Yeah, its totally obvious. I mean I’m drowning in ptPvP tournies all day long and i rarely get to find a free slot on any of the public servers. Yeah everythings fine.
Funny how every single patch was another ‘breakpoint’ for you guys. First the devblog, which didnt come out for ages, then the ’balance’patch and now this. Wondering how many people really leave the game after they didnt get what they want, because by that logic, no one should be playing right now.
I think this is time not well spent on your side. I dont get the whole reason why you did this.
Is there some kind of office party going on at Anet where youre all drunk and stuff? Looks like drunk-level of communication to me.
Not that I dislike it, but its just so unusual.
Oh please, the map is still unplayable, with sharks on it or not. Underwater combat is just NOT in a state that is remotely fun. Please, please, please, dont think that removing the sharks will make the map fun.
Then by all means regale us with a video of your professional level of play. We may learn a thing or two.
Go troll somewhere else.
I don’t agree with you about the editing- how did these people you speak of create a movie with excellent editing yet still contain a level of skill awareness within the video?
Take this gem for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coY1SrGbRWs
The COD4 version of Slovenian Show is also very, very good. The editing is so good because its decent enough to not ruin the flow of the video, while also not beinf just one fraps after the other. And another point that make good fragmovies is the audio/video snyc. Notice how its almost always perfectly synced? Thats just fun to watch.
But after thinking some more about it, maybe GW2 just isnt a game that favors fragmovies all that much – I have not seen a single good one yet, although I think with paid tournaments out there might be something good soon.
And lastly, fragmovies (at least im my opinion) have already passed their zenith, I havent seen a lot of good ones coming out lately, no matter the game. Also, in the early to mid 2000’s, there were entire communities and websites dedicated to making fragmovies and for a 500mb+ movie you had to wait a few hours before it finished downloading. It was something special. Finding gems in the vast wastelands of youtube nowadays is hard.
I’d rather see the ability for each side to ban one profession per map. (Of course only in competetive events, i.e. leagues, championships and whatnot) I think it would promote teamcomp diversity as well as tactics diversity. Plus, you can spec multiple professions into the same role (i.e. node defending guardian, engi, necro etc). That prevents teams from using teamcomps and tactics that beat the vast majority fo other tactics and thus making every match a mirrormatch in high level gaming.
\\Also, it would give the devs a good indication of what is overpowered and what is not by giving data about bans
I dont know man. The editing is nice and all (although I dont know how choirs and jumping off a cliff fit into GW2 but whatever) but man. Back in the days of CS 1.6 and Day of Defeat, if such a montage (they were called fragmovies and had A LOT better editing than this one) was recorded on public servers, the creator would have been mocked to no end for that fact. And in my opinion, rightfully so. Nowadays, those movies dont show skill because we can not be certain that your opponents are skilled. Let alone coordinated, which is a HUGE HUGE part of high level guild wars 2.
I remember having GBs over GBs of excellent fragmovies, all worth watching because they displayed skill on the highest level of competetive gaming, with voicechat laid over the video in key moments, or having splitscreen action in a 2vX situation. I dont know man, I dont get why videos like this get praised so much around here.

Yup, that cost me some nice gear I had double the other day.
This item is soulbound to another character kitten
\\oh, actually f f f u u u is kittenend. Testing: Fundamentalism
Also, they won Khylo a few times without mesmer. So thats that.
I thought you might like this. Streamer is phantaram, their ele.
While I appreciate the reduction, I realited today that theres no more relaxed cigarettebreak between games. But I can live with that
funny how in every class forum (minus ele and mesmer), a hate thread on the patch has already popped up.
The fact that you can’t 2 v 1 people is a good thing. It shows that the game is balanced.
and that right there might be the biggest BS i read on these forums for a long time. and considering these forums, thats saying something.
with the downstate of the ele changed as stated, i think anet has given a relatively clear answer on where they want to go with the downstates. which is not reducing their effectiveness but instead making 2v1 now completely unwinnable. which is bad for the game.
Sadly, the hardest class to master in this game is not the most rewarding results-wise.
if this was facebook, id press the like button
Yup. And also, this is what 90% of the users on this forum dont understand, for whatever reason. And thats why Anet HAS to react. I really really dont give a kitten about the fact that in high level tournament play, the backstab thief has no place in the meta. I get instagibbed several times a day on hotjoin pvp and that make me, a casual pleb, want to leave the game. And frankly, LoL had the perfect example with their Xin Zhao rework a few patches back. Xin Zhao was a hero that wasnt used at all in high level tournament play, but was viable in lowlevel games (which account for I’d say at least 80% of overall games.) So they didnt just straight buff the champion, because they knew that if they did that, he would become a pubstomper in regular games and thats just anti-fun. And thats just one example of how giving a kitten about lowlevel/casual gaming can save your bum not only as a developer/producer but also as a someone who wants this game to become a serious esport. (Whose arrogant and down-looking behaviour I see A LOT here)
Okay, well, looks like Im just gonna avoid this thread if your last resort is ~i cant react properly and therefore this skill is OP (oh and also, lags)~
You oversee the fact that most builds have at least one disable/knockback/stun. Save that for when you see the quickness buff on your enemy and his burst is practically nullified. Plus most of these bursty builds that center around quickness have their burstcombo using a few CDs (i.e. 100b usually uses 2-3 utilityskills) which is why these builds are really weak right after they used their burst. And by the way, the drawbacks are what makes quickness somewhat balanced, at least for someone who knows what exactly the quickness skills do.
I find stealthstoping thieves far more annoying than quickness tbh.
Yeah well, thats the wrong forum man.
Yup, you dont get goodies for farming zergfests.
Its time for you to leave gearcheck mountain and to enter skill valley.
