Why would a Charr be wearing Charr bones when there are so many human ones available around Ascalon? :p

If I remember correctly the assaulting charr army was roasted while attacking ascalon and and most of the civilians had already ran off with rorik. So no, there’s probably more charr bones there since the charr attacked with everything and breed like rabbits.

No, the charr pretty much slaughtered everyone in ascalon in gw1, that’s why the king turned all of his subjects into ghosts as the charr were capturing the city.

Rurick and the player character did escort a bunch of ascalonians to kryta, but there was already an established human kingdom before they arrived.

Maybe winged headgear would look good with the right colors. Icelord diadem might be a possibility if you have at least 24 HoM points.

Wintersday hats were very popular in Guild Wars, I’m surprised Anet didn’t continue the tradition.

There’s a lot of tradition that’s been ignored in gw2 but that’s discussion for another thread.

I’ve considered winged hood, cabalist is a bit too big and obvious for my taste.

Kashijikito.1864

One of often underlooked issues about necromancer’s defenses is the lack of stunbreak/condition remove in Deathshroud. Lack of stunbreak is kind of understandable due to foot in grave but against a necro you have freedom to freely pump him full of conditions while in DS. And when he comes out of DS it’s easy to just cc lock him and keep the conditions ticking.

It would be nice if we could get a trait that gave -80% condition duration on self during deathshroud.

Condition builds are at a pretty good place right now. They play like your typical DoT caster that you would see in any mmo.

Power builds could see some sort of boost though, I’d really like to see spectral skills get an across the board cooldown reduction, with the exception of wall of course, and maybe a cooldown reduction for deathshroud entry as well, 7 seconds as opposed to 9, and 3 seconds as opposed to 5.

The reasoning here is simple, condition builds have too many necessary traits, and they would sacrifice too much if they were to capitalize on these buffs. Meanwhile, power builds, tend to gravitate towards spectral skills anyway, so this would be a nice buff.

Deathshroud entry buff is just so that we can keep deathshroud in line with other defensive abilities.

Elite skills that make us cry

in Necromancer

Kashijikito.1864

flesh golem is quite powerful tho, it can take down enemies that most professions need help with.
then again, the biggest problem with it is that it can’t be used underwater, all elites except plague (which is so useless i never use it outside the water) can’t be used under water.
the biggest problem with elites is that it’s seen as a normal skill by Anet, they need to see them as critically powerful skills.
see them a bit like a limit break, instead of doing some normal stuff you pull all gears and take the enemy down in full force.
make plague have a constant effect when passing an area, make lich form like certain doom on the battle field.

Plague is ridiculously powerful in pvp and wvw.

Even if you’re a pure power build, it applies an AoE blind, gives you stability, and a ton of toughness and health.

It’s a fantastic initiation or escape tool.

Kashijikito.1864

What if marks could be self detonated? #2 could be used as AoE regen, (maybe add a water field effect to it too?), #3 could be used as a reliable field, and #4 could be used as a reliable blast finisher!

This opens up a ton of support options for the necro, it’s not like staff is a DPS weapon anyway, wells and deathshroud offer a lot more DPS for power builds, and it’s AoE condition application is pretty laughable compared to what other classes, or even a good epidemic can dish out.

We already have weakening shroud and enfeebling blood, as well as staff 3+4, but what if power necros had more, and easier ways to apply weakness? (weakness on crit maybe?)

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Withering_Precision

:P

Personally I don’t see what is so wrong about having vigor on necros. Necros suck the life out of their enemies, so it fits thematically too.

But since devs have made it very clear necros will never get vigor, how about we get an offensive version of it in the form of a side effect on our siphoning traits? e.g. Bloodthirst – steal 4% of your target’s endurance per hit.

It’ll be very different from vigor as if your target is low on endurance you won’t be getting much either, fits the ‘make-your-enemy-have-trouble-escaping’ image the devs want, and breathe some value into our shunned Blood Magic line.

Well actually, I was talking about this trait, but it’s a grandmaster trait in curses, a tree that most power necros tend to avoid, and even then, it’s not really a good enough trait compared to other grandmaster traits. I guess it could work as a grandmaster spite trait, but even then you’re better off taking “close to death”

As far as endurance siphoning, that would be incredibly overpowered, as there is no counter play possible. Your enemy could dodge the endurance siphon….and lose a dodge anyway, or get hit. Either way they get punished, not exactly fun to deal with, and people would cry for nerfs immediately.

We already have weakening shroud and enfeebling blood, as well as staff 3+4, but what if power necros had more, and easier ways to apply weakness? (weakness on crit maybe?) It would be a powerful defensive tool, and it’s very much in the necro style to hex an enemy, rather than buff yourself.

