Guesting itself has nothing to do with the issue at hand, and that is my point.
Guesting = the ability to play with friends on other home worlds, no WvW allowed
World Transfer = moving your character to a new home world, WvW allowed
Ending free world transfers is a big deal if you ask me, and should deserve its own dedicated announcement. Mark my words, come 01/28/2013, these forums are going to blow up from unhappy gamers who felt deceived / wronged by ArenaNet not informing players of this change in a more direct approach.
Please read my post again — I’m not upset that free world transfers are ending, I’m upset that ArenaNet hasn’t made a “good faith” attempt to inform their players that this is occurring on 01/28/2013. That is the shady part. If you don’t read this blog post, you have no idea that this is occurring and you’ll get “stuck” on another server having to buy / spend gems when that could have been avoided with proper notice.
ArenaNet,
Hidden within the “Guesting is Coming” blog post is a very important announcement stating that free world transfers would also be ending on 01/28/2013. For players not interested in guesting features, they may not read this blog post and wouldn’t know they have until that date to transfer to another server prior to the gem fee.
This seems like a blatant attempt to increase gem purchases by not properly informing your players. Something this important should deserve a separate announcement within the game launcher at the very minimum. In addition, your previous world transfer announcement is still sitting there at the top of the page stating world transfers are limited to once every 7 days — which is still accurate, but there is no update to this page stating they will be ending on 01/28/2013. Was this intentional?

Please create a separate announcement regarding the ending of free world transfers, or at the very least, update the previous announcement so players don’t get “stuck” on a world they don’t want to stay on, especially because this change directly impacts WvW.
Thank you!

before you get me stupidly banned Khaos, please talk to the PLAYERS before reporting on allegedly botting. I enjoy farming unlike most people (i have a legendary duh lol) and i farm there quite often and might look boring, and i have yet to see a bot on the blackgate server there cause well I farm there very often lol (probably 1-3 hours a day) . though thanks for helping ruin one of my farm spots :/
Edit: I’ll like to add in – upon doing personal research – barracudas appear more often. That is all + the fact each one can summon even more – it not uncommon for me to kill 10-15 from only 4 original mobs
Don’t worry, I wasn’t referring to you. Besides, why would you automatically assume I was reporting you in the first place? Not to be nit-picky, but farming there 1-3 hours a day (a day containing 24 hours…) isn’t exactly a lot of time to determine if bots are farming a particular spot. They come and go throughout the day to minimize the chances of being reported. Also, this spot in Frostgorge Sound has been a great spot to farm armored scales since beta and everyone already knows about it — just google it if you don’t believe me. It isn’t like I gave away the cure for cancer or anything.
It is quite easy to spot the bots in question on the Blackgate server. There are usually 3-5 rangers clumped together, all swimming the same short path over and over again and don’t respond to whispers. That said, I have not seen them farming there again since reporting them all last week, so that is a good sign.
I would put my wager on underwater bots as well. There are a ton of bots in Frostgorge Sound farming armored scales from the barracudas under the Dimotiki Waypoint on the Blackgate server. I imagine other servers will have them too. Sad really…
I should also mention that the Trap Potency trait no longer appears to be working either. The tooltip correctly changes from a 15 second cooldown to a 12 second cooldown, but the real cooldown is still stuck between 24 or 25 seconds.
Flame Trap was mysteriously ninja nerfed in the Nov 15th patch. The tooltip shows a 15 second cooldown, or 12 second cooldown if using the Trap Potency trait, but in reality the cooldown has increased to 24 or 25 seconds. That said, the Trap Potency trait doesn’t seem to be affecting this newly increased cooldown either. Bug or intended feature?
I noticed the same thing when I logged in after the patch…
I just noticed that the Flame Trap skill for my ranger states it will take 12 seconds to cooldown, yet after using the skill it takes 24 seconds to cooldown. This started occurring after the November 15th patch.
I seem to recall that you get a network error when your total buy order exceeds the amount of money you have. For example, if I wanted to buy 1 gold worth of materials using a buy order, but I only have 95 silver, I do believe that will trigger the error you encountered.
"Raw Candy Corn" harvesting nodes briefly visible after Halloween special event
Posted by: Khaos.6512
Today is 11/2/2012, and I am currently playing my level 49 ranger in the Diessa Plateau zone on the Blackgate server. On occassion, I see “Raw Candy Corn” node text when I hold my left-Control key. It is only visible for a split second when it occurs and then vanishes. The actual candy corn model for the node itself is not visible, just the text that would normally be hovering above it.
Has anyone experienced this?
EDIT: Actually, after seeing this occur even more, the 3D model for the raw candy corn harvesting node is in fact visible as well for the same amount of time the node text is visible. How strange.
