Reaper hands down. It is a very well designed elite spec with some thought behind it. It drastically changes necro’s play style. Also the new skills and traits are very synergetic with the old ones. (To note: Berserker also has this synergy, but gets old quick due to lack of versatility.)
I can’t say the same about the others. It’s the one elite class that stands well above the rest.
Gotta add that druid gets fun if you want to focus on healing but this kind of gameplay isn’t necessary outside of a few niche parts of the game. That said it’s really fun healing in WvW and top level fractals.
Can we get some dev communication on this?
Such as:
Is it a low priority issue at the moment?
Is the bug too complicated and it’s gonna take some time to fix?
Any small comment at this point will be great.
You don’t even have to permanently combine servers. It’s possible to have lower number of tiers instead where 2 or 3 smaller servers can represent a single color.
I wrote this a while back, but now I hope ANET sees it:
“WvW: add back the old BL maps for a total of 7 maps. Reduce the amount of servers so that all 7 maps can have a large healthy population. Tiers will be reduced to 2 maybe 3 depending on data. Rewards will be better on larger maps or on tier with lower population densities. This is to balance out the lack of frequent action in such cases.
Possibly increase reset time to monthly, so that capping and defending will be more meaningful. New BL maps will have gliding and new anti-air seige weapons.
WvW rewards will be similar to pvp. WvW boxes will give out badges and crafting mats with some unique or rare skins sprinkled in.
Capping will reward gold but the gold will decrease on each recap of the same territory. So a player capping a keep for the first will get full gold amount, 50% the 2nd time capping the same keep, 25% 3rd time, and so on.
The new rewards should make ascended crafting much more accessible to WvWers.
Also huge reward increases for defending keeps and capturing keeps that have been defended multiple times, rewards in these cases will be XP and karma -in large amounts.
Capping keeps will now require a certain percentage of players to be in the vicinity otherwise doors will become invincible. This is to prevent capping during odd hours, it will suck for players in different time zones. This can be possibly offset by increasing rewards for capping supply camps and other minor objectives during such hours. And yes, it will remove some strategies but it will make WvW a more immersive game type.
WvW will now promote keeping territories and prevent capture instead of mindlessly zerging to flip back and forth. At the same time capturing a heavily guarded territory will yield massive rewards.
In my opinion WvW needs to remain an open sandbox game type, similar to EVE. Devs need to have very little involvement here -for maintaining balance only. The pacing and goals for WvW need to be created by players themselves.
LoL ANET hire me already."
I would love to see some large guilds claim and dominate specific areas of the maps while other guilds try to usurp their control.
I guess nobody plays rangers… They are the fastest, especially with druid and even better in combat with quick draw.
100% swiftness upkeep
Great Sword 3 is a leap
Staff 3 is a 1200 dash
with quick draw -66% recharge
Warriors are also great, with Sword and Greatsword
GS 3 and 5
S 2
faster wep swap
Thieves aren’t bad either, with SB, teleports. DD is even better with Dash.
Problem is that most people use Auto-targeting, which will force a target on you. So when you dash away from combat, you dash into an enemy instead.
I beat this with pugs 2 days ago. Make sure whoever opens instance stays alive if they die it’s all over. Also it helps to have another person alive with you for the last part when boss goes invl. because you have to break his bar. The buff takes out only 1/3 of cc bar so having two people helps a lot.
For us, I opened instance with ranger (no specialization). At glider part I was planning on getting into the bubble because ranger has 2 skills for invulnerability as well as super heals. Signet of stone and protect me, make sure to have these equipped.
But for some reason it threw me into the air from the bubble without me jumping so that all worked out. It’s possible that you need to simply walk into the air currents without jumping.
From here make sure to don’t die when shadows spawn. Kite and kill them while your team mate activates rift.
Once the boss goes invulnerable you will need to cc him with the buff, it helps to time this with another person. Also during this part if you walk away, it will allow you to change skills/ weapons so you can get more cc.
^^subtle brag thread. Ranger is OP, stop hating on them. Hope this helps.
Another tip: turn off melee assist. This allows you to walk through enemies and including boss, helps to avoid attacks and provides better mobility.
no need to get ascended recipes, you can use exotic ones to switch your ascended weapons/armor

Vipers: Power/Condi majors with Precision/Expertise minors
These stats will likely become very popular. They allow for a balanced build on both power/condi damage. Buy it before prices go sky high. I’m surprised nobody put this info up.

Enemies not dropping? Why is my bag full all the time then? Seriously the only thing they need to add are maybe 1 or 2 more merchants to Verdant Brink (and maybe the other maps, haven’t gotten to them yet).
Also so far I’ve unlocked 4 masteries, 2 gliding and 2 in Itzel lore. And it didn’t feel like a chore at all, especially since I don’t have to do it again with my other characters. Can’t say too much about the elite specs yet as I’m at ~75% with my first one now (Scrapper) but I haven’t really focused on that yet. Exploring the map is too entertaining to care for something like that.
My advice OP, lean back and enjoy. Don’t think about unlocking stuff, just go with the flow.
Were they dropping more after patches? I went to bed after the 3rd patch released. But up to that point mordrem/ dinosaurs weren’t dropping very much. I got most of my drops from hogs and moa’s.
I wanted to play the game using an elite specialization…
not play the game and then repeat it with an ES
I do have fun playing the game but not repeating the same content over and over.
Once I unlock T1 masteries getting T2 requires too much repeating because there’s not a way to get tons of XP like in pre HoT (dungeons, story, EoTM, etc.)
Also can’t map complete HoT areas without having sufficient mastery.
Like the title says this game feels like a chore now. I have a character of each profession and unlocking each elite specialization seems too daunting to even begin…
After playing I feel very frustrated because unlocking anything master to hero points has become tedious. I spent a large amount of time just to unlock T1 gliding… The cause of this is the nerf to the awarded experience. It seems like XP from story completion (HoT) is very little and repeating the story on a different character awards just a fraction of the original.
It’s a cycle. I can’t unlock specializations because I don’t have the proper masteries to get HP’s. Even on my world complete char I was only able to get ~40% of elite specialization. And completing masteries takes too long with nerfed XP in all parts of the world.
Also, I noticed the enemies in HoT tend to not drop anything most of the time. So getting gold is going to be that much harder, especially after the dungeon reward nerfs.
Nothing is going to change unless enough players demands it.
Tldr:
XP/gold nerfs suck. Unlocking HP points requires masteries which requires xp.
I don’t want to do a bunch of chores (repeat events in HoT) for 80 hours just to play the full mechanics available to one of my characters.
Unlocked scrapper but I didn’t get exclusive exotic hammer. I unlocked 200 HP worth of specialization, not one by one.
EFFF THIS MINIGAME!!!
you have to time all your belches perfectly on his healing… while dodging his belches with drinking. good lord whoever designed this, go eat some berries…
i hate this guy… its way too poorly designed even after getting nerfed. it didn’t change a single thing before and after still very horrible.
