Magnetic aura and aftershock are your best bets, if you’re staff try using fire 4 to engage on them to trigger traps, also your overload fire is a pretty low cd stability, you should be fine with it. If you’re focus, obviously swirling winds and earth 4 and 5 should carry you through the fight, along with burning speed.
I’m having that too. The new 361.43 driver doesn’t seem to help.

Make a fighting area at the lobby.

This one has been out for a while now, but the animation of the Rangers’ Signet of Stone is bugged and the Signet of Renewal appears overhead instead. I’d love to see that fixed.
As the title says, I’m having ping spikes fairly often at the moment. My average ping is 50 but it randomly shoots to 400 every so often. I’m just wondering if it’s comming from my internet or if the servers are messy?
If only the theory that 5 premades never fought 5 pugs was true.. But not even.
In addition to the aiming issues, ANET has chosen to nerf clone production, making [Deceptive Evasion] a GM trait.
That’s not how it will work, in the future trait system you’ll have to chose between 3 traitlines and you’ll have access to the whole tree as if you had 18 trait points, so that’s hardly a nerf.
This being said it’s true that clones are a tad too squishy, too often i’ve seen my clones die at the very second they spawn because of too much AOE, or a random attack hitting it. A (very short) distortion on creation would be more than welcome.
I would have to agree with Hunter right now, I have soloqueued for about 8 hours today and I’ve yet to face a 5-pug team. It’s getting pretty irritating to be honnest. I’d like to soloq, there’s a reason why nearly noone went solo in teamq in the old system, being the 5th random of a 4-man team SUCKS. Especially if they’re used to playing together or have voip, you feel left out of the game. Even when you win it’s simply not fun.
PS: I don’t want be paired with a 4-man group with voip Vs a full-pug team. Dominating a game 500-100 vs pugs isn’t fun.

Agreed, I don’t see what the problem was with the previous queue system, obviously confirming the queue was a good idea but why can’t we pve/wvw/hotjoin during these times? I also wish people clicked the “ready up” button from time to time, I’m not very fond of having to wait 2 more minutes after having a 5+ minute queue.

Over the past 2 days I’ve noticed a considerable FPS drop (about 50) while I haven’t changed anything on my computer. I’ve checked for maleware, followed the recommended manipulations found on the forums, my CPU seems to be running fine and cold, I tried downgrading my gpu driver but nothing seems to work.
My specs are the following:
CPU: i7 4790K @ 4.00 GHz
GPU: JetStream Palit GTX 970
RAM: 16GB DDR3 @ 1600MHz
MoBo: MSI Z97 Gaming
If anyone has an idea on what could be causing this I’d love to have any feedback.
I have a 1 second freeze every time I open the score pannel in sPvP. It’s nothing game-breaking but it’s pretty annoying. I tried reinstalling the client but the bug is still there.
It’s because of the daily engineer achievement.

My post called “please nerf turrets” has just been deleted. I think it speaks for itslef. I seriously don’t get why ANet doesn’t react, everybody has been complaining about turret engies for months and nothing is happening besides the engineers breeding. They seriously ruin my fun, it’s stupid how an AI build is impossible to beat in a 1v1.
Decap engies hold a special place in my list of people to murder too.

Hey everyone,
I’ve logged in today after a week or so and I noticed that my legendaries have… issues.
What I mean is Bolt has no more lightnings on the blade and Incinerator has no blade at all!
Twilight and Sunrise don’t seem affected tho. Any idea of what causes that?
Edit: now that I think about it this post should probably have been posted in the “bugs” section but I’m thinking it’s most likely a GPU driver issue or something…

I’m using that cpu with a GTX 970 and I haven’t noticed anything below 100 fps as of now =) I’m using a z97 too by the way…
because the community wanted a new game mode badly.
Why don’t they add a new game mode already instead of throwing random death matches in the middle of a conquest game?
I make new charracters for pvp all the time, your level doesn’t mean anything in pvp…
Check some of the best pvp’ers on twitch and such, some of them aren’t even 80 on their mains…

