I have no idea what class you are but try this. Stand ON the elemental. Attack him for as long as you can because from the times I’ve done it, the spawned adds don’t go inside his hit box. The moment you see yourself take damage, roll out, and keep your out for AoE circles. When you’re not inside his hit box, res nearby fallen allies when possible and dps down adds and it’s a fairly easy fight.

Did it as a guardian at level 15 the first time and didn’t ever die..

I think this fight is fine as it is. It’s just placed in the wrong zone. It should be placed in a somewhat higher level area seeing as many people aren’t coming from another MMO or if they have, didn’t ever raid. I believe the starting zone is too early to place a fight that really requires spatial awareness, dodge rolling and switching between adds/boss for brand new players and such.

I ran AC last night for the first time. We downed it in about an hour-ish, and it was pug too! I really feel like there isn’t a “best” spec to use in GW2 dungeons. I also kept a 1h sword in my bag for the Lover’s fight. I feel like everyone really should learn to use all the different weapon types and styles that guardians have to offer.
I mainly just wrecked mobs throwing in support where needed and applying boons. Sometimes i switched to scepter and pull for the group, etc.
