Tome of Courage doesn’t trigger Indomitable Courage trait.
Tome of Courage also doesn’t give stability when traited with Indomitable Courage.
I’m laughing so hard at Mantra of Flame. 2.75s to charge and then cast a cone aoe that deals 1 stack of burning, 15s recharge, 25s if you use the third charge. The cone is small and has a range of 300.
I tested with signet of judgement and it says -12% incoming damage so it should be the boosted value.
What I don’t understand about downed state is why you get x3 health when you’re dying.
When you discover exotics for leveling, don’t craft the inscriptions/insignia yourself. The tier 6 mats required to craft them are pretty expensive (especially leather for insignias). Instead, you should buy the inscriptions/insignias with stats that are not available for crafting (like rabid, soldier, etc..). You have a chance of getting those from salvaging exotic gear of the same stats and ppl just sell them on the trading post for around 1g each.
It’s actually not the the tracker from an enemy tower. It’s from a tower your server just captured (the tower tracks allies instead of enemies). I noticed this bug after the patch and have sent an in-game bug report. Hope it’ll get fixed soon.

Please nerf mesmer’s blurred frenzy and add cast time to their shatters before doing that.

Mesmer and Guardians are vastly different on a myriad of levels even before looking at individual skills, so you’ve lost this one before you’ve even begun.
Specifically though, Blurred Frenzy is a rooted channel, so you can’t reposition or cast any other non-instant skills while channeling it. Shatters themselves can be used with immediacy, but doing so without clones reduces their effects dramatically.
Of course any good player knows AoE pressure nukes mesmer clones in an instant, and DH with their excessive on point aoe pressure can do away with them best of all XD
So what’s the big take away from this? Clone generation takes multiple skill use with cast times (among other conditions) to generate (some, not all), can be shut down with cleave/aoe pressure, and assuming you overcome those caveats (and its reasonable that, yes, mesmers can work around that to some degree) only then do their shatters make an impact. But here’s the kicker, you can still block/invuln/dodge those clone shatters XD

Blurred frenzy is 3s invul on a 9.75s cd which is also a burst so there you go offensive + defensive in one skill (it’s also an invul so unblockable skills are useless here). Mesmer also has 4s invul on shatter on a 42s cd that you can use twice. Then you also have those low cd block, teleport, stealth. Also guess what? You can spam your shatter while doing all those things because they don’t have cast time. Now should a class that is designed to confuse enemies with clones and use those split seconds of confusion to their advantage have more “active defense” than a class that is designed to be a bunker with no way to escape?
Clone generation? It’s not even a problem anymore with chronomancer.
Your shatter can be blocked/dodged? So is everyone else’s attack.

