It may be possible to get those pages again and remake the book. I know out of curiosity, I looted a page from one of those ghosts despite having completed the book already.
I’ve tried that. I went out and found all the all the chapters again but the NPC doesn’t accept them.
It’s not a massive issue, I’ll jsut do it on an alt. Unless you need a character higher then level 50 for later parts.
I finished the scavenger hunt part of the Halloween event and received Mad Memories.
I then went off and did some other events. Then just before logging off I sold and Salvaged a whole of items I had found. One of which must of been the completed Mad Memories. When I logged back on I realized what I had done and that I might still need the book for the later stages of the event, so I went around and collected the six chapters again. The problem is the Magister Tassi won’t recognize I have the six chapters and just spouts the dialogue she gives you when you have an incomplete set of chapters.
Have I ruined the chances of completing the vent on this character? Is it intended that you can’t get another book if you sold/destroyed/salvaged the first one?
When your playing 2 characters simultaneously and pooling their loot together and still need to buy like 50+ of the blue drops just to get to the next tier of crafting for a single profession something is very wrong.
I done the exact same thing and by level 40 having taken them both through all the 20-35 zones I came out with 8 Small Totems. I did manage 40 odd of the other rare materials but I basically killed everything that moved that I encountered to manage that. That should be enough to get 2 of the 4 crafting professions to the next tier. I can’t even do what I did for tier 1 crafting where I bought all the inscriptions needed for crafting for less then the cost of a single rare material.
I salvage everything I find now to try and get crafting materials but I guess I am either extremely unlucky or X% to get rarer materials doesn’t mean you can get fine crafting materials from salvaging them.
As for the cooking ingredients. Getting just Butter and Chocolate from a bag is very annoying. At least when you get Walnuts and Cinnamon, which I have also filled up my storage at least 2-3 times, from trees they are “bonus” materials. Looking at my storage I have filled Butter and sold at least another 250 to a vendor as it is worthless, but Chocolate is only half full.
Firstly the mission Sabotage. I had real trouble completing the final Defend the Dredge Researcher objective, as a Norn Warrior.
The waves spawned far too soon after each other for any out of combat healing to take place. Once the Icebrood Kodan spawned I died repeatably on that wave and the wave straight after due to them inflicting burning that if left alone seemed to take around half of health. I had both the healing ability that removes conditions and Shake it Off, but as there are three or four of them I couldn’t remove the condition fast enough. So I died on that wave, came back got set on fire again but killed them and got killed by the next wave.
The rest of the waves I had trouble with but in the end using a rifle and kiting them up the ramp and jumping off I was able to defeat them, even though I had died four times in total. I don’t know how you would complete the fight without exploiting the fact the AI is stupid.
Then I went onto Assault the Hill. Ignoring the fact it’s odd that I learn of an imminent attack on the Priory and rather then going there to defend it I head back to Hoelbrak make a decision and then trudge over to the Priory.
This fight is extremely hard as well. Eir and the other NPCs don’t seem to do anything useful. I only managed it as an Engineer friend came along otherwise I would died multiple times. I had to run back across the bridge using the barricades to lose line of sight and wait for m heal to come off cooldown to stay alive several times. Going into melee combat is extremely punishing, and with so many enemies, and NPCs there is so much going on it’s hard to work out what is going on in such a small area.
I’d agree that the giant just takes too long to die, and the fact he poses zero threat to someone using a ranged weapon doesn’t help. It’s a bit like the boss in Svanir’s Dome, equip a gun start auto attacking and ALT+TAB out and get gold contribution.
For me the worst thing about this event is that having missed the beginning of it four times I have no idea why a giant is attacking. Most events you can turn up late and get a general idea of what is happening and why, but this just seems to be a giant is attacking kill it. I’ve found no real explanation of why the giant attacks the town or where it comes from.
