, but I do find that the forum whines about mist form make me want to use it more and more

I deliberately wait until loads of enemies are poised to ‘finish him’ and then hit that good old button, run 5 yards and die, laughing hysterically to myself.

I also adore running out of keeps, waiting to be downed, then mist forming back inside!!

valid points all, I I do understand that AG had been making good progress on their own, without other guilds joining … that just helped a bit. Nidd makes valid points aswell, though, and to understand the whole situation you need to have been in his shoes. GH are still dignified, and we will fight against our foes regardless of who they may be

I’ll base a reaction to any news on facts, not rumours. That said, however, given that the said guilds have not made announcement publicly about plans to move it leaves 3 scenarios really:

1) They have agreed to move and told you privately but with freedom to post about it openly. If this were the case I’d be disappointed, of course, but moreover I’d be very suprised indeed. I think I know those guys better than to think they would let anyone other than themselves make an announcement.

2) They have agreed to move and told you privately, and your post is without their knowledge or consent. This would only show why you have eroded the trust and faith people had in you when you were on GH. Even the 2nd time round some of us were more than prepared to let the past be the past and welcome you back. I don’t think that would happen again after this post.

3) They have not agreed, or told you anything of the sort. If that’s the case then more so than in case 2 you are simply stirring things up. Good riddance for that possibility.

I was doing my Jessy Spak Hand typing job, stood at Garrison, and listening for updates on mumble to pass on. About 3 times someone said, at various points, ‘Bay is lost’ only for vociferous /team messages to reverberate saying ‘not until I draw my last breath’, or similar. Made me smile alot!!

Well I got online … errr… some time after reset (I think) and was blottoed after too many birthday drinks but even through the saze, headache and additional ‘medicinal’ beers I saw some great work from GH defending our BL and hopefully freeing up some others for EB shenanigans.

I don’t nor will subscribe to name-calling and other nonsense. What’s done is done and we’ll continue, heads held high and fighting to the last!

Well it looks like WR won`t won this one ;-) anyway we had some good fight as well, some days ago GH guys had time to learn our flag [VAR] on their bay, 5 hours during main time yesterday we were there as well, but this times the guys/girls where more prepared – unpolite guys at all, they put flags to the visitors, hey and what abut hospitality?
AG have much more player the us, but we caused some harm to them as well ;-)
One bad thing that I have to mention. I saw more and more exploit use on WvW, I hope this trend will end soon.

Must say I have felt a bit sorry for WR this matchup – with GH being very hard pushed by AG we have naturally had to take your territory whenever possible. You gve us a good fight at Bay though, and we enjoyed that. For what it’s worth, when you were really low on tick and we went to AG as you had the southern part of the map for a while we had put out the call ‘leave the red, hit the green’… might seem a bit unfair to AG folks but the sentiment was right with the large points difference.

Didn’t last long though, as WR still attacked us

Well, I have been pretty vocal and involved in the GH community projects and WvW efforts, and I for one would thank all of [KISS] and in particular Dis for their efforts on our behalf up umtil now. Guilds will move from time to time and frankly we should respect the decisions of each of them as players in their own right.
