So, Im wondering if the intention is to have Free tourneys resemble Random Arenas in GW1 and Paid to resemble Team Arenas. I think that would be a great idea, or at least have some place were ONLY randoms are allowed. There are many of us that can’t pvp with a team that much and would love to be able to get into randoms that are 5v5 instead of 8v8.

In 8v8 there is not a lot of room for strategy, you basically have to follow the zerg and to have success. If you try to do something else you will most likely end with a loss.

There are more than a couple of viable builds. Its also useful when you want to change them on the fly, for example your guild needs you to bring a bunker guard ect…

It doesn’t seem like the regular spvp matches have any sort of matchmaking system, or even tourneys for that matter. Is there any plan to add this in the future? I’m sure you guys at Anet understand that something like that is pretty important to the balance and health of pvp since its already in WvW. If it is already there just ignore this message, but it doesn’t seem that its there so maybe a bit of an explanation into how it works would be welcomed

Is there any plan to include more stat tracking for spvp? Right now the its pretty basic and all revolves around titles but I was hoping for more stats. I definitely don’t believe this to be very high priority but it would be nice! and maybe a web interface to them as well

Didn’t find this anywere on the forums. Is there a plan to add build templates similar to what was in GW1?

My main is also a level 40 ele. Not sure what to say, I have a blast with him and usually the staff is my bread and butter. It takes a lot of movement to solo with an ele but I can do 1v3s and 1v4s with a lot of movement and element switching. I LOVE the greatsword elite. I suggest you mix up your weapons and try different utilities mix it up, its always nice to find new combos.

Always prioritized destroying their treb. Use yours but don’t over do it with fixing it. My teams many times focus too much on fixing our treb and forget about capping. But ALWAYS keep an eye on theirs. As far as the middle point, like some have mentioned AOE damage and support usually wins middle.

Well considering the mesmer has our 2 and 3 skill combines into with the added benefit of a clone, i’d say yes, thief down state went from OP to complete crap. Still not as bad as ele’s tho.

You have to look at the overall picture though. A mesmer or a thief can’t 1v1 an ele in the downed state. Sure, that isn’t super handy. But in a big fight an Ele can actually help out with its damage from the downed state and if it gets to use its mist form it can get back up pretty quickly, I think the numbers might be tweaked a bit but its pretty good IMO.

I believe its ok. Its the class that can keep a foe from completely killing you the longest, which could come in very handy in various situations. It balances out well because they have a lot less damage in the downed state, unlike for example an Ele which has a lot more damage but can’t escape the initial stomp.

Agreed! This is definitely something that would come in handy as an option to enable/disable.
