very tricky spot you got there it’s extremly frustrating to try to get there but I think I almost got it
I have to say I love that Outfit but I personally would have liked it to be an armor which would be obtained in a slightly rework of Orr.
Just make it like Silverwastes so you can get special tokens (integrated in the wallet…) for completing events in the Orr zones and then have the tokens be tradeable at the temples (like Carapace Armor) with each temple having the armor of the specific god. Not only would that repopulate Orr bur it would also give new mix & match armor sets which can be earned ingame.
And yes I know this wouldn’t get them the money they get from putting it into the Gemstore but they already released tons of new Gemstore stuff in the last month..
So all in all: I agree it shouldn’t be a Gemstore item + it should be an Armor instead of an Outfit.
Totally agree with you. We need more ice Armor!
I would love if ANet made this armor obtainable for the players but that will probably come when we get a new Icebrood/Jormag themed Dungeon or something like that.
On another note I would generally love armors that would let us look like dragonminions. We are allready kind of able to look like a Destroyer with the Hellfire Armor.
So I have got a few questions about content which was cut out of the game/never brought into the game:
- Will we ever get the old TA Path back? Arah has 5 Paths too so I don’t see the problem other than tweaking the last boss a little
- Will we get the opportunity to play “Raid on the Capricorn” again? (I understand most people hate underwater content but at least make it playable in custom games more variety is always good)
- Will we ever see the Fall of Abbadon Fractal?
What do you guys think and what else would you like to see return to the game? (SAB & LS S1 are obvious and will according to the devs return in some form)

I love this idea! In general I think there should be way more activities in the different cities (remember the Moa Race during Dragon Bash? That was fun!). And even if there is no arena built into the new version of LA which will likely come with HoT they could easily place this activity in the Black Citadel (they alreday have an arena).
I just want a little more reason to hang out in the cities except for crafting/mystic forge/bank/TP
Do you think that we will get some more choices regarding character creation in HoT?
I would really like some new horns/ears for Charr and Asura and maybe some new tattoos for the Norn.
I think it would also be great if they implemented the hairstyles/faces from the makeover kits into character creation (they could still keep their exclusive hair & eyecolors) because I feel like normal character creation lacks of variety (especially for Charr & Asura).
Do you think we will ever see new options in the character creation or will all that be exclusive for the makeovers?

I know that it is very unrealistic but i hope that we get:
- SAB World 3
- Living World Season 1 in the Story Journal
- fixed PS (Orr in the right order and with the greatest fear plotline)
- Arah Story Revamp (Not much hope here but I think if it comes it comes in the same patch as LW S1)
I think that would set the perfect stage for new players that might come with HoT because as of now there is this huge story gap between PS & LW S2 while also giving veteran players something to do.
I would however also be satisfied with SAB W1 &2 as well as the Queens Gauntlet.
So I have this idea for some hard obtainable sets of armor which I want to hear your thoughts on:
- A fourth tier of cultural armor (this time ascended)
- A second tier of armor for each order (also ascended)
- One armorset which only your profession will be able to use (ascended or maybe even legendary)
This would make a total of 33 new ascended armor sets (66 if you count the male/female differences).
So now my take on how you would acquire these sets of armor:
For this I have to say i really liked how GW:EotN handled the elite armor sets of the different factions, so this will be a similar style of obtaining them. The first thing you would have to do is get a buff from your racial leader/the leader of your order/your profession trainer. This buff would last as long this character is logged in and you could only get one of them at a time.
If the buff is active it will start an achievement progression bar which will progress through completing events/dungeons/world bosses/pvp/wvw/world bosses and so on (the balancing on how much progress each of those activities would bring would be decided by ANet). The achievement itself would have 12 tiers with following rewards:
1. recipe box
2. title (e.g. Lightbringer)
3. recipe box
4. title (e.g. Brave Lightbringer)
5. recipe box
6. title (e.g. Mighty Lightbringer)
7. recipe box
8. title (e.g. Vanquishing Lightbringer)
9. recipe box
10. title (e.g. Revered Lightbringer)
11. recipe box
12. title (e.g. Holy Lightbringer)
The recipe boxes would allow you to chose which part of the armor you’d craft first. The crafting of the armor itself would work like ascended craftig (maybe require a little bit more materials) and the armor would be account bound on acquire.
This would imho be a great way of implementing good looking new armor sets which:
- aren’t easy to obtain
- would be created with your race in mind (so no tail/horn/ear clipping for charr/asura) at least in the case of the elite cultural armor
- would represent the look of your profession
- would clearly show which order you belong to (and only be available for characters of this particular order, not like the current ones which you can transmute to chars of other orders as you please)
In the end I’d like to show you some concept art which would fit my imagination (see attachments from top to bottom would be the following order):
- Elite Warrior Armor
- Elite Guardian Armor
- Elite Revenant Armor (maybe a little more heavy looking)
- Elite Mesmer Armor
- Elite Necromancer Armor (I know we have the hood already)
- Elite Elementalist Armor (maybe with red flames or flames changing color as you switch attunements)
- Elite Thief Armor (either this or the armor of Anton from GW1)
- Elite Engineer Armor (this looks rather heavy but I really can’t imagine what special engineer armor would look like)
- Elite Ranger Armor (or maybe Medium Sylvari Elite Cultural)
- Elite Cultural (Charr Heavy)
So what do you guys think of this system?
