Out of all the issues with the new update this is the one Devon chooses to address first…

Hey Cufufalating, thanks for the kudos on the cap. I think everyone involved was pleased with it.
Although are you telling me you guys setup trebs, broke down the outer wall and north gate all just to have a fight? From an outsider looking in that would have appeared to be the behaviour of someone trying to capture the keep. I was under the impression we successfully stole the cap. However thanks for setting that right, sorry for interrupting your fight
Also our portion of that fight lasted well over an hour (the video only catches the last 30 mins) I would hardly say our intervention abruptly brought the festivities to a close.
Anyway I think everyone involved had fun and that’s ultimately what was important so thanks again folks

I don’t understand what the fuss with the seige is here. We had to clear multiple ballistas and a plethora of ACs from the walls and the Lord Room. We were also horrifically outnumbered. Did I miss the meeting saying defenders can use seige but the attackers can’t?
Yeah in most fights don’t go buiding seige that just spoils the fun. However if you face overwhelming odds and there is already tons of seige set up of course your going to use it why would you handicap yourself? It’s just a case of trying to level the playing field. This current course of objection seems to be a double standard to me.

What you didn’t see was WBC and TaG Drakkar fought all the time- that’s why you could build your arrowcarts and ballistas in the walls.
We kept in contact/co-ordinated with TaG who you can also see in that video
Was a lot of fun in Bay, although I think it was a little sad RoF ended up building seige.
Using Seige during a Seige against other Seige, what ever next? :p
You did a nice portal bomb on our siege and we did a nice portal bomb on yours, so good game. More fights like that please., maybe minus the siege if we don’t see any up already.
Agreed, thanks for the fight guys keep them coming that was really fun!

Marty I am pretty sure that is not the point Hule was making. He is saying that in our current position there is almost a 200k difference between us and the servers below. This divide means that we have a unique position when it comes to the matchups. As a result we are always faced with servers above us and not one above and one below. So yeah I don’t think anyone is “crying.”
Frankly I don’t give a flying f*** who we are matched up against as long as whoever it is can fight. More open field fights and less blobbing is what I would like to see in all of RoFs matchups. Winning on ppt would be nice but ultimately imo that is not where the fun lies.
Anyway happy hunting!

I won’t be updating the vote again. It seems to be quite clear what the consensus of the WvW Community is. This vote only indicates the active forums members opinion of the buff. However one thing that should be considered by Anet is that anyone who has such an interest in WvW that they spend their time when not playing it on the forums really have a vested interest.
My personal opinion of the buff is that it will be extremely detrimental to the game. Unfortunately it will give the larger servers an unfair advantage. Before my time in WvW stat buffs were trialled and failed due to the imbalance caused in favour of the stronger servers. Just because you change the mechanic by which they are received doesn’t negate the problems that they cause.
This will also ruin a thriving community of Guild vs Guild players. Whatever your opinion is of the people who are active in this community both the players and Anet should understand that they are WvW players as well. They don’t GvG all the time and spend most of their active game time in WvW.
The real way to discourage blobbing is to introduce new maps and lower the player caps on each as this will cause the blobs to spread out. However this will not fix the problems with the match ups as the server with the most numbers will most likely always win.
That being said though I play on Ring of Fire. As WvW communities go we are quite small but tight knit. Basically every week recently we have had some pretty poor match ups. Caring about the PPT is pointless. What keeps us playing WvW is the skill involved when we fight. Meeting blobs in open field combat and taking them down even when facing 2 or 3 times our numbers. When the fights become tipped even more in our adversaries favour this will be ruined.
What really needs to happen is the developer’s need to create some test servers for WvW. This would allow their ideas to be properly tested prior to being implemented into the game. Getting real feedback from players on what works and what doesn’t. Otherwise how can the developer’s truly know what sort of effect anything will have on the balance of their game.

Hey SuLor,
What reasoning would they have for that? I’m not saying your wrong I just can’t see why that would help gameplay etc. in anyway!

Hey folks,
Can we change the colour of our ascended weapons when we craft them? I would like to be able to choose the colour at the point of crafting. I am not expecting some mad chameleon weapon but I would like the choice initially. Is this the case?
Currently my understanding is the colour depends on what stat choice you make. So if this is correct why not just make it that you can choose the colour when you craft it? After all the skins are identical just not the colours.

Hi I think it’s great to see this level of response about the issues in wvw. What I personally think would ease a lot of peoples frustrations is a timeline which showed roughly when certain things are going to implemented. Obviously this would be very rough but it would show people what they can expect to be coming and when they can sort of expect it. Might help people chill out, understand that the developers are doing something and then let them get on with.
I think the problem is we get very minimal information where as other elements of the game are informed very frequentally. This gives WvW players the impression we are being forgotten about when in fact I am sure (clearly demonstrated by Devon’s comments) that we are not

I agree. I think that the WXP trait system should be account bound but you be able to chose different skills for each character. So your rank is account bound but the skill points aren’t. So if your rank 100 you would have 100 points to spend on each character.
The reason for this is that you might want different skills if you have different roles for your characters.
Also someone mentioned resetting your skills which is a bit off topic but agreed with above. That is just two things to fix. WVW skills should be viewed like traits. You might have to visit someone and pay a negligible fee but you should skill be able to do it

Dawdler like GUI and still think we need this implemented!
Kylar | Leader of Coordinated Chaos [CC] | Ring of Fire Server
Yeah agreed. The developers have mentioned how they are trying to decrease the amount of zerg vs zerg. Here is an idea that would really help this. By encouraging people to roam in smaller private groups.
Beats control+Ting the commander every time he wps….
