@Balasar: Ok I will answer best I can…

First some people here don’t realize what a “SILVER” Match is, unfortunately this season my alt got placed in silver, and as F2P account took me sometime to climb the ladder to gold… The reason is not only the player base, but also how the games are organized (rotation) in silver.
Silver you much like to face pistol pistol teefs, burn core guardians, full trapper DH, condi rangers, any class that does high damage is a good class, just because ppl doesn’t know how to deal with it.
1 person alone that knows how to interrupt a pistol pistol thief, or that knows how to avoid traps, might not be enough when you have your “Meta” DH protaling inside the trappers just because he wants to kill someone… Or your teef going middle and stealing a trapper… Once you lose 1 person you lose 25% of your DPS that is what silver is all about… And you prolly snowballed the game… (Cause they respaw and walk directly to middle – ALONE- to die all over again).

Other very usual form of lost is to win Middle, 2 goes far, all 4 other team respaw, they kill all your 2, kill all together middle and stand still with 2 points until game is done just snowballing… (I have seem games where even 5 from other team sit middle).
The push far strategy would be very useful in a high rank game… In silver, is pretty much giving the other team the oportunity to 5 vs 4 your team (depends on the map) and then just kill you far in 2 / 3 vs 1. Or they push far in 5 again…

Each map has a best approach to that… Just create map awareness.

Mesmers are sort of liability is this game, like playing 1 less. Wins who kills more in the middle (and snowball), and ppl really lack any sort of survival (just get into trappers, stay into fire rings, even sit into plaguelands) it’s something that even a meta build cannot prevent (meta is done to a specific rotation and gameplay)…
Therefore your build is first not suitable for the game in silver (even sword), my suggestion give up mesmer… mesmer Is a game changer when your team has sustain in the middle… in silver teams just lack that… your team will keep dying before you can finish your burst in the GS (this was my assumption). If your team dies this way, means also the enemy team dies same way… So prepare a build to do exactly what works, do damage in the middle…

>The easier way I found to get out of silver and carry my team is to really create middle sustain… being by DPS >(Core burn guards) or teefs where you can move free in the game, since my alt is a F2P I had to arrange myself with vanilla necro what was really hard I prepared a high mobility build, used carrion amulets and other stuff to increase burst damage (that’s the only thing that matters in silver)… Ppl just don’t know how to avoid damage… they evade for anything (even autoatacks)… and lack any sense of team play (there is no focus… you really cross with ppl with autotarget on… )

So build your game to play as silver gamers play the game, and if you are any good you will be able to carry most of the matches… sometimes you will cross uncarriable teams, but life goes on… just move on…

Hell I even used minions to get rid of DH traps in games before my team arrives so I can keep them alive… Just assume the worst…

Sry I had to laugh and cry a little bit after ready this tread… laugh cause we have ppl thinking Necro is any good in any 1 vs 1… I can pretty much 1 vs 1 any class, with a little bit of luck and timing I can counter and end up winning (even DH), taking advantages of mistakes, baiting; so long so forth… but Necro CANNOT 1 vs 1 ANY Class that is not an Eng… and I will use names here… I guess the best Necro in EU (maybe in GW2) is Posi… if you ask him to 1 vs 1 any class during a conquest hes prolly gonna laugh as wel, not because he can’t just because makes no sense to lose the amount of time you need to counter any class in 1 vs 1 with a necro (that is not an eng), you will prolly end you dead or losing too much time when certain there are places where you could be more useful.

you can hold a point a little while waiting someone to plus you… or get fights in the middle and take advantage of CDs… otherwise just get out of there…

Now comes the cry part:
I had to Cry when I see ppl complaining that Necro is overpower and asking for Nerfs… Let’s see… necro has no mobility, no defenses, very small access to stability (and any decent build can annul it)… it’s pretty much a punching bag that hits pretty hard… Maybe there is no easier thing in the game than kill a necro… you just decide to focus it and hes gone in less than 3 seconds… or in 1 vs 1, just be patience, cause it’s a durable punch bag and nothing more than that….

