Are you serious? You make a minigame, that people play (mostly) only for achievement and you make in unbelievebly hard so people have to spend all their free time on this awesome mini game? And they even have to do it before next patch, because there is Bazaar of the Four Winds achievement which you can’t complete until you finish this mini game – gg.
Are you really planning on doing these things in every patch? Things that take regular players hours to achive? Thing like jummping puzzle without checkpoint or this awesome minigame?
Are you going to do something about this Adnul or is it really just about tons of luck to beat him? Did you even test it before you implanted it in to the patch?
Are you just going to make people mad or maybe could you do something enjoyable (like the sprint – which I personaly don’t like, but people like it)?
I think its his signature move design, as bluff is a key component to victories in this game. Its like taking away the ability to dribble in basketball, its just bad skill design that causes us to lose.
WvW has gotten so slow with this arrow cart buff they are far to strong. They are being used for everything even open field fights. I got on today and played for two hours while the whole time working on taking hills. Trebing and counter trebing since the amount of arrow carts prevented anything else. 2 hours later I was bored and tired of watching nothing happen the opposing server never tried to come out and fight us just hide behind the arrow carts.
If this was an attempt to split zergs it was horrible and is doing much more damage then the zergs.
I hope this is fixed soon and quickly this new slowed down game can be a game killer. Not just for me but i’m sure a lot of people.
If anything the dreaded April 30th patch of doom was a huge shot in the arm of zergs and a massive buff for servers who are already dominating. Now that glam confusion mesmers are extinct (RIP) zergs are unbreakable. But the AC buff was far, FAR more damaging to the meta-game of WvW. I’ve been playing games for over 20 years and I’ve never seen a single patch cripple a game so intensely. My server has been engaged in a 3 hour long struggle to capture Durios. Not Hills, not Garrison, Durios. The reason is that the other server stacked it to the gills with arrow carts. You can’t get NEAR the kitten. Even building catapults doesn’t work because of the range on the AC’s. Crazy. The worst part is that a downed wall used to mean victory. Not any more. We broke that wall THREE times and each time our zerg was wiped trying to enter the tower because of all the AC’s raining death down from the walls. Even porting in doesn’t work because you’re still in AC range. Then the enemy zerg lazily wanders over when they’re good and ready and clears all the trebs we built at umber. They yawn and saunter off. Rinse, repeat for 3 freaking hours. And we’re the lower-pop server. See, if Anet wanted to help low-pop severs, they failed miserably. SM does NOT EVER FLIP. One server holds it for the whole week. See, the bigger servers can grab and hold now without fear of any retaliation. If Anet doesnt fix this soon I’m not sure how long I’m gonna stay with this game. VERY frustrating.
Half your post is about how easy it is to get 100g if someone really wanted to grind for it in PvE. I know 100g would be fairly easy to get if i grinded something for 2 hours a day for 5 days. But thats not the point. Just because grinding out 100g (or receiving gold as a gift/loan) is easier than collecting 10,000 badges doesn’t mean that getting Commander with gold should be the only option.
My point is that Badges of Honor are a major currency in WvW, even more so after the March patch. Other than random mobs, anything you kill has a chance to drop badges… invaders, lords, guard, mercs, etc. You get badges from JP chests, event chests from Overgrown Grub and Arboreal Spirit, and even map completion. Its hard not to do something productive in WvW and not get a badge for doing it. And they are used to buy everything in WvW: armor, weapons, trinkets, and siege. But you currently can’t buy Commander with it. That should change.
I disagree with having to have a certain WXP rank to purchase it though. Lots of people play multiple toons in WvW like myself. My main is my Ele and i’m always at the front of the pack diving into the enemy. But i also play my mesmer who has far less time in WvW than my Ele. I use her when i want to use more tactics in taking keeps, using portal to help move golems and sneaking people in and our of places. When i’m in the mood to play tactically, i’m more inclined to want to “command” people than i would with my Ele. If the option to buy a Commander book with badges after the next major patch, I’d probably get it on my mesmer. WXP shouldn’t dictate someone’s experience at being a “good commander”. Nothing stops a noob from having a high WXP by traveling in a zerg train 100% of the time, which just happens to be the main tactic my server faces in WvW now. It’s WXP grinding at it’s best, and boring. But anyway…
Another good reason to let people buy a Commander Book with Badges is that no matter how you get the 10,000 badges (farming JP’s, hanging in zerg trains, etc), it takes ALOT of WvW hours to get it. Unlike gold which can be bought outright with real money. If someone puts in the that many hours to collect badges, they should be allowed to buy the book regardless of that toons current WvW rank. Its about the person’s ability to command, not the character’s. The person put in the time and effort and should be able to decide which of his toons he wants to command from.

