TL;DR in bold on the bottom.
Then the shock.
Two rooms in a row FULL of enemy mobs. We wiped. Multiples times. Usually didn’t kill one single enemy at a try. We were shattered. Then one of us got the great idea to run by. I grabbed my Mass Invisibility and we rushed by. Some died. I unpacked my portal and got them to where my team is. We wiped a few times between the first and second room. Then we made it through the second room full of enemies with the same strategy.Ps. If someone knows a trick how to get past those enemies without exploiting stealth and portals…feel free to tell me.
actually, you can get past them without stealth on asura walking in the right places
That’s why position is actually important in Guild Wars 2. Most of the guardian’s absorption/reflection abilities are sphere or lines. Wall of Reflection is an actual wall about 10 times the width of your character; plenty of room to protect your party. Then there’s abilities like Virtue of Courage (F3), which is not exactly a sphere of blocking but it applies a free block to every ally within range.
The main idea is that the combat and skills should keep you paying more attention to the game world than the various arbitrary numbers, bars, and meters typically associated with MMORPGs.
this, wall of reflection and virtue of courage are 2 of my favorite skills. In dungeon explorable mode I can make it so much easier using wall to stop all damage from ranged mobs while they kill themselves, and virtue of courage gives your whole party room for mistakes in positioning, as if you have bad positioning in explore mode, your dead.
for example, in caudecus manor butler route using position and skills like these make it so you dont die a lot. the whole first boss is about positioning and reflection, and the second one too.
I just finished the butler CM explorable mode… HOLY HELL… took us 4 hours, we glitched past most of the trash…. and it still took that long…
i ran this route to get my cm helm. Honestly, its the easiest route and i could do it at lvl 60 with mediocre gear, if you know what you are doing. i usually am able to run it in like an hour. But, you are supposed to skip a few groups of mobs, and you probably should use plenty of reflection to make the range mobs kill themselves
The WvW kill requirement for Monthlies should be changed to all PvP kills
in WvW

honestly, i finished the monthly requirement after only a few days. but, i do play off-hours a lot, and my server doesn’t have that long of queues
I know that it may seem like a long grind that might be a bit excessive, but it makes the skins from the dungeons feel a lot more prestigious. its not like you have to grind all the pieces you want in one weekend(nor could you). also, you dont need the skins at all to enjoy the game.
caudecus manor explorable is doable without too much difficulty if you do it right. fyi do the butler route, that one has the most reasonable difficulty
