As an avid fan of healing I would love to see this happen, however I think the game and community is too entrenched in “Anti-Trinity” to do it. What Anet can do however is make more interesting fights within the game and more interesting dungeons that require coordinated effort and possibly even punish uncoordinated high DPS. The current dungeons are truly a sad affair where no real teamwork is required…that is what has to change and suddenly you will find uses for the non-zerker builds.

I am currently leveling my Mesmer and just hit 23. I have played a guardian and an elementalist. The guardian was a bit boring to level, the elementalist was just underpowered a lot of the time. Playing a mesmer is like candy to me. The leveling is smooth and I actually feel like my character is growing. The biggest difference is that I have to be more mindful of where I am and what moves I have at my disposal. I use GS/Staff and I find it works really well. Mesmer may not be everyone’s cup of tea; however I find the leveling experience to be far superior to either of the other two classes I have played.

56 Ele, 8/10. It used to be a 9 or 10, but as I get higher levels there are more and more bugs (skill point battles not working, ele skills not working right, etc.). With a bit of patch work it could probably go back up, the foundation is there and they just need to clean up a bit.

I love playing on Tarnished Coast for this reason. I see role play like this all around. I have had many a role play event that started from simple commentary. I have been in a few of the DEs mentioned above and it was wonderful how the “zerg” quickly become a group of people really caring about Tyria. The “healers” or “rezzers” are my favorite; some really unique ways to address death or near-death.

I submitted a bug report on this a bit ago. I frequently play with a few other people and on several occasions I have arrived at a DE far before them, throwing out a bit of DPS, a lot of support, etc. At the end of the event they all get a medal and I get nothing because my DPS is too low, but my healing and support increased the DPS of others and/or kept them alive. I really hope they fixed this because I love how support works in this game, I just wish the game supported it in the Dynamic Events.

The thin red line is definitely a probably for me. If it is against white or another light color I am fine, but any browns or greens and I can barely see it. I don’t think this is color-blind specific, but the lines need to be more visible. As a red/green, blue/yellow color blind person I would LOVE to have the option to choose colors (for someone like me things like blue/purples, red/pinks/green/browns all blend together if near each other in similar shades). For example, League of Legends was nearly unplayable for me, then I noticed their color blind option and suddenly I was able to see the difference between teams, etc. To have an option like this in this game would be very appreciated.

I agree that it drops really low, but I just bought a bunch of jute from the Trading Company and I was soon into the next level of crafting and wool drops just fine.

I agree with some of your points. The casting time and survivability are by far the biggest issues with this class. Even when spec’ed as a support ele you are way too squishy. I expect a cloth to be squishier than more intense armor, but not any squishier than other cloth.

In order to improve the ele I think a few things need to change. The cooldown on switching attunements needs to be shortened a lot. Especially the 15 second cooldown from your previous attunement this makes no sense. Survivability needs to be increased significantly for support eles to really separate out the glass cannons from the support. Healer power needs to be increased along with the effect time so they heal better for longer.
