Jewelcrafting 500 on march 18th?

I would imagine that the most sensible level 500 jewelcrafting items would be ascended versions of the upgrade jewels. So something like combining 10 ruby jewels to make an ascended ruby

Finally Understand who GW2 Demographic is!

I skimmed through the thread and this was the message I got:

Physical age has nothing to do with mental maturity. On the one hand we have 50 year olds saying they love the content. And then on the other we have 40 year olds who hate it and (presumably) are tired of life. That to me tells me…it’s less about aiming towards a certain demographic but more about….certain people needing to just plain and simple grow up. You would have thought by now that someone who’s nearly 40 would be able to handle something different in a manner according to their age but clearly that’s not the case.

Summary: Grow up. End of Story.

SAB: Ok what kind of game is this?

I never understood why people complain about something that they’re not forced to do. If I find a game lousy enough to complain this hard about it… i’d simply not play it. And if there’s an aspect of the game that I don’t enjoy…. I don’t do it.

There is a small difference between two things: Complaining at an aspect of the game that makes it unplayable or makes the game play SEVERELY detrimental such as botters, character/class bugs.

OR, complaining at an aspect of the game that you dislike according to personal opinion.

This april fool event is entirely a matter of personal taste/opinion and so far I can’t see why it would be detrimental to someone’s gameplay whatsoever. Yes: the chests appearing in open world are silly in nature, but does it affect you being able to do everything else that you would be able to do? No. It has zero impact whatsoever other than your own eyes telling you that something doesn’t fit, similar to how it’s a matter of personal opinion whether pink and green go together.

Mega Boss loot changes

The way I understand it is that you’ll still be able to get the 1 boss chest per character that contains a random assortment of loot. But you’ll only be able to get 1 guaranteed yellow item per day. Which means you can still do all the bosses on each character. You just wont be guaranteed 50 yellows if you do 10 bosses on 5 characters. The yellow rate from the “normal” chest will be the normal yellow drop rate. So you may get a yellow or you may not :p

SO! basically they stopped people from farming maw 100 times a day by limiting the chests per character. But to compensate they gave people a guaranteed rare thinking they’d only do like ~ 10 per day. But it turns out people ended up doing 50 per day! So now they realised that people would start to abuse it they reverted chest loot back to normal :p

I think you’ll like elementalist.

It takes skill to play – I would tick a box on that one…you have 4 attunements each which have a purpose. Being in the right attunement at the right time is important if you want to play an elementalist effectively:

Fire: Damage, Water: Healing/Support, Air: Speed and Evasion, Earth: Defensive/Condition Damage.

The weapons you choose determines your play style. So staff has long range aoe and support. Daggers are in your face and gives great mobility and melee support. Scepter is somewhere in between i guess.

I had a guardian originally. But I got talked into playing elementalist by a friend and fell in love with it ever since. Maybe you’ll enjoy it too!

How about get a working diminishing returns system before daring to say anything about diminishing returns.

Sync your lasers as best you can so that one firing takes the shield down.

If everyone is on their game you should be able to jump into the middle, blow up your entire skill set on him in the 5~10 seconds that he is vulnerable. with 5 people all nuking him as best they can at once it takes about 10% of his life. Repeat once per minute~ 10 minutes fight. As a greatsword guardian I run into melee and jump up and down the platform roughly 10 times to finish the fight. Leap for 1-2k damage, whirlwind for 4k damage, a burn for 2-3k, a consecrate for another 2k damage, 3 or 4 melee hits for another 2-3k damage. That’s any where between 15-20k damage on him in a combo as MELEE.

The only reason that I can think of that your member said “this is how other groups are doing it” is that their jumping skills arent quite good enough to jump in and out consistently without dying. If you’re not that good at doing jumping puzzles, vistas and the like, then you will take half an hour to do this boss because those people wont do any damage to the boss.

Token number - Not getting 60 for every first path

Yep. 2 runs a day I hardly would call abusing or speed running. I logged in this evening after work so I had not run anything all day since yesterday.

From these TWO runs of a dungeon, both different paths.

1st Member: 120
2nd Member: 90
3rd Member: 75
4th Member: 75
5th Member: 105

All members had only done the dungeon twice in TOTAL for that day. Patch notes state that players should be recieving 60 tokens for the first time they run a particular route per dungeon per day.

Why is there a discrepancy on official statements compared to the patch notes? This has nothing to do with diminishing returns on speed running and is clearly a bug.

I quote the content designer: “Diminishing Returns system”. So. We have an exact same group who runs a dungeon in the exact same time (1st run took 1 hour 30 minutes because of a B U G), the second an hour like it was supposed to. Yet, all of us recieved different rewards for the same time we spent playing the game. Tell me why I get only 75 tokens for my time when somebody else who’s done the exact same thing as me gets 120. Diminishing Returns? yeah, more like diminishing bugs.

Submarine Route takes anywhere between 40-50 minutes with a good group.
Teleport Route takes roughly an hour with a good group
Front Door takes 1 hour 10-15 minutes also with a good group.

Submarine alpha does a tooth thingy that hits people in a cone. Best way to avoid this is to stand in melee. Bring 1 or 2 support traits so you can aoe heal the burn he does.

Teleport Alpha does an earthquake so all you have to do is dodge it before the spikes come out.

Front Door Alpha does both and is really just very frustrating because as soon as you dodge out of an earthquake you roll into the tooth.

People in crystal prisons dont take damage from earthquakes until the crystal is almost broken, so try to delay killing them until earthquake is over or they’ll die.

(Btw brewbeer – where have you been? i need you for more runs :P)
