Hey I am in the same boat, I hadn’t played the game in years, linked my account and the stuff didn’t show up so i tried to log in because people said it might help. Then I noticed it was blocked
I too no longer have the serial keys as it was years ago.
I do hope something can be done about this, although I know that tickets like this wont get looked at until the hacked/blocked accounts are all fixed up
Bumping is indeed not allowed but I think its more because people usually do it because it annoys others.
About your issues though, I agree with this. But as of this moment with all the trouble they are going through right now, its not strange that they don’t tell you exactly because it would take away from time used to fix the problems that they currently have
Further every case of someone screaming, or just plain saying they did nothing are asked for their character names and then Gaile himself would post what was said, this has been offered in several threads, but not once has someone actually said their character name (Correct me if I am wrong, I might have missed one saying it)
I do hope that in the future you recieve in an email explainging “hey you were just banned/suspended for doing THIS, at this time.” You know, so that people know what they did and the forums stay cleaner, but they have to start somewhere and the banned accounts have priority as they are security breaches

Hey, I will try to write this in easy english to help you.
1. Your account might be hacked, and the hacker used a tool like that.
2. A virus scanner or other program on your computer might look like a program that is not allowed.
You should send them a ticket because the forum wont be able to help much

I strongly encourage you to contact Support to ask about a refund rather than submitting a “charge back” on your credit card. We will work with you on the matter of a refund. Please note that getting a refund or doing a charge back can have long-term consequences on your account. I advise that you learn about that before starting the process, although of course you are welcome to do as you choose.
This would be great advice, if Support would ever respond…
As it has been stated in the daily updates, they are working with hacked and blocked accounts first. I am sure they will get to these issues soon and I hope so too since I don’t want to lose all my fellow players
But yeah I would recommend waiting just a little while longer and letting them sort out the hacked accounts first? Then you would be able to see if they are willing to help, right?

Please do not bump posts, I can understand that things like this are very annoying but at the moment the devs are prioritizing hacked and blocked accounts over anything else.
Unplayable accounts should maintain the same priority
I agree, but obviously they are just swamped with what they have, I hope they fix things up soon

You should be able to put your pointer over his name and it should show his character name, although I thought you could send mail to account names too. Could be wrong though
I also want to ask if it is worth waiting for the guild? (I know you like the name ofc) But how much guild influence did you spend? If lots than I understand but if not a lot than maybe just remake the guild?
I have a question that may be stupid but I don’t see the info here, when was the priority ticket sent? Are your times based on that ticket or the ticket you sent before?

Hey guys, I have been checking in other forums as well (since the hacking started before this forum came up) there are a lot of people with this problem and I think way more than they first thought. They have to look through hundreds of accounts and check if the ban was proper or if it was hacked and who hacked them, followed by IP bans and the likes to make sure it wont happen the moment they reopen the account
All I can say is protect your account if it is not hacked yet and protect it once you get it back if it was. new emails and passwords together with the 2 point log in system for email (requiring a text message being sent to your phone to unlock your email address from a new pc)
Hey MM, your best bet is to open a ticket and wait, hacked accounts have priority right now, but the forum admins cant help with these kind of things as this is a forum meant for account related issues.
Hopefully they can help you out though

Wow, fanboys will be fanboys. I just want to know why I was banned. I’m really dissappointed by A Nets support and I remember it being fine in GW1. If I really was banned for those names, this company is rediculous and I will totally be getting a refund.
Hmm who are the fanboys? :P I don’t agree with Arena net if that was the reason I just know some people that would complain about a name like that.
I sure hope it was something better though as I might not agree with those being good names, that would be my opinion and not based on them being offensive or what not.

if you mean the password and email recovery its because they are busy with hacked accounts and have that turned off atm so that more don’t get hacked while they are busy

yeah, they stated just today I think it was that they are working on getting the stuff back, but they also have to deal with all the hacked (or attempted hacked) accounts
there is a good reason that because it is two different names that are not allowed (I don’t know if they are or are not) that they escalated it to a two mark suspension instead of a 1 mark? It could be
all issues regarding the trading post and black lion are being fixed up, some others are having problems like this and it was stated that they are working hard to reimburse everyone of this problem
it was stated earlier that 5-7 days is average, although the hacked accounts are getting prioritized so it is strange that it is taking to long but it could be they are working on it, as a LOT of accounts got hacked very fast due to some very evil hackers

I don’t know if they do it with two names but they have stated that if enough seperate claims (different names, multiple vulgar conversations) BEFORE the original suspension gets set up than yes it was stated it gets escalated into a larger suspension or even a ban
What do you mean exactly? Through the log in portal you can change your password, there is just no password recovery right now to stop hackers atm

Yes but what im saying is even though people are being reimbursed it doesnt really stop the issue of being charged twice for the same item. In my case when i bought the keys initially it looked like i didnt click on the Confirm button quick enough when in fact i had its just there was no notification that the transaction went through so i tried again at which point i ended up buying 2x 5 Keys instead of 1. Reimbursed is fine but bottom line is whats the point if someone does the same with items they dont want 2 of or even more.
I agree and I do hope that they notice it and just reimburse reset with gem store (so do not give any items, just the gems back) that way nothing would be wrong and things would go back to before things were clicked multiple times.
That would work right?
This is just a problem a lot of people are getting, I would say just keep trying to do it and hope it works, are you in the EU? As we seem to be having the most problems with this error

They should be suspending any further transactions from being placed in order to prevent anymore people from having to go through the same situation that arent aware of the issue and hence buying an item more than once thinking it hasnt gone through but then again i guess that wouldnt be in Anet’s interest the more people multiple purchase the more gems wasted the more gems need to be rebought. I mean why else is the Gem store still live if people arent getting what they are paying for?
Everything is getting reimbursed for those who are having problems, but a lot of people are able to use both the trading post and the gem store with no problem

