I think instead of removing energy cost, they should increase energy cost and remove cd completely or keeping at the max of 5 secs. It makes more sense that way.

I feel that Mallyx’s elite should change to something like doubling stacks of condition output instead of torment ticks. But of course, increasing the upkeep cost similar to impossible odds. This way it would make more sense to keep the Elite on.

For example,
AA/weapon procs gives 2 stacks of torment instead of 1 during the upkeep period .In this way, Rev could effectively do something like a burst condition damage in a short time.

But this is a lazy idea, which directly changes Mallyx into a condition version of Shiro which is also bad since again it forces users to AA all the way.

It is up to your personal choice. For starters, i would go for accuracy, cause it is much cheaper and i like to keep my crit chance above 40%, otherwise i would need to swap cavalier out for zerker.

Force is nice but it is better for long fights. For short fights, it is better to use sigil of air instead.

Bloodlust should be slotted in your second weapon set, e.g. staff. as you would still enjoy the benefit for it.

For Soothing Bastion, using any shield skills should increase every existing boons by 2 seconds.

You had fury uptime because you traited for it, but you lose another means of condi clear, if i had use the same traits, i could get the same fury uptime. How do you get quickness without Shiro? Using any 2 legendaries?

Protection comes from shield4/facet of nature/facet of chaos/ Easily 100% if you want it too. Durability gives additional protection on top of it.

Using Dwarf stance? It doesnt make sense either, since it only gives stabilityboon, which isnt essential for PvE. Then the player wouldn’t be making full use of their boon duration perks they have with commander/leader runes.
Then why should they make a gear set specifically for boon duration then use a build which doesn’t not really uses boon? Wouldn’t they be better using other gear sets? If you are only using commander/leader runes for quickness only, then you are defeating the whole purpose of it.

To be honest, 84% and 95% crit chance has about the same amount of critical rates. It doesn’t make any significant differences in terms of dps, assuming crit dmg is the same. IMO, 84% crit chance with 200% would perform much better than 95% crit chance with 165%.

Revenants doesn’t have many weapon choice either, I am sure you wouldnt use mace or hammer in a melee build, which leaves us with sword/axe/staff/shield. But it doesn’t matter either, because Rev’s main damage come from AA, offhand is mainly for additional sustain or mobility. Since you are specc-ing for self-sustainability in a power build, it doesn’t make sense to use axe either as it provides mobility instead of sustain.

In your second build, you had to sacrifice 35% of crit damage and 2k hp to gain about 10% crit chance and 90 atk with 21% more boon duration? In this way, you had suffered a great amount of sustain/dps for more boon duration.

To be fair, I had ran commander equipment with leadership before. Unless you plan on being on a boon bot for a party with Herald, it isn’t that efficient in general PvE, because it benefits more towards party than self sustain. Dont get me wrong, it is a great build, but it is not that good for solo-ing. The build you provided is much better for group play, it isn’t worth the effort for solo-ing in PvE. Not everyone likes to grind for gears like this in a non-competitive settings.

The reason why thief has 900 range is because of their insane mobilty, no other class can match DD mobility.

Increase initiative to 24 and 30 when traited? Thats too much, i could just simply equipped dual staff with runes of warrior and spam 5 all the way.

Comparing thieves to revanent skills is irrelevant, whenever revenant switches they starts at 50%, using a stun break in shiro or a cc utility instantly wipes the energy bar. Not to mention that there cds on the skills, which doesnt allow rapid spamming.

2.2k atk, 2.7k armour, 80% duration (with an 20% boon duration food), 84% crit chance with fury, 200% crit damage,70% protection uptime or more. (Runes of durability actually gives about 7s, facet of nature gives about 9s, shield4 gives about 5s with soothing bastion)

You can get 10s of quickness this method too, every second shiro gives 1.75s of quickness. Quickness stacks up to 5 stacks, which is 8.75s of quickness, with soothing bastion, it gives your 10.75s quickness.

Moreover, runes of leadership takes at least a week to farm in WvW where runes of durability takes about a day in AB if you really want.

Try it.

Too much concentration, too expensive, it isnt newbie friendly. Especially for runes of leadership.

If you really want duraation, you can go for sth like this instead:

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vlAQNAsXGW0UI2xcm20OgA0A7CmwGC-TRSBABUq+DFPCA+3f475PFp8DgTAAe6DiQJ4CHBASB41UL-e

This way you wont lose too much dps, yet you have nearly 100% duration, just change zerkers to cavalier or valkyrie if you wish to have more toughness and vitality.

