Wow, thanks for all the replies. I’ve been leveling my warrior and it gets the job done. The numbers are big and it’s easy enough to get into plus I like the support part of the build.
I’ve also just checked the viper geat and it doesn’t thow on the TP and I don’t have the option to craft Viper insignia so I guess it’s impossible to get such gear.
This said, I’m not really in a rush so I guess I’ll try both the engi and the thief. I can recall enjoying shortbow for WvW and Steal fun in PvP as far as the thief goes. I want to have the capability of being top-tier class but the fun factor is the game maker for me.
So thank you all for the leads, now it’s up to me to try them out and make my new main. Cheers!
That part was really addressed to people who’d tell me that there is no best class, it’s about which one I like. Thanks for the reply and I might just try the warrior, I’m close to 80 with one but that should be enough time to get used to the build. As for HoT, as an English teacher, I’m struggling to pay my tuition so for now it’s a no-go. A new job’s coming but we’ll see.
Sup. I’m a returning player and I’ve had some fun with my fresh mesmer last few days but I really don’t feel that playstyle. My main is a guardian and I liked it but I think I need a fresh start and I don’t want to burn out playing all the classes and settling on none. What’s a fun class that’s useful in fractals/raids but doesn’t require the expansion? I simply can’t afford it right now.
I know it’s all subjective but please don’t tell me “play what you like most” because I know there is a bias late game and I’m open for suggestions. I know I won’t like a mesmer. I wanted because it has lots of utility and gimmicky applications but I simply didn’t like the playstyle. That illusion routine is tedious, often an overkill and they die too fast. So yeah, apart from the mesmer, which class is fun FOR YOU and which you feel has most use in endgame without the expansion?
Very true. I really like guardian’s balance and I love playing one but it’s kind of sad when you’re reading patch notes, everyone gets new fun toys to play with and guardians get 10% change on meditation’s recharge… coooool.

Out of the same reason, why GW2 will have never and should have never any kind of super powerful racial skills…
Anythign thats special to only 1 playable race, can’t be balanced and creates only racial favorism that ends up in meta gameplay that requires peopel to play with specific races for certain classe to to get not kicked out of groups or in overall to find people that take you with them …
No, just no .. Anet can bring such thigns as NPCS to add in more lore ect. and make the world more full of life and believeable, but classes should stay for everyone THE SAME.
Its no great idea.. its a crap idea that is absolutely not well thought out, but just mere wishthinking for a personal “dream class” only, without thinking about what for bad things/consequences this stuff would add to the game at all.In fact, Anet would have done better by not adding to the game racial skills even at all.. but thats just my opinion. I think the game would have been alot better, if racial skills would get replaced with just normal class skills, so that all cleasses gain instead of the like 6 racial skills or how much they are for a class instead just 6 class related skills in form of 4 new utility skills, 1 new heal skill and 1 new elite skill

I like the idea but Warmonger is basically Warrior and Warrior suits the Charr equally well.
My picks:
Vizu – she disarmed Shiro Tagachi single-handedly and she could kill him but she let Viktor and Archemorus fulfill the deed.
Koss – he surely made a name for himself, seeing as people are still selling his autobiographies.
Palawa Joko – defeated Turai Ossa in a duel and Turai was one powerful guy, he ended up as a guide to the Hall of Heroes.
Goren – the Great Princes of Vabbi can afford the best and Goren was a personal bodyguard.
General Bayel – an Ascalonian who became a Kournan general and an advisor to Warmarshal herself through his own hard work and skill. Powerful fighter indeed.
These are those who deserve and seem underrated in this thread. If we assume PC is not taken into account and it’s a duel. If we’re to consider the most dangerous person in Tyria, I’d pick the Master of Whispers. You don’t know him. You don’t know his men. He knows you very well and he can make your favorite apple merchant stick a dagger in your gut if he wants.

I just can’t believe the OP. I genunely hope he’s trolling us. I mean, dude! We have reflects, many sources of aegis, heal that blocks everything for 2 secs, dodges and 2s invuln with 90s cooldown and you dare saying guardian needs more survivability? This thread is insane, I’m not even going to explain why guardian is ok as it is, maybe even OP a bit.
He sounds a lot like Vael from GWEN.
I’m sure it’s not Ellen. She seemed almost hostile towards Marjory and E told us to help her. Personally I think they’re introducing a new character (and I bet he’s a descendant to Vael).
Also, anybody noticed how Marjory was hired by Logan for a nice fat bag of coins and then the PC comes in and is like “Hey, I’ll help you even though I have no interest in doing it. It’s a letter that told me to help you and well, I help Tyria I guess.”
