Found an official response related to this. In short, don’t play on the incorrectly created account.
Any news? Are we almost through the hacked account ticket? Anyone with serial key issues get resolved yet?
Saw a post about a hacked issue reported on the 3rd being resolved today… so I’m guessing there are still quite a few.
10+ days seems to be the current wait for non-hack issues.
Going on day 7, read of people upwards of 10 still waiting. Good luck.

Kindly, I request that these “linking” issues that are preventing people from playing on the accounts they used and possibly even paid money into during the pre-purchase/order grace period (gems) be re-prioritized.
Account hacks were understandable issues to take priority initially, but now the community has been informed for days that they should protect themselves better. Yet the new hack cases seem to be taking priority over other extremely old incidents.
As of today, I have been waiting a week for resolution and have not been engaged by support directly at any point. Ticket: 120901-002179
From reading the many posts on these forums it is clear that others have been waiting even longer. I think the priority should be getting people back into the game, regardless of the specific reason they are not able to get into the game. I will concede that locking down a reported hacked account should be a high priority; however, the restoration efforts should not take precedence over much older tickets preventing access to the game.
Just my two cents, take it as you may. Thanks for your diligent efforts to help people in this, undoubtedly, extremely stressful time.
I’ve followed the new procedure for my ticket from 08/31/2012 09:17 PM (support server time). Everything else is closed and a full update in the last entry on the original ticket.

If you have a vague subject line, it can’t hurt to make it more specific: “Hacked Account” or “Log-in Issues.” No need to change, but you can if you wish.
I don’t see a way to change the subject after a ticket has been created?

For those of us who had stacking code issues that ended up in a second account being generated (thus closing off access to our main accounts Saturday night), will a support representative please answer the following?
Does it matter if we play on the working account while waiting for our tickets to be resolved?
I have not been playing on my incorrectly created second account assuming it would make support’s job easier for resolving the issue; but if it doesn’t matter then it would be nice to play while those of us with this issue wait for resolution.
Thanks for any response and your continued diligence to work through all of these issues as timely as possible.
Still waiting, I got my box on Friday and had to submit a ticket shortly afterward as my “Guild Wars” account name was different than my Guild Wars 2 pre-purchase account name.
I’ve also been keeping the “unwanted” full-registered account clean of characters (didn’t even pick a World). My assumption is that it will help support fix the issue with less hassle, but I’ve not seen that confirmed anywhere.
I am in the same situation, though because my GW1 credentials differed from GW2 and when asked if I had a “Guild Wars” (not GW2) account I provided GW1 credentials which failed to then link up to my GW2 pre-purchase account despite later in the form using the common e-mail address associated to GW2 (which I thought must be how they’d link the accounts up).
I received and applied my box code on Friday and have been waiting for a reply since.