The people who were banned for inappropriate names or language who then come to the forums to complain that they were wrongly banned are either (a) trying to pretend they did nothing wrong or (b) not able to comprehend that offensive names or strings of obscenities aren’t funny to everyone.
MMOs attract all kinds of maturity levels. Unfortunately ArenaNet has to play virtual parent and teach some folks how to interact in social settings because apparently some players haven’t been taught that yet.
Agreed. I just feel sorry for Arena net who probably feel bad right now because people are trying to make them seem like the bad guys where as they are doing their jobs correctly and should be praised for it

I think people need to differentiate between a “ban” or a “suspension”. If it is not final, its is a suspension, if you can never log on again, it is a ban. I agree that at this point they should remove all suspensions as it seems many people, including myself, are getting suspended for things we haven’t actually done. But keep the bans as it keeps the hackers from using stolen accounts.

A simple email, stating what had been done, would surly help. All these people suspended fur cursing would know exactly what they said. I truly believe many of them don’t remember the things they said. In my case however, I have been banned for defrauding someone of in-game items, currency, or services. Now there is no possible way anything I have done while playing solo up to this point could be interpreted in such a way. If they took the time to send emails out explaining these things, they would catch them selves before mistakenly suspending innocent parties, and avoid so many un happy customers.
Yeah in your case I am sure that it has to be a mistake if you never came into contact with others (like me I am too busy enjoying the game with my brother, I even have map chat turned off so I don’t get annoyed by other people)
An email stating (for example with a language issue) What was said, or what character name was considered inappropriate would help with a lot of the “I am innocent” “oh wait, yeah I did say that, that one time.” As they would now know before posting here what they did wrong
I dunno, it seems to me like a lot of these can be solved by sheer common sense, or thinking about what you’re writing before you do. Just because in previous games one hasn’t gotten banned for language doesn’t justify its use everywhere. It’s rather easy to think to oneself hey, you know that bad word/racial slur/can be viewed as offensive term thing that I’m about to type in? Yeah, let me not use that!
And that solves ALL the problems. No usage, no reporting, no ban.
Agreed, most games SHOULD be banning or suspending for this as it actually is a breach of code of conduct for those games too but I guess the devs just don’t care, I am glad ours do
and common sense is always good to use, in RL a slip of the tongue happens because it happens before you think, in a game though you have to type it which means you have to think about it and couldn’t actually be called a slip of the tongue anymore tbh

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was your account name tbh, that name can be considered quite vulgar and falls into the zone of a breach of the code of conduct and if you had any other character names that were considered inappropriate than yeah it would be a perma ban instead of a shorter one.

Ahh ok yes I admit I was thinking US as they are based in CA and I am in the US. As for why your issue competes I suspect the billing/account department are the same department for all account issues related to ownership and billing of accounts but that’s just a guess.
Yes, account and Billing are usually the same team as it allows more people to due which of the two is most needed.
I do hope that it gets fixed quickly for you but I fear it will take some more time
This was posted in the daily update page thingy that this is a known issue and they are working really hard to get everyone their items as they have logs of all of this, you might end up with hundreds of those bags though as you kept clicking the buy button

Its a stackable account bound item (meaning you can collect them on alts as well) that can be stored in your bank
Heh I kinda agree with you both here. It would be nice for a place like this, but as it would be hard to moderate who goes on those servers you would still end up with people having a problem with it.
Especially as I am an adult and I still don’t want to see people swearing the whole time, I mean even I swear IRL sometimes, but that is more like stubbing my toe and yelling out something vulgar, typing it out means you mean to say something rude or just plain hateful.
Over all, I agree with the next to no swear policy.

They will refund this, as it happened to other people as well, but as of this moment they are working on all cases for hacked accounts and the likes, so tickets like this gets pushed down the line and will be dealt with later.
They are legally required to give you your money back but not the when as this is something that still needs to be checked out
All I can say is to hold on to your tickets and whenever the hacking attempts die down they can deal with other tickets

Judging by the fact they said they are getting all the items to the respective people I doubt they will give you a real reply until the reply that it has been fixed up for you, otherwise it just costs extra time.

Yep this should be no problem what so ever, as long as both accounts use a different serial code (which unless you can hack their system has to have different codes) and that allows you to play both accounts on the one computer, I do not know however what their standing is on playing both accounts on the one pc at the same time though

The reason that most people are banned is because their account was hacked, unbanning those would give them back to the hackers so that wouldn’t help.
I understand that a lot of people are having problems as well, but the Arena net team is only so big and I am sure (from what I have seen) they are working very hard and seem to be almost working 24/7

This should be no problem what so ever as the game is the same, its just the difference that the cd version usually come with a few patches on them that were available when the cds or dvds were made, but it all updates to the same version

This sounds like her account was hacked and the password and email changed, has she checked her mail inbox and spam folder for any emails regarding this, like one stating that the email was changed as this gets sent to the old email address (the one she used to sign up)
This could be because they are prioritizing all tickets about hacked and blocked accounts over any other issue, as you can still play where as others can not, all I can suggest is keep in there and they will get to it. I think the speed in which accounts are getting hacked is much greater than ever expected
yeah, it takes only a few minutes and you can even have it remember your own pc if you want so you don’t need the text message every time you use it yourself at home
Wow, yeah I am feeling happy that I set up a separate email, password, username you name it and that my email needs a text message from my phone to open, haven’t received any such emails.
hopefully this gets fixed soon
It says it will be restored in 28 hours so hopefully that is the part that is right and the other is indeed an error, hopefully
