Can’t we all just enjoy the game for what it is? I think in the end, people need to remember the following:

Sometimes your server rolls, sometimes it gets stomped.
Sometimes you are 2v1’d, because its logical to do so.
Yes people have used zoom hacks – who exactly I won’t pretend to know., nor accuse.
Nobody really cares about your GvG success – GvG’s tend to say more about coordination than skill – and lets be real people – GW2 is not exactly at the top of ‘e-sports’ list (GW2 is the Arena Football league of sports).
Having fun > pride.

This is part of why I fell out of love for RISE (change of priorities among other reasons) – I still love the members though – Kream/Akio I know you are here a lot – <3 you guys… and ‘hate’ you guys

Basically, quit fighting every time your PPT drops below 150 and just enjoy GW2 for what it is

My BOLD prediction of the week!

BG and SoR have an epic back and forth battle trying to one up eachother. Trash is talked on the forums. And TC somehow wins because of all this nonsense.

Lastly, BG and SoR will each claim to not care about PPT while going on 0 hours sleep after 3 days.

Regardless of why things ended up the way they did this week – I hope next week is more competitive.

I think everyone kind of knows which guilds on the 3 top servers really do look for a fight, but I don’t think it’s necessary to trash talk the others. Maybe I’m just one of the few that finds competitive banter to be an enjoyable aspect of the game and just leave it at that.

Keep it up and you’ll be the people everyone on that server looks up to.

Appreciate it bud. I know at least we enjoy battling it out with you guys, as well as some other good guilds. Sometimes we win (yay!), and sometimes we lose (hacks! jk). All in all – good times are had.

I think everyone kind of knows which guilds on the 3 top servers really do look for a fight, but I don’t think it’s necessary to trash talk the others. Maybe I’m just one of the few that finds competitive banter to be an enjoyable aspect of the game and just leave it at that.

I’m not gonna declare BG as having the best server community, but I do feel like it’s a fairly tight-knit group considering the many different personalities/ego/whatever that are involved.

Even when RISE isn’t commanding, I have a blast following the likes of KnT, OnS, MERC, and so on. <3 all of you.

And I do enjoy the large fights with JQ/SoR and even DB this time around.

Unfortunately, 99% of what you read in this thread will be losing side claiming they don’t care about winning (though they love to brag when they are!) and the winning side try to act as if they aren’t even trying either.

Plus neither side will admit using arrow carts. And you will see arrow carts.

In the end, just wanted to say welcome, good fights, and you guys are much improved from the last time you faced us (and JQ that time). Best of luck!

I’ll preface this with a simple statement, I can only speak for myself.

To everyone asking where SoR NA is (like it isn’t apparent), we aren’t in WvW. Lag and disconnects have made it pointless to even try. I, and a number of others I’ve spoken with about it, are sitting it out in hopes that the issue clears up. We play for fun, and it isn’t fun when half of our skills don’t activate in combat and moving around just leads to being disconnected from the server.

But sure, maybe we really just want to recruit more guilds… that makes much more sense.

I can say that this is not just happening to SoR. RISE has had numerous d/c’s on a nightly basis. I will say SoRBL seems to be the worst though.

I didn’t realize ANet’s 2 week patch plan was actually the Mesmer biweekly nerf plan.

Making a skill triggering on being hit (not as block) was a design flaw to begin with. Mesmers live by not getting hit.

Everyone, I did not post this just to get thrown back in my face, tiers do NOT have to do with population, Sactum of Rall was once in tier 2 – 3, and by points, they got into tier 1.

right. you got more points when the WvW population of SOR outnumbered the WvW population of your enemies.

There is not skill in winning WvW. Only coverage.

NO, it is pure skill, pure comunity , pure coordination for SOR to win.

For Blackgate its different. Numbers, community, coordination do not matter here.

For Blackgate, it starts with our morning routine. We start by putting some awesome-sauce on our toast before we make 20 laps around LA with our lolerskates screaming, “WE’RE #1”

Our afternoon meal is a high protein diet. Every noon meal, we kill an afker in LA and roast him over a spittle. Then we take communal man poos into the mystic forge. So maybe community is important here on BG.

In the evening (I can only speak for NA primetime here), we gather the guilds together for an awesome RP session. We work ourselves up into a Tarnished Coast style role-playing nerd frenzy. Battles from Braveheart, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Patriot, The Alamo and Street Fighter are played while a great motivator screams about things precious to the NA players in BG: “MURICA” “FREEDOM” “BALD EAGLES”.

We then go WvW.

So community is important here.

I’m just glad you didn’t share the thing we do at the thing. We’d never win a match again if people found that out.

I actually felt this week was the most balanced in terms of feeling like a true 1v1v1. There were some days where I felt SoR/JQ were tag teaming us (I think Saturday was the one that felt brutal), and other days where it felt like we were tag teaming someone else.

Reality is, all 3 are opportunistic. If JQ is hitting SoR’s Hills, then yeah, it only makes sense to hit SoR’s bay at the same time (this is just a rough example). There will be good days and bad days, especially when all 3 sides are in the mix.

I only wish the close score dragged out into Friday, but I think last night when BG’s NA still held a high PPT through primetime that the writing was on the wall for this week.

But then again, with ANet’s new incredible, unpredictable matchmaking system, surely we won’t face eachother again!

MERC is a guild with over 300 active members from all over the world, a large section of the members are from America, Australia/New Zealand, Asia and some are from Europe. It has over 10 active WvW commanders that tag up on a weekly basis.

Its members are committed WvW’ers and will fight as hard as they can for the server.

But seriously, just play the thing out. Last week DB got matched up with JQ and BG, both of which have superior coverage. On top of that, JQ did nothing but go for DB’s throat the first weekend. Life sucks sometimes, you just have to keep playing and roll with the punches.

As a BG player that was there for the initial ‘welcoming’ party to DB – this kind of attitude is exactly why we all saw (and felt) DB take the opportunity to grow/improve that week. That first Friday night DB looked lost as hell, and by the end of the week, they were actually putting up a decent fight.

Hats off to DB.

I’m on Blackgate, and I too just wanted to commend Dragonbrand. It did seem that first night you guys were not ready for what Tier 1 really was. But even on the same reset night, I at least saw signs of improvement.

Keep it up and you’ll work your way up the ranks and maybe give us a more stiff competition next time

Will we get double teamed? Yes. Preplanned? No, opportunistic. Will it be fair? Yes. We are the weakest server in the match up which means easy points for them. Now lets not QQ and get out there and enjoy the opportunity for some really tough fights against some great guilds.

Take advantage of the fact that you are actually facing people/guilds that have strats/tactics, and learn from it. It did seem we (BG) and JQ were double teaming you guys last night, but honestly, it was because we were using the most basic of tactics and wiping DB peeps. I don’t think I was even downed the first 4 hours of the reset.

Learn from the experience, and even if you can’t mount a comeback this week, apply it to the next match.

Don’t really care what happens, Wagonbrand or kitten Coast, either way. Both can field comparable numbers to BG/JQ/SoR. TC and SoR have something in common, server wide blobs per map. Makes WvW look bad when that kind of approach to it is not only necessary but required.

Perhaps they are forming a blob in response to the borderland crashing blobs that BT and RISE have been running lately. SOR NA usually has several groups going on a single map during NA prime and only form up to counter a blob….

Wait what. SoR only forms up to counter a blob? Isn’t SoR’s reputation primarily that you usually have absurdly large zergs? Maybe I play at weird times or something.