I think they could make it so that the tengu get their racials personal story up to level 20?like the other races. They could have dragonminions attacking the dominion (either mordrem or destroyer) and you would have to fight them off an convince your racial leader to turn to the world for help. After that you would join one of the three orders where you would have two choices:
1st: a member of your order tells you about the fall of zhaitan which would trigger you playing those events beginning with the typical order quests and proceeding with the old personal story
2nd: taking on mordremoth which would trigger the new story of the expansion
The only problems I see with that would be that ANet would have to record all the old dialogues with a new voice for the tengu character (male and female) as well as creating tengu animations fitting the old conversations. And the problem that you are only around level 20 when you join the order but the new story will probably level 80 content which would mean that you would have a gap of 60 levels. Of course you could have 6 missions for the order so you could have one mission every 10 levels after joining the order which would also benefit the other races if you create a new character, so that they could also choose between going after zhaitan or mordi.
Okay so here is what I’m hoping for:
- no new level cap
- new playable race: Tengu (coming with the Dominion of Winds → 1 City + Starting Zone)
- tengu personal story up to joining an order (possibly about convincing the own people the open the gates and start joining the rest of the world to tke on mordi), after that they could give a choice of taking down mordi (heart of thorns story) or being told the story of the fall of zhaitan (old personal story after joing the order)
- new profession: some kind of heavy armored spellcaster (hopefully introduced through Rhytlock remember that picture of him in new armor wearing a blindfold)
- 5-9 new zones ( 2 in magus falls, 2-4 in maguuma wastes and 1-3 on the isles/bay of janthir)
- 3 new dungeons (imho the best themes would be 1 for some Champ of Mordremoth, 1 for the Mursaat possibly related to the bloodstone and 1 not directly tied to the story about Mordi)
- 1 raid: fight against Mordi (15-25 people)
- hard mode like gw1 (meaning you could toggle a hard mode in every zone which creates an instanced version of that zone for your group, normal mobs become elites, elites become champs, champs become legends, slaying every mob in the zone counts toward the new vanquisher title)
- new tier of cultural armor so that every race has 4 tiers (that would make 9 new sets of armor for each type)
- new PvP gamemodes like normal deathmatches
- unique borderlands in WvW (so at least 2 new maps if one stays the same as now)
- Guildhalls!
- new weapon types: scythe, landspear, 2-handed axe, crossbow, morning star, fist/claw weapons
- new emotes (like /drum, /guitar, /flute or /sitchair)
- special activities in the racial capitals (charr: player dueling in the bane, asura: polymock, humans: minas target shooting range, sylvari: plants vs zombies style tower defense in the necrolith bay, norn: some kind of arena where you battle against waves of mobs, tengu: ?)
- permanent SAB
- one new legendary for each weapon type (except greatsword for obvious reasons)
In total that would make about 9-14 new maps (plus maybe 6-7 different themed guildhalls), 1 new class & race, 3 new dungeons, 1 raid, at least 27 new sets of armor (plus maybe some new armor for the new story), new skills for each profession (because of new weapons) as well as new minigames, PvP & WvW content.
I know we probably wont get half of the stuff I mentioned and maybe I’m a little bit unrealistic in regards of the amount of the added content but one can hope
Today I had the idea that because Modremoth is attracted to magic everywhere in the world, that there could be a possibility that we get to explore the Wizards Tower in Garrenhoff.
Think of it that way: we had Mordremoth attacking different locations in the world using his vines. So what if he will be somehow attracted to Garrenhoff in the future because all of the magic thats going on there he could build a bridge similar to the vine bridges in dry top (I know these were not created by Mordi) which leads into the tower. We as players could then defend the tower and the village against the Modrem and in return get some kind of artifact which will help us against Mordi.
I don’t have much hope that ANet is going in that direction but I would love to see whats inside the Tower.
So what do you guys think? How likely is it that they include this in this Season while dealing with Mordi?
I also like how it ties in with the personal story, e. g. when talking to Belinda as a human noble. The region based achievements are great and I hope to see those for the other zones, too. As far as I remember this actually came up in one of the CDIs. I’d also love if they added more environmental effect, like darker nights. The sandstorms and the quicksand are a cool start, though.
I noticed this too as my character was a human noble. Does anyone know if the dialogue changes for other non-human-noble characters?
Yes it does! I had a little chat with Taimi about my great accomplishments and how I won the Snaff price. I also liked being recognized for being a commander of the pact and killing Zhaitan. All in all I think the story part has definitely improved a lot since last season and I’m looking forward to how it will go on in the future