Unless a necro walks around with a babysitter… (then you kill babysitter first), avoiding the damage of necro with the actual necro mobility is really easy…

Play Necro means play smart, really smart, really knows when to engage when to disengage, where to hide and having to jumppuzzle other players… Just play smarter…

I can kill necros in 1 vs 1 with my support Ele (takes time but im not even scared), I mean Im not the best Ele, nor the best Necro, far from it… Im an average (maybe even bellow average) player… keep here struggling my plat solo qing with Necro.

I love Necro (reaper), don’t get me wrong… But least thing it needs is a nerf, actually it needs buffs, the fact you don’t know how to counter it or that ppl you are playing with don’t know how to counter is not a class issue per se…
Lower ranks Necro is overpower cause ppl just play bad, any class that hits hard is a hard counter, going up in the ranks Necro becomes more and more useless when alone… Just because ppl knows how to play…
Another point is the counters: I have problems to counter condi teefs with my power necro, however I love playing against it when Im playing condi… Doesn’t mean condi thief is overpower (a little bit broken yeah)… just means my build is not proper to counter some other builds…
Against DH, in Meta build, you will always lose my friend… actually in meta build you will prolly lose to any class, I can counter Meta Necro 1 vs 1 with any of the class I play, even my wkend classes… But you can counter DH easily using some particular builds… Same builds you will prolly find problems to counter burn guardians…

Now Meta Necro 1 vs 1 should only win against a Meta Eng, all other classes under the same class proficiency Necro will always lose…

And now in conquest: – Focus necro… end game… if pressured he cant do much, he will try to hit hard… avoiding the slowest hits in the game anyway you can; and be happy XD… (Use impairing effects – Chill, slow, Cripple – when hes in shroud if you want to see a necro suffer XD) avoid the shroud 2 for 2 reasons: Blind, and the gap closer… save your evades/CC or what ever for his shroud 5… And I’m sry, but anyone knows to avoid shroud 5, chances you get a good player are minimum…

Another point is team composition: And that’s the reason rank 55 dragons dropped Necro as main part of their team composition… Unless you are Posi/Meteor/ the other “M” that I forgot the name and other 3 names that I have to apologize to not have remembered, better keep your mind straight when playing necro bro… Even Leeto finished in gold 2 before he get a baby sitter last season… and hes particular person but a very good necro—-

My point is that this post cannot fall far from the truth.

I didn’t understand the axe tho, I will assume a mistake due to krait runes you are using… well I didnt see the video, mainly the build editor… very similar to any other in terms of traits… Main difference you are adding mobility with spectral walk and you have 3 break stuns…

One suggestion to your build is to take scavenger instead of Krait when using Carrion,
scecially if you are using axe and not scepter (cause the bleeding comes from scepter and staff 2, but staff 2 sucks in stack) also plague sending trait with 2 % critical chance will trigger once in a life time…

To ensure it will trigger more often you can use decimate defenses (when using carrion) and exposure sigil in one of the weapon set (you wont need the sigil for condi clean if you have plague acting every 20 sec -1 for the trait one for the utility. I know it’s not perfect science… but enough condi cleanse…

Other option is to use Wand amulet instead of Carrion… it will ensure plague to proc every 40 s.

When running carrion I try always to maximize instant CD, coming from the assumption that ppl will clean it (that’s why power/CD).

Since you are adding mobility with spectral walk maybe using wand and krait runes will you enough condi pressure and also help you to proc plague trait more often.

Just a suggestion…

GS5 Bug when casting with a target on

Hi I rarely post anything, so I don’t know whether this is the right place to create this post, in case not, please advise me where to go.

I play Necro mainly in PVP, and currently (this season) I have changed to GS.
I have noticed that when I cast GS5 even my target being right by my side (therefore not a matter of range). it fails to hit anything.
Only when I cancel target and shoot it in a direction it seems to work, but for me a cancel target is 1 button more, and really a pain to manage.
My friends have noticed the same.

I wanna to report this issue, if a developer can give us a hint on how it works or if is really a bug would be much more than appreciate.