Swap leadership for durability for more protection uptime together with vit and toughness:

About 90% boon duration, Close to Zerk dps, 18k hp, 2.5k armour with higher protection uptime.

Theoretically, every losses can be an l2p issue, but what is l2p again?

It is pretty sickening that how you promote Rev as if it god-mode in PvP, where every top tier Rev wouldn’t die in a top tier match up due to its active defenses while being able to kill every other players due to it insane dps and any loss by Rev should be a l2p issue.

I am definitely no pro player, but i feel nerfs towards Rev has gone abit far this time, even a stun break was given to Mallyx, Power Rev would still be in meta for Revs, simply because it is more rewarding to play as a Power rev correctly than Condi Rev.

But i am pretty kitten sure that you would still insist it is l2p issue.

So stealthing indefinitely makes it op? Does stealthing kill mobs/players? It just merely allow you to disengage and thats all. In fact all class can easily kill thief or tank backstab.

Warrior – could facetank a thief combo with endure pain not necessary) ,a combo of #3 and #4 from gs would down a zerk/marauda thief.

Guadian – Always have been a counter for thief, not to mention with insane burning dmg now.

Ele – with protection and mad amount of healing, thief cant usually one shot them, even if thief goes into stealth, they have so many AOE skills to spam which also hits like truck. Would be able to down thief easily in stealth if the fight is in a small area.

Engineer – they either have too many cc or conditions. Turrets would kill thief too, oh and they can force reveal thief locations.

Mesmer – currently OP? Has stealth, clones and invulnerability, high burst dmg and could easily apply confusion, which really kills thief quickly

Ranger- depends on their build. Condis rangers hard counters to thief, power rangers are easier to kill but situational, depending who is able to jump on the other party.

Necro – condi burst plus fear. Tanky class which is able to drag fight, which thief is bad at. DS necro can kill thief in 2-3 life blast lol.

So in which way is thief op? Just because of indefinitr stealth? Some profession can easily down a zerker thief in about 2 -3 hits, maybe 4 -6 hits on maruader

People hates thief so much why?

Yup true, it defeats the whole purpose of stealth. I dont think any profession should have any reveal debuff, but instead make it to show the trail of the stealth player like spectral walk etc.

Actually both sides has their own relevant points, but i think a higher hp pool wouldnt help againt condis not burst dmg.

Thief doesnt have much reliable condi removal, now with all condis being able to stack, it would just take about 5 seconds to down a thief in a condi spec. Burning hurts like hell right now, not include bleeding poison and other dmg condis.

Eventually a higher hp pool would drag the match 1 or 2 secs more, it wouldnt solve the main issue here either, bad play would still be bad play and thief would still be bad.

I am suggesting

1) resilient in shadows could also provide some condi dmg mitigation like maybe 30 to 50% in stealth?

2) Meld with shadows could make stealth skills last a second longer and decrease reveal duration by a sec?

3) Making blinds stackable?

4) Endless stamina to give 100% effectiveness?

5) Maybe introducing a new trait that would increase the dodge frame of dual skills?

6) Upper hand grants initiative and clear a condi upon a sucessful evade?

7) Quick pockets also grants stealth swiftness upon switching weapons?

The list could go on, but yeah in conclusion raising hp pool wouldnt really help much besides dragging the fight. Thief isnt really suitable for drag fights

I think the necro complain is against mesmer’s stealth not against thief. 3 life blast from necro would down a thief in pvp. Not including condi burst/transfer they could do, dont think necro has any issues against thief.

Thief do need some buff on survival, i feel so weak when i got down by just one WW from warrior from near full hp lol.

Well i didnt mean a necro could do that, but just imagine in wvw or boss fight, where conditions could effectively stack much more than that, like several class applying conditions together its gaming changing for conditions players. Maybe not so much in necro prospect, but as compared to previous patch as to dmg conditions is capped at 25 or duration(main reason why people dont use conditions in pug) i think this patch would make necro bringing more team support in pve instead of killing it.

GS/Rifle build

in Warrior

Kevin.5980

Well, i didnt really put doylat signet in the build. The 3 utlities i put were berserker stance, endure pain and last balance. Thats why i mention i have 5 stances, tgt with 2 from the triats. Lol. Must have been some bug with the link i post, or i put it wrongly.

I wouldnt use cleansing ire in this build because arching slice and killing shot is pretty unreliable. For example, if i were to use killing shot. I would most probably by sniping far away, where it is unlikely i would receive conditions. Arching slice just isnt that great, since i am mainly camping in rifle.

