I keep running into this problem and have to run other dungeons instead which sucks because I want the CoF gear. If there was a way to manually start the quest rather than having it on a timer that would be good. The idea that a world event closes a dungeon that isn’t a max level dungeon seems flawed since most people will not be sitting there defending the entrance, they’ll be inside the dungeon. For the past three days I’ve only been able to run CoF once because we got lucky with the timing. Make the event easier to start and less buggy please.
We sort of fixed the Razen bug where he just sits on the entrance to the bridge by kiting an effigy to him and letting him die. When we got him back up the bridge fight started. YMMV.
We tried the 1 person at a time, run back from waypoint ASAP method and we ended up dying too quickly. The firewalls they drop killed Magg most of the time too.
Maybe it’s possible if you have super exotic gear and the perfect group makeup but for us mortals killed 3 elites withing ~20 seconds isn’t a feasible option.
Hey all, so my group got to the Magg setting bomb event with little issues last night and then ended up quitting due to almost 10 failed attempts. The spawn rate is clearly too fast to be able (or intended) to kill the mobs that spawn. Other people say to just kite and stay alive while he plants the bomb but will all of the AoE (fireballs/firewall/flamethrowers), condition damage, and cripple from the mobs it was quite impossible for our group last night. We had an engineer, mesmer, thief, ranger, and guardian so we should have been fine. Is there plans on reworking this event so it is not just a kite-fest or is that as intended?
If you all run out of the lava area he should reset. If that doesn’t work we just all jumped into the lava and us dying reset him.
Can you make a new NCSoft account and link with serial code or is it still only for Guild Wars 1?
I know that email authentication should be live now but I have yet to receive an email to verify any of the computers I have launched the game on. I initially verified my account on my laptop on a completely different network than my desktop. I then went home and logged in and did not need to authenticate my desktop. I’m not sure if it is not set up or what. Also, email authentication is a great idea but I think it should be set up for the website login as well. NCSoft’s site has it set up where you need to answer security questions before logging in on a new computer. Since you can change your email/password from the website, the authentication doesn’t seem to do much. If this is incorrect let me know. Also, why can I not get authentication emails? (It’s not in Spam)
Do you have an NCSoft Master account linked to your Guild Wars account? If so you can use it to reset the password to your account and log in with the email they changed yours to and then change the email in your Guild Wars account management. Worked for my brother but YMMV.
If you have an NCSoft Master Account attached to your account you can recover it yourself. My brother got his account hacked and I walked him through these steps to get it back. First, go to www.ncsoft.com and log in. Then go to account management and then game accounts. Your Guild Wars account should be there and you can change the password and view the email from that page. Using that changed email and your new password then log into the Guild Wars 2 website and change your email back. I recommend changing it to something different than before as the hacker will already have that one and also use a completely unique password. I’m not sure if this still works. YMMV
