Guild Wars 2

So I reinstalled the game after a few months of not playing and the game just legitimately won’t open. I have more than enough space available as well. Help?

It’s a relief to see there’s many more in the same situation.
Launcher opened fine yesterday, won’t today (tried fresh install)

So none of my IRL friends have really swapped to GW2, and the 4-6 that did are only around level 40-50 as they don’t play very much, so I basically have no friends :/

I’m in a few guilds of nice people but I feel like they’re more of a group of acquaintances than an actual friend circle.

I often end up just logging on and tabbing and not doing too much other than Teq when he’s up.

I have no raid experience really and can do like level 0-40 fractals right now without really any issue. I could go higher but I can’t currently afford artificer 400-500 to make myself an ascended staff that I can infuse (already have the mats for Zojja’s Spire)
I also do a little pvp but am only rank 20/21.

I’m a casual player, but I play at least a few hours on days I have nothing to do. I’m on for at least a little bit almost every day.

I’m basically just looking for someone(or multiple people I suppose) that aren’t super crazy about farming and grinding all day and are in a similar spot as me. I really enjoy the game but my experience is kind of being held back by being mostly alone.

I don’t really care if you’re a girl or a guy, as long as you’re a nice person :)

Edit: I play mostly a few different classes, my main is currently Staff Tempest :)
Finishing chrono soon too :)

I’m using Mercenary’s amulet with Staff Scepter/WH in PvP right now (signet chill) and now that I’m about to tome my necro to 80, I wanted to also play it in Dungeons/Fractals so I didn’t get bored of mes/tempest.

I just wanted to know:
Best build for PvE
Best build for WvW (roaming)

I play complete glass cannon mes/tempest so I’ve been enjoying the 24k health Reaper. That’s not to say I want a tankier build, but I’ll appreciate any input (whether it’s glass cannon or tanky)
The only requirement is that I still do decent damage.

(If you leave a personal build, it would be really appreciated if you’d just post like.. what fractal level you play the build in or just something to measure your experience with Reaper. NOT for credibility sake, just for my own curiosity.)

I main Tempest but over the past few days levelled a Mesmer to 80. I quickly learned that you can solo bosses that you definitely shouldn’t be able to. (Around level 75 I was doing level 80 hero challenges/veterans and not taking damage)
There’s just a lot of kiting involved and you feel like you’re a lot better at the game than you are. I use Greatsword!

If you wanna play a power build then my personal favourite would be Zerker staff and armor with assassins/Zerker rings and trinkets. I use wash the pain away, mist form, feel the burn and signet of fire (must have fire signet) then you can choose your 0 skill based on what you’re doing. FGS is fairly decent overall and I really find Reaper of Grenth fun but I think you’ll usually find yourself going for (glyph of elemental is the name I think) for tanking, healing etc. Whatever element you spawn. Pvp I use Rebound.

This build only leaves you with around 12k hp. I’m pretty sure Celestial armor is still okay but I really haven’t been playing the game long enough to know.

Once again I really haven’t been playing too long but it seems a lot of people agree ele is difficult because of hot keys + glass cannon.

So the Friday before this weekend I downloaded GW2. I hit level 80 like Tuesday (was pretty sick that weekend so literally all I could do was play GW)

I have met a few really great people that are the type that as soon as we get on we’re in a party doing whatever, but I was looking for a couple more people to befriend.

It doesn’t really matter to me whether you’re a guy or a girl, but just have a good sense of humour and we can just talk or do fractals or whatever. I don’t know a ton about the game since I’m new though.

If you’re not level 80 that’s cool, I’m down to do map completion and whatnot. Just know that sometimes I’ll have to leave to go do fractals/dungeons with the 2 previously mentioned people.

DeKeyz (or something similar) on YouTube does a lot of build guides on Necro/Ele etc so check out her channel for sure.

My Ele is:

Berserker Staff (Air and Force Sigils. Night and Force for nighttime. I also have a staff with Corruption/Bloodlust for fun)
Berserker Armor with Scholar runes, if you can’t afford them or don’t like them then Flame Legion is second best.

Assassin/Berserker trinkets/rings.
Arcane Brilliance/Mistform/Signet of Fire/Conjure: Frost Bow then whatever 0 spell you prefer really.

Just what I’m comfortable with.
