So I just completed my first week as a trial member for HOPE, and they have exceeded expectations in every way possible. I have been met with such a high level of energy and compassion that I had previously only ever felt when I’ve gamed with my close friends.

They’re well organized, have untold amounts of patience for new and returning players alike, and make you feel right at home from day one. Gaming communities don’t get any better than this!

If you are still having problems, try adding this to your GW2 Shortcut Target:

-assetsrv 62.154.232.187:80

Here is a list of alternatives to also try:
194.25.94.170:80
174.35.71.9:80
151.249.90.199:80
93.188.135.37:80
62.154.232.194:80

You can do this by right clicking on your GW2 Shortcut and adding the above text to your Target field. For example your target should look like this:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -assetsrv 62.154.232.187:80

This fixed things immediately for me. The client updated 2-3 times in 20 seconds, and now I’m over 40% done patching.

Mac mouse issues

There’s actually another thread with others experiencing this. I haven’t had any issues (early 2011 Macbook Pro running 10.8.2, wired mouse), but my girlfriend had this happen after tonight’s client update (trial account, Retina MacBook Pro running 10.8, wireless mouse). Re-logging didn’t do anything, but fully quitting the game and restarting it fixed it for her.