I would say cou can play all of them. But as Nec you shouldnt do the 1vs1 Stuff u are there for the DMG in Teamfights.

I was playing Plat 3 last S only Soloq with Drood and Nec its possible to play Nec solo but u have to be more aware of ganking.

Were you playing power? Or Condi?

Ow… I was reading this post… I havent done placements yet… I wonder whether is not better to wait for the PoF release… Mostly PVERs will go for their mounts and I can play in piece…??? I’m not good enough for Legendary… Im gold3/plat1 player and already crossed some pretty creepy stuff last season, soloing as necro-.. I ’m wondering what is the best strategy to avoid frustration…

Hire a babysitter and go Necro… Or prepare your fifth shades of grey face if playing solo XD…

Or go Mesmer (hard to master)… Guardian (Guard is pretty easy… well straight forward class)…Or Engineer…

PPl will learn how to kill scourge pretty fast… I was dueling scourge with Weaver (Ele is my second class) during the trials, avoiding areas is not difficult, and avoiding their burst, not so complicate… (its not unblockable)so… for the whiners… GUYS WAKE UP!!

Scourge was not different than a shatter power Mesmer, Condi thiefs, condi rev or any other burst class in terms of 1 vs 1, just a matter of learning how to deal with it…

Im kind of scared of the scourge tho,

As a necro I learnt to kite so much better than other classes… and this gives me a huge advantage when playing scourge, with trail in my back to avoid being followed… uhn… Considering that are ppl way better than me doing this… Scourge will be a really OP in their hands…
This is not specific related to the build but with how we had to learn in order to manage Reaper and Core necro in the past…

Anyhow, ppl were used to jump over the necro right away (cause of low defenses) so they kept doing that during the trials, and was a sweet mistake… on the other hand duels with top players was much more difficult, easier to make damage harder to keep myself alive…

The fact we can melt several ppl at same time is kind of broken… (maybe number of targets per shade have to be reduced)

I really think Scourge is more feasible (let’s see after portal) than reaper, better duelist, easier to kite due to ToA (create distance), still a punching bag for any CC, and easy to counter by blocks, mainly I see only few classes having problems against scourge.

I dunno how the expansion will be… features and everything, but I have to congratulate the team for the speed and reliability done during this expansion… Making the announcement with 2 months prior to release was really amazing! A very nice marketing touch I have to say.

Very well done, the images and animations seems amazing I’m looking forward to sept 22. ( I will be in vacation during trials)

I hope it works well with the graph motor GW2 uses cause today most ppl already find difficulties with FPS. – Yeap big concern.

Well it seems that the developers worked hard in this expansion, so extend all my best to all involved.

I just hope we have some fun also in PVP with new specs. – secondary concern.

My main question mark remains the quality of story, I don’t wanna a brainless commander anymore, LW3 was a completely failure in terms of history content (also aligned to real world history _ I dont wanna pin point examples to avoid any kind of spoiling). I would like to see a more mature content that at least creates some trigger for us (old gamers also in age) could relate to… the problem is not the story per se, but how my character is going throughout it, his/her attitude.
LW3 there are flaws everywhere, in parts I rather stayed in PVP and ignore (postpone) the story completely, so weak and ‘wrong’ in terms of my character behavior. If my character is a commander he has to put his act together and act like one (not hard to do)… also weird if you have a charr in last episode. My point is, please balance a little bit the real human behavior with feelings and all, but don’t make my character look sooo naive… It doesn’t match the quality of the game at all, and really not match his position in this world… All maps are very well worked, love each one of them… So storywise (character behavior) seems behhh…

I have more fun discussing theories with friends than actually playing and hearing dialogues where make me punch my character in the face.

I can give you examples maybe in every part of the story but I rather not to make it a spoiler post.

My advice is to portrait my character a little more real with real questions with real concerns; it doesn’t have to skip from what he has been, but ‘ahhh’ there is something of childish and unbearable in him seems he eats whatever is coming… and real ppl are not like that at all…
I just hate the commander rather have old story commander back somehow… cause LW3 commander I give a big no! I do enjoy the game but…
