Movement Speed Buff for DH

On a similar-minded note, I would like to buff thief and eles base health and armor to be similar to warriors, with the stats tied to some trait, of course, so it would be perfectly reasonable.

Impossible? Of course not, a significant difference and skill can make up for not choosing necro in the character creation screen.
But to the point, strategies to fight necro have indeed changed. As I stated above, resistance has no value anymore due to now overwhelming amounts of corrupts, and tempest can no longer defend your team let alone themselves due to but their own nerfs and reapers buffs.
If anything, the game seems to be balanced around reapers being powerful, them having a plethora of boon corrupts and strips compared to other classes while the others cant have a boon without it being a liability. Condi reapers were already strong with the 800 damage per tick deathly chill, this patch pushed them over the top.

Hey, if you think that necro didn’t get a ton more access to boon corrupt with the change to corrupt boon alone, that’s not my problem.
@DaShi
Sorry, I didn’t mean “difficult” to defeat; I meant that it’s almost immposible. I want there to be a slight chance to be able to get a victory against a necro 1 on 1, which isn’t possible on guard/ele in reapers current state.

The patch changed them in the sense that its difficult to defeat them with classes that relies on boons, such as ele/rev/maybe guard because of the large amount of boon corrupt they now have. Resistance now has no counterplay value at all anymore. Also, seeing the way that the meta is going, you cant rely on teammates to cure condis for you since tempest is all but taboo in pvp due to reapers themselves, so youll need to bring high cleanse on yourself. For this patch, id say if you want to beat a reaper you should probably going reaper yourself.

Alot of times when a ranger dies on the enemy team, their pet will flicker in and out where they died for a second a short while later(when they re spawn?).

Has anyone else noticed this? I havent seen any topics about this on the forums, and its really getting annoying how its activating all my traps that I put down.

Bring or use a “glass” power revenent. 3-4k per quickened auto attack easily deals with eles that dont bring stone skin with them. add shiros heal to the mix and, youll be dong 5k per aa. if they try to escape with lightning flash, just phase traversal for a 1200 range attack. You really cant not catch them because its on kitten cd. Just keep autoing and you’ll be golden.
Its quite easy too, to be frank.

Diamond skin is fine, there needs to be someone to keep condition reapers in check. Just tested it recently, and chilblains by itself does 6k on a condi build while the opponent has rune of melandru, if the condi arent cleansed.

As far as I see it, diamond skin is only an issue in low mmr where condition reapers try to kill anti condition bunkers by themselves, or teams cant press ctrl+j to focus on a target. Ele can heal alot, but cc is very effective at shutting them down, as most arent running any kind of stability, few on demand stunbreaks, and only a single invulnerability.

It really cant be said enough:
Diamond skin is a grandmaster trait that does absolutely nothing unless the lowest health profession is above 90% hp

Critique my build idea: The Boonani Tempest

in Elementalist

LastLetter.7938

Well, if this for pve dungeons and raids, you will likely have heralds/phalanx str. warriors taking care of all the might and fury needed- itll already be maxed out at 25. For the weapon, max damage is pretty much camping fire in staff, and using lavafonts and meteors. Due to raids being all about damage, id take burning precision, serrated stones, and tempestuous aria over their counterparts for max dps. I cant really see this working in pvp, but can have interesting applications in wvw.

I like the idea, but other classes can fill this role better while losing less.

1. Maybe the only suggestion I agree with on this post, skills should function as intended.
2. Its already a pretty powerful ability, giving evade, chill and high damage all while being able to be used a long range; plus revenents inherit weakness is that they are vulnerable to condis, and its whole design was with this in mind.
3. Not necessary at all, no reason to have this.
4. Why complain about the cast time when you made your own solution in the same sentence? Impossible odds makes it fast enough already, making it even faster would be overkill.
5. 600 range? you seem to be forgetting that the weapon you are using is a sword. As for it hitting stealth targets just because rapid fire can? By that logic, rapid fire should be an evade that stacks might for every hit just because UA can do the same thing.
6. Sword 2 isnt actually weak, I would say, its just that the swords other abilities overshadow it because of how strong they are. With just this 1 skill, you already have a pretty high chill uptime, which is arguable one of the most powerful condis in the game.
7. Maybe cleanse 1 condi per target at most, this skill sees almost no use.
8. the buffs that you are suggesting to this skill are ridiculous, to be frank. 4 seconds of block, while healing curing 4 condis while being able to move? Funny how you compared it to all the other block skills just emphasize how overpowered your changed block skill would be compared to them. Also, all blocks are omnidirectional, with shield of courage as an exeption.
9. Its obvious why its this way, protection is a very strong boon.
10. Once again, another case of “because some other class has this I should have it too!” whats next, do you want perma stealth for revenents because thieves have it? The skill is powerful and perfectly useable as it is.
11. Not needed, its already a strong skill.
12. contrary to popular belief, 20 vuln is pretty strong if you can capitalize on it. the might stacking is fine as it is, it goes to your whole team after all, whats there to complain about? Also, I loled when you mentioned the 15sec cd as if it was a downside.
13. So, its a stunbreak, cures movement conditions, gives endurance, and now you want to be able to use it 5 times in a row? I dont know what to say.
14. Some classes dont even have unblockable attacks that deal damage(or they do like 100 damage) and you think that 2 attacks is not enough? 2 is plenty, 5 is overkill when its on a teleport thats the equivilent of thieves class mechanic.
15. Revents are weak to condis. Revenents arent rangers. Why should revenents have ranger level condi clear?
16. Anet has never implimented a new weapon for a class outside of the exapansion, and no underwater weapons for any classes even then. Its not going to happen, even if it was acctually needed in the first place, which its not.
17. Im okay with this.
18. Maybe, but boonstrip counters this completely, and does nothing at all vs powerbuilds.
19. This skill just needs a small debuff, the change you are suggesting isnt needed.
20. No need to lower cooldown at all.
21. Nope.