We, from german speaking community got a lo of supporter of this idea, so i decided to bring this to the english forum.
Original Thread (german): https://forum-de.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Macht-die-Nacht-bitte-dunkel/page/3#post255479
It is about the night"effects". We got several feautures about the night, like weapons of asclon or even runes only working during the night. There is nothing llike a watch or something in guildwars2 and hardly anyone notices if it’s night. You can’t really say if it’s clouded or actually night already. In a few areas, if you pay attention you can see the sunset but nothing more.
So the idea is. Make a real night. a dark one. where you can actually see cities glowing at night. or where you can’t see anything in a forest unless you got some glowing armor or some kind of light (fire for example). Also the mobs should be like that.
Also there was the issue about pvp/wvw or that some got bad eyes, the computer is not thaaat strong, or what ever. Our solution to that is:
- Make an option to disable night/day visual effects
- Disable it completle in wvw and pvp
- maybe insert some special “night map” for pvp so there are new kinds of tactics available
It is all a bout atmospere. so fitting “night-sound” would be really awsome in addition. persoally i fid it weird that the events, the npc’s all just happens regardless what time it might be. so if there was a real night, mabye there would be more kinds of quests and events (for example: we need to finish XY before sunset, ZZ are really active at nigh")
We all love the landscape and over all art of gw2. all the details that were made with so much passion. so this is a thing we really miss.
I hope sooner or later sme anet member could give us a statement too ;)

Your spell FX are frankly over the top, Arenanet. I’d like to play the game without running the risk of epileptic seizures everytime there’s a big battle in WvWvW…and I can’t even see the opponents in that glorious (with all due sarcasm) display of bright lights that put even Tokyo’s shopping district to shame.
And I need sunglasses to play GW2 during those times.
Please think of the children. The bunnies. And humanity when you finally come around and place the power/ability to reduce the absurdity that is spell FX in Guild Wars into the hands of the PLAYERS. Not you. Not the devs.
Otherwise someday you’ll get hit with a lawsuit for possibly causing epileptic seizures or retina burnout. You know how ridiculous the U.S. court system can get with awards those days, gentlemen.
Love, with much sarcasm.
The dragons are already being reworked.
A NET. Well done on a lovely game. One thing that I would really love to see as a guild leader is how active my members are and when last they have been online. Please incorporate that. Keep up the good work… Moss Mannikin Leader of Ons kom vat jou kak (Sars)
Guild leaders really very much need to be able to see how long certain players/accounts have been offline. For instance a “last login” date. This should be a high priority for an upcoming patch. Seriously.
My wish list, from small tweaks to larger overhauls:
- Last online/last repped/rep%
- Confirmation for kicking/demoting etc (seriously, who decided that putting “kick” right next to “whisper”, with no confirmation dialogue, was a good idea?)
- Show people’s home server, not just where they currently are guesting to.
- Join date.
- A way to edit guild announcements. ATM it is a total PITA to change just a small thing.
- A static portion of the announcement (for stuff like forum address, vent login details etc.)
- Showing the guild announcement automatically in chat on log-in (if repping of course), just as in GW1.
- Being able to set automatic demote/promotes (like, having an "inactive " rank for people who have not been online for 1 month or whatever).
- Being able to make a “will” as in who should be made guild leader in case of emergency (ban, prolonged illness, death, quitting the game, stepping down) and set a time frame for when leadership should be inheritedif not actively stepping down .
- Guild Squad Leader. Like a commander, just with a different map symbol only viewable to guild members. (I would actually also like a way to denote someone a party leader, especially in WvW it would be handy to know which blue dot to follow lol).
- Ask when creating a new character if they want to represent a guild (I cannot count the number of people who didn’t know that new characters are not repping by defaut, they just thought the guild turned really really quiet..)
Guild Wars 1 had a great system in Guild Management that shows Last time logged in and join date. I would like to see the feature back in GW2!
Pointless and useless? It would be one of the most useful things in the game if it were added. Having a ‘Last logged on’ and a ‘Last represented’ feature for guilds would be nice, but ‘Last logged on’ is by far the more necessary.
It just sucks that the mods keep dumping my threads about this in the ‘Graveyard’ section where most good threads go to die. They really should give the ‘Suggestions’ forum it’s own subforum, one for ‘Stupid ideas’ where all of the threads about mounts etc. would go, and leave the normal forum for good ideas.
Hello,
the information about players displayed in Guild Roster at time moment is inadequate for an effective guild management.
There are 400+ people in larger guilds, many of them inactive or never representing, but you can’t keep an eye on every single person. You need a tool.
Please, add actually useful information to Guild Roster, for example:
- Total Influence earned for Guild
- Time since the last time a person was online and representing
- Total time online and representing
Thank you