Yeah, conditions kills me pretty fast. Usually against heavy condi professions, i would use purity + generousity. I might even take away leg specialist for brawler recovery.

I too feel leg specialist is abit redundant. It is only good to provide some sort of cc in range for your team, or prevent other peeps from running.

I tried hoelbrak and melandru both before, both of them provided near same dps tho. With armour attack, i got about 2.1k atk whereas with hoelbrak i too get 2.1k attack. Might stack isnt really that attractive, since only signet of rage provided me with might.

I was thinking if heigthen focus is worth investing, since i dont really use burst skill that often. 15% crit chance with almost as good as a fury, tgt with fury i can get about 80 to 90% crit.

Well, if the enemy gets into my face. Which is usually guardians and theif, i would pop endure pain and use my hundred blades immediatelly, ww and skill4. This would do substantial dmg to them unless they dodge away, which is also pretty much my plan. Then i will use rifle skills to shoot them again lol.

This build in fact works pretty well against ranger on 1v1, since we have healing signet and higher health pool, together with endure pain, i would usually win in the long range battle. This build also work against eng in 1v1. Volley shots are pretty painful when combine with sigil of fire.

Well, actually miku didnt use ele as a reason to buff warriors. He was referring that his dps was much lower than the past due to the uncalled nerf. I am pretty sure that in his op he didnt say buff warrior because ele is better.

He wasnt even really talking about buffing it, as he mention it multiple times, it was reverting the nerf back to the way it was.

By nerfing warriors, does it made other professions better off? Did other Professions dps increase mircaculously?

On the contrary, does buffing warrior make others dps drop dramatiscally?

Like what miku has previously said, the nerf to the warriors did not make other profession any stronger. He understands the issues of other professions, that is why aNet should have buff them instead of nerfing warriors. Also miku’s suggestion didnt really turn warrior to hax0rs PVE OP monsters.

What dominik is saying is that warriors have banners, everything else is irrelevant. Dps doesnt matter at all because warrior have banners. You cant buff warriors because warrior have banners. Ele could provide might but warrior have banners, guardians have active defense support but warrior have banners, eng have perm swiftness and vulnerability stack but warrior have banners, theif have stealth but warrior have banners, mesmer have portal but warrior have banner.

Oh and warrior can solo too. If warriors were to get buff, other professions cant solo anymore. So in order to make other class able to solo contents, warrior should deserve a nerf further more, any more buff towards warrior will remove the capability of other professions to do solo.

This is build is specifically for pvp.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fJAQJAUBIILoQP4BQBcKqV+D5QqJA-TphFwAAeAAKOCArvAAJOEATLDAa/BA

The main idea here was to main rifle, without using the burst skill. Killing shot casting takes too long to cast and is often easily mitigated in by CC or dodge.

Auto attacks with rifle crits appoximately 1k, with the sigil of fire to increase the dps. Staying out of enemy range is one of the key element of survival. Use skill 2 then 4 then 3, other then that just keep AA. With 5 stances, you can keep getting constant vigor, which allows you to dodge pretty often.

If the enemy gets too close, you can either use skill 5 on rifle to push them back and volley shot or pop endure pain and Hundred blades in their face. Thats why with hydromancy, it slows them and they would probably eat about 3to5 hits, especially theives lol afterwhich just WW through them and throw you gs towards then and switch back to rifle. This should put some distance away.

This build works pretty in big areas that you can use your gs skills efficiently.

The only bad thing about this build is conditions and small areas. You dont really have tons of con cleansing, rifle doesnt work well in small areas too. Its better to switch rifle to hammer, if you know the map has many small areas.

Feel free to leave some comments, please dont however, sugguest using bows or other weaps. Thankssssss

Actually dominik makes absolute sense, i guess we should further nerf hundred blades by another 50%,then maybe buff banners 10%.

I think this change would still be balance because warrior can still solo, taken into speed run and needed only for support.

25 % increase on last hit is too much anyways. Hundred blades is divided into 2 parts. First part is where gs hit for 5 times, and 2nd part is last hit. kittens reduction by 5% isnt equivalent to 25 , it is still 5.

Consider this equation:
100 x (5 × 5%) = 500 × 5%

Total hundred blades dmg nerf is actually less than 5%, considering the nerf is only towards one part of the skill.

That is why the nerf was almost redundant, if aNet did not published it, i believe it was not noticeable.

But seriously tho, why the nerf ? Dont really like warrior to being a support class. I rather nerf the banners and have a dmg based warrior. A warrior being like a warrior, instead of a support class lol.