What’s worse is when you get interrupted by a mesmer with power block and it becomes 15s.
Things I find obstructing my projectiles:
- Random invisible wall on flat ground.
- Dead npc bodies in a supply camp (my projectiles just disappear without saying obstructed, my DH symbol from longbow creates a symbol where an npc body used to be even though the body is already gone).
- Friendly ranger’s pet. No jokes, I was on my staff ele using air autoattack (it bounces between targets) when a ranger’s pet got in between me and the npc and my attack just bounces off the pet into the air without hitting the npc.
All the pulls seem to be broken after HoT. 90% of the time when you pull an enemy, he gets teleported back to where he was or just falls over in the same spot. I don’t know if this is due to bad server but it’s really annoying when you pull someone into your trap and he gets teleported but your traps are still activated and do no damage.
Since this topic is getting some dev attention I’ll just throw a problem here and hope that they’ll read. The problem is that when you have multiple sources of blocks and you get attacked, an attack will remove 1 block from all the sources you have. For example, you are using mace #3 and also have focus #5 while having aegis: mace 3 will activate + you’ll lose aegis + you’ll lose 1 block from focus #5 when you get attacked once by an enemy -> losing 3 blocks from 1 attack. I wouldn’t mind it this much if guardian didn’t have the trait Unscathed Contender. Say, I want to use mace #3 (or focus #5) with the trait to maximize the skill’s damage but the moment I get attacked to trigger mace #3 I’ll also lose aegis which results in losing 20% damage from mace #3 (and 1 block from aegis). It would be great if the game can remove blocks from 1 source at a time.
Invigorated Bulwark with bow and staff?
The cooldown is actually 2.5 seconds.
It’s very simple: block them first to see their account name in your block list then unblock and whisper.
It increases boon duration when you equip a staff AND are using the staff. It doesn’t increase your boon duration when you’re using your other weapon set.
I have to add that there’s a problem when using “save yourselves” with the shout trait or rune of the trooper: it pulls all conditions from allies to you first and then clears/converts 1 condition for allies and yourself later. I would like to see it clears/converts 1 condition first and then pull the rest to me so my allies get a boon (from shout trait) and I get fewer conditions.
I’m currently in 2 guilds, let’s call them guild 1 and guild 2. I was repping guild 1 while running with my friends from guild 2 in wvw. They activated their wvw guild missions and I got credits for all of them. However, everytime I get credit, a random guild mission from guild 1 gets flagged as me having received its reward (the chest icon is open while the shield icon is unlit, occurs to both pve and wvw missions). I thought it was just a display bug but during guild 1’s missions at a later time (I only do pve missions with them), I didn’t get any of the rewards from those missions with an open chest icon. This is the second week I see it happens.
Spear of Justice still doesn’t immobilize with Wrath of Justice traited.
It’s funny that someone on yak’s bend complains about hacks and exploits. I’ve been playing gw2 for 3 years and I can say I’ve seen more types of hack from yb than from any other server. Have you seen a warrior that can use skills from other professions, such as lightning flash and blink? As if warrior can’t nike enough or something. Have you seen an engineer that gets stuck under the map and has unlimited attack range and contests garrison and bay right at the exact moment timer goes off like a bot? Have you seen a zerg exploiting into your citadel and and post pictures on their forum and everyone says it’s cool? Those are just to name a few. Zoom hack? Yak’s bend does it countless times everyday and still complains?
There are 2 traits for scepter in the zeal line but the minor traits are all for symbol. The GM traits are also spirit weapon, aegis, and more symbol traits.
I’ve experienced this problem as well. My guardian’s orb of light even got reflected by random things such as a warrior using hundred blades O_O. I also notice that my projectiles such as necro’s staff auto and life blast get obstructed by the corpses of dead npcs.

It heals as much as it does with 1 guardian and 4 other classes. There you have it.

lol the current radius of Symbol of Swiftness says 180 in the tooltip but it’s actually just 120 just like Symbol of Faith. I thought ANet were going to increase its radius to 180 from… 180 XD
it’s because you have that rune set in your pvp armors and it’s a known bug.
I agree with OP on how AoE and LoS work. The LoS makes defending on top of a wall a disadvantage against a zerg. The zerg can cast up but the defenders can’t cast down without standing in that area of insta-death. An arrow cart or 2 at the back edge of the wall can be destroyed easily with tons of meteor showers and the ppl who man the siege can be pulled by mesmers into the area of insta-death.
Was “Pure of Voice” supposed to work before “Superior Runes of The Soldiers” ?
I’ve tested several times today in Orr and it seems not that way. I was in an area with fire kept falling from the sky so I got burning condition constantly on me, then I used “Stand Your Ground” and only received Stability and Retaliation from it. The burning was removed but never converted to regeneration. The same happened for any single condition inflicted on me.
Reduced the number of maximum of stacks of Retaliation allowed to five (was 25). Duration still stacks.
This part doesn’t make any sense. Retaliation didn’t stack in intensity so how was it 25 stacks before ? It still not stacks in intensity now, so this just means no change, does it ?
^ maybe because your aquabreather replaces your head gear underwater ?
Btw the trait “Blind Exposure” seems to not work with the Supervisor NPC in wvw supply camps when his buff is still on. Everytime I use a blind from my GS, sword, or from activating VoJ, there are some “immune” pop up and the NPC doesn’t receive any stack of vulnerability or blind. I’m sure the NPC is not immune to blind because other people can apply it to him.
I’m a guardian using greatsword with superior sigil of geomancy and this is what happened while I was doing AC explorable :
I picked up a frost bow conjured by an elementalist, then the sigil’s effect triggered and I lost the frost bow immediately. It happened everytime I picked up a frost bow without fail.