Another trait idea, give you and your allies might when you apply weakness. (Make the trait name imply that you’re sapping the enemy’s power and using it for your own.) his makes our poison fields more valuable as well.

Etc etc. mesmers and necros are the only ones who have 1 dominant heal, and it’s my only major complaint with both classes.

Again, thank you for your time. I have to get back to work though, I’d rather not get fired :P

The only reason I find myself grabbing it, is when I have to play bunker mm necro in tournaments, where with 10 points in death magic, I can make it give me protection as well as heals.

I’d love to be healed for 15,000 HP, and be able to heal my allies for 10,000 HP with only two CDs, neither of them amazingly high, but that just isn’t realistic to ask for. You’re asking to buff WoB by 3k healing in certain builds, with 0 trait investment necessary, all you need is healing power and two utility skills, all three of which are just fine, so its not like you lose anything really.

I mean with this + transfusion alone, I could heal anyone short of a Warrior/Necro for their entire HP bar.

Blast finisher heals heal for 1320 each. That brings the maximum healing that Well of blood can do to roughly ~9k.

I get what you mean when you say that the healing would be ridiculous, but it’s not like necros scale well with healing power anyway. Siphoning isn’t too great, transfusion scales better with power iirc, and deathshroud heals aren’t exactly noteworthy either.

My guardian can heal for 10k hp with her heal alone, she has roughly 1200 healing power last time I checked, and her heal is on a much shorter cool down. Never mind that she has crazy passive regen and she heals on dodge AND she as easy access to regen.

I find that it’s pretty impractical as a light field, you won’t be spending too much time inside of it, and curing 1 condition every 1.5 seconds (cast time on staff and DS autos) isn’t very impressive compared to the rediculous Amount of healing that consume conditions can put out. ( well of blood heals for roughly 6760 over it’s full duration, consume conditions heals for 6668 after healing only two conditions.)

Well of blood definitively has it’s place in PvE, but in pvp right now, it leaves a lot to be desired.

No, in all seriousness, I wholeheartedly agree with this and have suggested it myself in the past. It would be a much needed change, and it makes sense from every possible perspective – it would make it consistent with other similar healing skills, all of which provide water fields, and it makes sense from a thematic/flavour perspective as well: I mean if engineers can turn their healing turret into a sprinkler to provide a water field why doesn’t a WELL provide one as well?

If you agree show your support in the suggestions forum! Maybe we can get anets attention if enough people want this!

I don’t see it happening. Bone Minions + WoB turns the thing into a monstrous heal. Changing it to a water field would result in a nerf to its healing overall, which I don’t want.

That’s kind of the idea, and even if you slot bone minions, that’s two utility slots, for one combo.

Engineers also have multiple blast finishers on their bar most of the time. (Rocket boots, bomb kit, mines, turret detonation) And most of them run with healing turret too.

Well of blood as a water field?

in Suggestions

Posted by: Kashijikito.1864

Kashijikito.1864

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Well_of_Blood

Right now well of blood is the least popular of the Necromancer’s available heal spells. Not only that but Necromancer’s as a whole have very little synergy in group play, other than the ability to remove conditions off their allies with plague signet. As a water field allies could then drop blast finishers within the well to provide AoE healing to the group! I think that a small change like this, could add a lot of build variety to Necromancers, as support necros would have a huge tool at their disposal with well of blood. Healing power gear might also become more popular with necros with this change, and necros could be one step closer to the attrition class that Anet wants them to be.

Something about a necro dropping a light field doesn’t seem right either, and as morbid as it sounds, blood is a liquid. So it isn’t too far fetched.

Thoughts?

It’s interesting to note that the gap in rating between NSP and IoJ — the bottom two servers in Silver — is greater than the gap between Kaineng and AR — the top and bottom servers in Bronze.

For those people on GoM and AR: what do you think would be the state of your servers after fighting two (non-tanking) NSPs every week for 7 weeks?

It’s actually going to be worse than that for NSP: NSP will be facing servers with 250 – 500 more ratings points for 7 weeks. That’s like GoM or AR facing servers like: NSP, IoJ, CD, YB, BP, Ebay, DB for 7 straight weeks.

The difference is that both GoM and AR would nut up and keep playing.

I was just trying to get my rank higher so that I could get applied fortitude and there wasn’t really any other way to do that other than taking towers. I was also told that multiple people were building in trebs in EBG and maxed out the siege limit so no one could build any other siege. That’s just an awesome strategy to make people actually have to melee gates to take stuff. Awesome job!

Also, these people told us (since we were wanting to be in silver league) to transfer off.