Edit: Looking again, im pretty sure that the OP is trolling. Maybe trying to use reverse psychology to try to get revenents debuffed?

While pure damage might have been the only viable thing in the past, at least people died. They’ve turned a complete 180, and I think it’s for the worse. I recall games where I went absolute glass thief,(zerker/pack runes with crit. strikes, deadly arts, and DD) and barely hit over 1k on stone heart eles with vault. When zerker auto attacks barely hit triple didgets, you know there’s a problem.

Thief Elite Spec Idea- Sabotager

LastLetter.7938

I do completely agree with you Mordeus about the class mechanic seeming bland, but I couldn’t even think of something new that wouldn’t be overshadowed by steal, with all the things It can do, so I made Sabotage something synergetic with steal traits instead.

However, I think that being able to prevent new boons on an opponent, turn enemy healing into damage, and accelerate condition damage on enemies it pretty unique, right? For sure, boon stripping, interrupting and condi damage is something that thief has always had as a class, but complete boon and healing denial is something that no class has.

Thief Elite Spec Idea- Sabotager

in Thief

Posted by: LastLetter.7938

LastLetter.7938

Hey all, we’ve never really had a true condition thief before, and I feel like since our last elite specialization was power based on an already power-heavy class, we could use one. Also, I interrupt fit thematically with this spec, and our current interrupt traits are quite weak and contrasting at the moment. Rifle is a popular idea on the forums for a new elite spec right now, and it could replace the axe possibly, if a lot of the abilities were much weaker, due to it being the longest range weapon on the most mobile class. Feedback is always welcome!

Class Mechanic-Sabotage
F3 skill- Envelope your target in shadow and teleport a set distance backward from them. This converts 2 boons into conditions on the target. Sabotage benefits from all steal traits but does not steal an item.
New weapon- Main Hand Axe
Cut / Cleft / Sever
Cut your foe, Tormenting them
Cleft your foe, Inflicting confusion.
Sever your foe, and rip a boon from them
Stealth attack : Guillotine – Lacerate 3 foes around you with a heavy chop from your axe, dealing massive stacks of bleed. Deal extra bleed stacks for each defensive boon on them(Protection, vigor, regeneration, aegis, resistance), and for each (2?) stacks of stability they have. Unblockable. Bleeds are high in number, but last a very short time, maybe 25 stacks?
2) Addling Smash
Strike your foe head with your axe, inflicting stacks of confusion, stripping a boon, and preventing them from gaining additional boons for 2 seconds. Blast finisher.
3) Stake and drive / Blade Shot
Axe / Dagger- Drive your dagger into your opponent with the blunt side of your axe. Inflicts immobilize while stripping swiftness and vigor. Deals extra damage if the target was moving.
Axe / Pistol- shoot the blade of your axe to cripple and torment distant foes, the aoe originating from the target. This attack instead inflicts the effect from Guillotine if you are in stealth.
Projectile finisher.

Heal Skill- Unseen Advantage.
Heal, and throw a crippling dagger at your foe while crippling yourself. Transfer conditions to your foe.

Utility Skills-Corruptions
Acidic conditioner- Throw a vial of corrosive acid at your foe, causing their damaging conditions to tick twice as fast for a brief time. Inflict Blind on yourself.

Smokescale Sac- Throw a smokescale sac at your feet, making a smoke field that you evade attacks in. When in this field, steal has a very short cool down. Inflict revealed on yourself. (a small time shorter than the end of the smokefield). Breaks Stun.

Bloody marionette- Throw and attach wires to your foe, automatically interrupting their next 2 attacks, and bleeding them as long as they are connected. Inflict bleed on yourself.

Cleric Corrupter- Create a field that moves with you which converts enemies healing into damage. Poison Yourself.

Elite Skill- Mark of Death
Teleport to your target and inflict them with Mark of Death. Enemies with Mark of death with initially be poisoned, weakened, made vulnerable, and intterupted. While marked, enemies who are moving will periodically receive torment, enemies who are doing actions will receive confusion, and enemies who are channeling will receive Bleeding and slow as they channel. Enemies who stand still will burn. Enemies who have no boons will receive these conditions twice as fast.

Traits
Standard Elite Spec Trait-Subversion Training
-You gain access to the axe, as well as corruption skills and the elite mechanic, Sabotage.

Adept Minor
-Cripple torments as well.
Adepts
-Corruption Skills have a lower cool down, and are unblockable.
-Interrupting will strip a boon and confuse your foe.
-Whenever you Convert or strip a boon on your foe, you leech life.
Master Minor
-Critically hitting a foe who has might will steal 2 stack of might from them.
Masters
-Enemies who are struck by stealth attacks will be slowed, and interrupted on the initial hit.
-Critical chance is increased for each unique condition on struck enemies.
-Enemies who are interrupted will be bled, and receive additional condition damage for some time.
Grand master Minor
-Apply a large amount of vulnerability to foes you steal from.
Grand masters
-Inflicting a foe with a condition will cure you of that condition.
-Each Time you inflict a new condition that the afflicted enemy does not have, gain a stacking buff that increases the duration of future conditions applied.
-Using a stealth attack with a melee weapon will shadow step you to your targeted enemy, then execute the attack. Using a stealth attack with a ranged weapon will strip a boon on the initial attack.

Edit:Oh, I forgot to mention-most of the abilities condition stacks and durations are left unsaid because I’m not sure how much would be too strong. Same goes for the icd’s on the traits and initiative costs/cooldowns.

Well? What do you think of it? Tell me what you like or don’t like about it, any responses are welcome!
