Old topic, still same kittening problem. I have 100M/10M cable and still my GW2 download is around 1-100kb/s. And yes I have tested all possble -kitten things in shortcut and so on. So reason why people still loves WoW? It god kitten works like charm.

I think i found solution for some ppl.

So, I had problems with my GTX 560 Ti CU card. It shuts down or put my ASUS VE237H Monitor to sleep in starting windows 7 or in Guild Wars 2 in some graphical stuff in game.

I tried to find solution for this annoying problem for looong time.
But finally got bored to try to find drivers and stuff manually without help, i first seeked MajorGeek. From there they recommended http://neptunet.net/blogi/2011/02/15/ajurit-ovatko-ajurit-ajan-tasalla/

It is finnish sorry, but that site is recommended Pelit maganize and MB magazine. Those two are major gaming/software/hardware magazines in Finland.

Usually i don’t ever NEVER use 3rd party programs to mess my computer. But this SlimDrivers is microsoft approval (WHQL) So i tried it. I have F-Secure (Like Kaspersky etc) monitoring my computer too.

Well SlimDrivers (Ver 2.2.32705.52095) found 17 old drivers in my computer! Like others may found, slim updates them automatically. Other updaters costs and are only trials and do no kitten.
But Slim is freeware. Just put email and voila, it works. (I used fake mail just in case.)

After updating (like ATI I/O Communications Processor PCI Bus Controller, AMD processors, PCI standard ISA bridge, PCI Express Standard Root Port, Storage controllers, Network adapters and Realtek audio etc.)

I stressed few hours my computer in different situations, overclocked my CPU and GPU. No problems so far.

So i hope this helps somebody. Please ask if something is wrong etc.

And no, i am NOT marketing or like that this program. I just find it useful.

I use Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 http://www.kaspersky.com/
And i found keylogger from my computer and it tried to take GW2 password from me but Kaspersky noticed it and deleted it instantly. Then i used Kaspersky Virtual Keyboard to change password so no logger etc could take it from pressing my keyboard. Then i used remember the password so it is secure all the time. I trust Kaspersky since 2006. I know it is expensive security but it is always helped me greatly. So what do we learn from this. Don’t go torrent sites. Use only original programs and pay for them. Then you stay secure and life is much easier.

Well i recommend 180-200€ graphic cards. There are few to choose with not much difference… Google it.
ATI or nVidia. What feels the best for you.

I had under 30 ping and 8/1Mbit. And in game i have good latency. No problems here at Finland at Southern Region.

And remember put your administrator privilegs to GW2.exe. And also you could try shutting down Firewall (Norton, Kaspersky, MS Security Essential) at time you install the game.

Oh it chrashes? Darn… You should do ticket straight to “admins”.

Game is sold with 2 DVD’s but and it’s previous version. Game has been updated so it will be downloaded from ANet server i think. I may be wrong too… maybe some wiser will help you with this matter.

I think you install only main stuff from disk 1 (DVD). Then rest of game data will be automatically downloaded with client. I only needed code from box and game itself was downloaded. Can you play the game or is it even updating itself when you try to login?

Do you have 32-bit or 64-bit OS?

I just played 8 hours straight… No other game has gotten me like this! And I enjoy GW2 more I play. Norn has so great storyline. And Roleplaying… next i will RP. Good bye RL…. xD

My wife has Intel CPU. Core i3 and 6Gb memory. And i have AMD Phenom II X4 B55 and 12 Gb Memory. We have same GPU. And She has 10 fps more than I. Godkitten#8230; :P

560 ti isn’t too “powerfull”. If you have good Power supply. I have Corsair VX550W Power supply with nVidia GTX 560 ti CU II and i have stable 60fps. And i have 12Gb RAM but game uses about 2-4Gb only. So i would recommend better Graphic card.

One small thing. Remember defrag your hard drive. One good free program that i use is Defraggler. http://www.piriform.com/defraggler
And one small thing is keeping registry clean and clean up your unused data and corrupted files. I use Ccleaner. It’s free too. http://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER
Piriform is company from Finland and very highly trusted in here. And Piriform has other good programs too. After i used those two programs my fps jumped from 60 to almost 70. Now i use Vertical sync (60 fps) and game runs smoothly even i have all AMD stuff…

Delete local.dat

Computer-libraries-documents-guild wars 2 and then just delete local.dat from there.

It’s weird that some ppl have truly high end computer and my old fart machine is better fps in GW2 than them… Now, there is something that we haven’t undestanded yet. Like some update or anything like that differences etc. But please more results and tell also how’s your game is running.

Also if someone have Reviversofts Driver Reviver, check your ALL drivers to ok. I had ancient drivers for PCI-e something in my motherboard so 24Mb update and it gave me better fps in game instantly.

Yes after patch my computer coughs in GW2.
But your rig should run pretty smooth… weird?! It seems that if you have better computer, it runs worse… WTF! ArenaNet help!?

Try 3dmark 11 Basic from their homepage. It’s free and rapes your computer good. Tell then your scores! I had 4824 points from it. AMD Phenom II x 4 B55 Black Edition 3,71GHz, nVidia GeForce GTX 560 ti CU 950MHz 2200MHz. 12 GB DDR3 RAM 1333MHz. Corsair VX550W Powersupply.

I had problems with FPS but then i updated latest nVidia drivers. And over clocked my Phenom II x4 B55 Black Edition from 3.2GHz to 3.71GHz. Then i over clocked my nVidia GeFotrce GTX 560 TI CU 950MHz graphics and 2200MHz memory. I have 12Gb Memory of 1333MHz. Before i got like 38fps when all maxed. Now low shadows, medium LOD and native sampling. No AA on. Now i have vertical sync 60 fps all the time EXCEPT in WvW. There is 30-35fps. So maybe CPU AMD isn’t good at this game at this point? It seems to be bottle neck cos CPU usage for 4 cores is 40%. Graphic card has 98% usage and 81c temperature. Processor is stable 56c temperature. I hope this helps somebody…

I have this same problem in map chat and in my mailbox… Why people wan’t to ruin the Economy of their realm? Geezz… what losers.

There may be many about this same question but search didn’t work so i just wanted to ask everybodys opinion and ArenaNet/NCsoft statement to how are we going to get better secure for our accounts?
Is there in near future going to be mobile authenticator or normal authenticator in about 10€ prize or something? So many my friends accounts have been hacked and now those are used for gold spamming and other stupid things in the game… So please reply for this important question.
