Guild Wars 2

I lasted a month in GW1 and I bought all the expansions.
I lasted 2 months in GW2 before getting the same old same old feeling.
The odd thing is I am now trying swtor which is even more same old same old but it has been fun so far (2 weeks in).

I think I have become the “play new shiny and then throw away” type which I didn’t used to be (lotro 3 years and counting, WoW 2 years).

So, the game is not what I hoped for but maybe it is more me than the game in this case.

Okay so there was no big one time type reward for being a participant or anything? I read at Halloween you got a hat (maybe it was at the end of the event?).

I was able to join in and see the opening cinematic. I killed a couple of baddies (or at least I think I did….) and then I handed in something to an NPC. My contribution stayed at 1 as I had to leave for work at this point.

What else has happened since that point? (I wont be home for a few hours but I’m curious)

Next time plan world events when the servers are at their lowest population. Better to make 300 people happy than 4,000 people mad.

Or, fix the server load handle issues.

Thank god the dungeons don’t count. I wasn’t sure about that. I am at 86% and missing a few regions but I haven’t hit a dungeon yet so I wasn’t sure heh.

I’m a casual player. Maybe 10hrs a week. I had no intention of going for a legendary. I was happy enough with getting all crafting to 400 (as long as a legendary isnt needed to finish crafts) and world map 100%.

I honestly don’t like them becoming easier to get because a Legendary should be a legendary accomplishment (i am counting time spent in game since it appears to be more grind and rng than anything, and not the bots or exploiters). BUT that said if they are easier to make, I will also be happy to make one for myself =)

To be honest it never occured to me that I have already every carrot/celery recipe but it makes total sense in heinsight!

Not really sure why I kept looking for it in discovery when I already had the recipe either blush

You’re missing the point. I cant choose to put carrots in the discovery tab. Or celery. But i can see I have 90 of each. I did buy the recipe by the way but I cant even drag carrots or celery into the discovery section because they dont appear in the left hand side grid. If i look at all my collectibe items i have 90 of each though.

So I went out and bought 100 stalks of celery and I have been collecting Carrots as I go.

I started crafting recipes I found online that I had not discovered yet when I noticed my carrots and celery stalks were no longer visible in the crafting panel (I was going to make rabbit food). I had about 8 squares empty so there was room to display more items.

When I looked up old recipes it shows I still have 60 carrots and 94 celery stalk so I’m not sure why they are not appearing in the discovery panel (god knows what other ingredients are not showing).

I am not sure how to look at the grid of all collectibles I have, but I should not have to do that when I’m crafting anyways.

I apologize if this is already listed, I just checked the first 4 pages and a quick search.

Let me preface this with I think the Halloween event was great.

I am the type that does like to try finishing all achievements. It also bothers me when I can’t finish event achievements (unless the same are available year after year to continue).

I found that I did not have enought time to finish all the achievements this year. While it may be because I am busier more this year than most I still found they had poured quite a bit of stuff for us to do which was fantastic!

My OCD hates Anet, but the fun gamer in me Loved this event =)

I usually salvage the blues and greens since for me selling it at the moment it is a matter of copper. I wondered though would a blue or green automatically give you more Jute or a better chance of jute or is it just the salvaging packs that determine more jute per salvage? Or would the blues/greens give higher tear crafting mats?

I just salvage and never took note of how much I got per time

Are you salvaging equipment? That turns a lot of stuff into Jute scraps.

from everything I have read, no. At the end you can buy legendaries/exotic cheaper than you could crafting them with the mats (which you could have also sold).

Im only at 100 in my crafting, so this is just based off the threads here and there that I read.

Is it possible the bots are somehow reporting legitmate players. How the tides have turned…….

I haven’t run a dungeon yet. How do you get L80 gear on any dungeon? The Loot is scaled to your level in all of them? Like AC (level 30 or 40 from what I recall) can still drop 80 gear if your real level is 80?

hm, even though I don’t pay I still feel like I have to log in and play. Those darm daily achievements heh (also, I want to get the montly and see what the chest awards!)

That begs the question why are they relaxing their anti-exploit system…how many legit players were being affected? Maybe the botters have been complaining lol

I’ve read plenty of complaints about the bots. I’m not savvy enough to know exactly what they are doing though. Do they just sit and kill the same mob over and over? Do they run events? Do they loot everything?

The reason I ask is I read all these complaints about bots destroying the economy and whatnot and then the patch notes say:

“•We’ve relaxed our anti-exploiting system for loot and events.”

Am I missing or misunderstanding something?

I am looking for an active guild. I focus on PVE but once I hit cap will spend a lot of time in PVP. I also enjoy crafting even though it’s useless at the moment I am sure they will fix it one day :P

I work shifts so I do have different play times but mostly 6pm-11pm EST and weekends.

Currently level 34.

I am in a nice guild now but it is always only 1 person and me on at a time.

That was great. First time seeing a boss but seeing the big rock finish him off was hilarious.

I made 4 8-slot bags. I wish I read the forums earlier. Also, items that are equippable can be salvaged? I read blues and whites….so even if it doesn’t say salvagable you can salvage armor/weapons?

Are the rollbacks done by them to fix issues or is it a bug? I had it happen to me last night.

Hi all,

I logged in this morning (9/22/2012) and a skill point area, all my traits I learned the day before and some skill points were rolled back. Not sure if this is a known issue or something I did (logging out a certian way doesn’t save properly?).

I was in the Caledorn Forest.
Sylvain, lvl17, Necromancer.
Some of the stuff lost (some trait points and the skill point area) were gained while partied with a player from another server. they were lvl17 Human Guardian.
Play time was roughly 9pm-12am EST
