My guild needed some of the Linseed Oil from the Conservation of Resources achievement; so four of us got in a party, made sure we were all on the “Torn from the Sky” story quest, and entered together.
We took the “Fortify Defenses” route and made sure to protect the turret during the night. After the end fight the turret remained at half health, but nobody got the achievement.
We fulfilled the “You didn’t lose the turret during the night attack” requirement. Whats up?
Should cost 2 and 2, lower the amount of damask by one, add in 2 elonian leather, i think woulda been much more balanced?
Agreed. That seems much more reasonable and seems like their intent based off of the patch notes.
The following is taken directly from the October 23rd patch notes:
“To sync armor crafting with weapon crafting, and to help maintain the value of leather, masterwork, rare, and exotic inscriptions will now be crafted with patches made from leather and cloth. To account for the added leather cost, the amount of cloth required to make an insignia is reduced.”
Specifically regarding Ascended gear, the requirements for insignias went up from 3 Bolts of Damask, to 3 Damask Patches (3 Bolts of Damask and 3 Elonian Leather Squares). Meaning that it got more expensive to make the ascended gear because the 3 leather was added with no adjustment to cloth.
Is there any word on this? Is this a bug, or are the patch notes wrong and there is supposed to be no reduced cloth requirement? It seems very odd for ArenaNet to directly increase the cost to make Ascended armor.
I’m in the same boat as you. Small guild of real life friends who get together once a week and play together – trying for Gilded Hollow. We actually tried with the four of us this past saturday, but started too late/didnt have enough time to keep at it. And it seemed we didnt have enough dps.
Throughout the week we still play when we have the time. I would be very interested in trying to get something to work. We are also EST and on around the same times.
I will be playing tonight for a good chunk of time between 5:30-10:00 if you want to chat in game.

We are currently a small guild 3-8 on at a time. We don’t have a desire to get huge, but would love to have some additions to our guild. I’m thinking more around 25-50. We are open to helping new player learn, and also would love to have quite a bit more experienced players to run through dungeons/fractals and Heart Of Thorns. We have not gotten a Guild Hall yet, but are currently trying for Gilded Hollow. We only have 4 that are available to raid the Guild Hall, others either dont have HoT or are new, so anyone new to the guild is a welcome addition to the team.

Discovered that Nvidia has an option for resolution scaling called DSR (Dynamic Super Resolution) that is what I was looking for. It’s available on Geforce GTX 400, 500, 600, 700, and 900 graphics cards.
GW2 used to have an option for beautiful High-Res screenshots. Now we just have .jpg and .bmp’s that don’t have as good resolution as i would like to have of this beautiful game.
I am running max settings on my desktop. The .bmp’s are decent, it would just be nice to have something I can zoom in on and view clearer.