I play as a s/d thief and I’m not quite a beginner anymore (not a pvp hero neither but still). My point is, if I want to engage a longbow ranger, even if i have steal, infiltrator’s strike and infiltrator’s signet as gap breakers, he will still have time to unload his whole rapid fire on me before I even get to him.
-Dodge it! -1 rapid fire is 2 dodges to dodge. After which he still has 1)Point blank shot 2)barrage 3) 2 pet CC’s 4) Etangle (That’s only if he camps longbow)So no matter how many evades I have, he has more lame skills to unload on me. Someone said he had to sacrifice all his utilities to burst properly? I did some testing, 1 rapid fire with no buffs can hit up to 10k, and that’s not counting pet hits/air+fire sigil procs. Having burst is fine. Having ranged is fine. But having a 1500 range burst with 8 seconds cd is just ridiculous.
Saying that they have no survivability would be a lie as well: 2 invulns, gs block + kb, stun/daze… That’s more than most burst classes, and that’s not counting they can just stay at ranged and kill you safely while they’re out of reach for your own attacks.
I’ve done some testing on several classes, and there’s no way I can find a counter to them. In 90% of the cases they’ll just burst you before you even are able to attack them, and the 10% left is when you don’t have any dodges left because you double dodged thier rapid fire.
In a team fight it’s even worse: they just arrive randomly, burst anyone in 2 seconds and before you notice they’re there you’re dead already.
What I wanted to point out with this thread is that rapi fire is stupidly op, the range is too high, the damage is too high and the cd is too low.
You must be a complete n oob. I know that might hurt, but it is the only explanation I can think of for your opinion.
Longbow burst ranger is definitely not the most powerful class/build in the game, and not even the strongest ranger build. Once you get better at s/d thief you should be able to beat a lot of any type of ranger 1vs1, although there will likely always be someone better than you.
I never said I was unable to kill them or that they had the most op build in the game, what I said is the damage output they can have by just pressing 2 from the other side of the map is highly unbalanced. I really should have expected rangers to defend their pew pew when making this post, I guess I’ll just give up.
If you nerf rapid fire then you also need to nerf frost bow and mesmer gs AA at the same time for the same reason.

Mesmer greatsword AA has like the lowest AA in game -.-
yet it hits almost as hard as Long Range Shot due to its design, but i am no mesmer player, so i guess even the GS damage is an illusion.
It hits like 500 after a 1s+ channel, it’s really not the auto attack that hits hard

As for frost bow, it’s definitely op but it sacrifices an utility skill, deep freeze has a huge cooldown and is very telegraphed and takes only 1 dodge to negate it. So I’m fine with frost bow.

I did a few soloq’s as a ranger just to make sure I didn’t write nonsense, and ended up winning several 2v1’s, including against 2 hambows, and I had no experience in ranger pvp whatsoever. To me that is the ultimate proof that rangers are stupidly easy to play and have way too much damage for the ammount of effort you have to give.
Androlan – if you die when you melee you’re doing something wrong because GS is just ridiculously op in terms of defense… You can tank anything with GS and 1 trait point in nature magic..
I 2v1’d people on skullcrack warrior…

Yeah if you never played warrior before and you are able to 2v1 with skullcrack then it probably needs a rework of some sort… 4s stun IS op tho, but at least it requires skill to play, not like lb ranger…

At best, it’s irritating to fight power-based rangers right now. At worse, it’s really rage-worthy.
Since the patch, PvP has been crawling with press-2-2-win yolo rangers, and face it, there’s not much you can do about those.
What’s the point of giving a 1500-range one shot? Yes you can dodge, evade, use an invuln, reflects, whatever you want, but in the end, with auto attacks hitting 2.5k, 3 cc’s, etangle, barrage and whatnot, all you can really do is disengage.
So I’m guessing the “ranger” topic has been pretty active this week, hence my question, WHEN will the nerf occur?
It’s not really a bug but I couldn’t find a better place to post this;
Since a couple of weeks I’ve been getting serious FPS crashes. In open world they aren’t too bad but when I enter Arah it gets worse, my FPS crashes from 60 to ~5-10ish roughly 5 seconds every 30 seconds. It makes my favourite dungeon quite a bit harder…
I have tried changing servers (RIP 120g), cleaning my computer, re installing the game, with another internet connection, and nothing seems to be working. Are the servers tired or something?
I’d really love to have an answer…
