Guild Wars 2

I played the original Guild Wars for probably 6 years and for most of it was in a single guild for most of it, was an officer for four. We were really close, we knew each other personally and I was an officer for 4 of those years.

Well unfortunately none of them really upgraded to Guild Wars 2, so I quit playing pretty much instantly because it’s hard to have too much fun when you know nobody to play with haha.

So anyway, I would REALLY love to start playing again, but I basically deleted all my characters and want to start over. The last time I just picked a server based on the ‘name coolness’ and population, it was completely dead and the people that were there were really rude and angry.

So I’d like to get some sort of server suggestions + guild invite, so I can know that it’s at least a somewhat acceptable server before I dedicate a character to it.

P.S. I’m a 21 year old female, have lots of time to play. Very reliable, LOVE to help other players (once I get a hang of the game myself that is haha). Message me on here if you know a good server or guild to choose Preferably high+ population.

Hello! I’d played Guild Wars for about six years and was an officer in the same guild for about 4 of it. I bought Guild Wars 2 with high hopes, but not many of my guild members ended up continuing in the game and I didn’t really know anybody so I quit playing for quite a while.

I’m starting up again now and plan to play often, so I’d like to find a fun friendly guild to join. I care about friendliness and members much more than any actual stats.

I played gw2 only for a couple weeks when it first came out, and now I’d like to start it up again. The problem is that I know literally nobody who plays, but I know from my gw1 experiences that sometimes your guild / people you meet online can become some of the people you’re closest with.

Right now I’m on Gate of Madness…. and even though it’s an ‘extremely high’ population, I feel 100% alone most of the time haha. I can’t find anyone to help with events / do them with me, can’t find a single guild to join, much less a good one, etc etc etc….

Anyone have any advice? I know that the majority of the player base has probably moved out of the ‘starter zones’ so that’s probably part of the problem, but I would really like to have some guildies around to chat with / help/ etc.

Any advice / suggestions?

Okay background as quickly as possible lol.

Played guild wars obsessively for 4 years straight, was amazing at it and loved it. Them a friend swayed me toward wow. Found it a bit more versatile and it was fun to try something new, so that eventually won me over.

When guild wars 2 came out I was SO excited, but I only played for about 2 weeks before quitting. It was nothing like the old game is known and loved, and I was already built up in wow.

So now I’d like to start guild wars 2 again, but I’m debating whether it’s even worth it. Is there even a large community anymore? I’m on gate of madness at the moment and I feel so lonely even though it’s a high population server. Is there end game content that makes it worth starting the game?

It’s hard to get the motivation to start, because I have no clue what I’m doing and I don’t know ANYONE who plays anymore.

I was frustrated because I got so good at this game and invested so much time, and then they just rip it away and throw us into a new game that we have to learn all over again….

Anyone have any advice?

I have an HP that uses windows 8, and unfortunately every time I try to use my f keys in-game, it minimizes guild wars and opens some support thing on the actual computer. It’s pretty annoying considering I’m a Mesmer, so I can’t use any of my illusion skills. And since this computer is pretty new and I’ve never used Windows 8 before, I have no idea where even to begin with how to disable this (or if I even can?)

Can anyone help?? I really need to fix this.

WHY CAN’T I DO IT?

I can log into my account, download the game, and get onto everything else. However when I press play in the launcher it tells me I can’t log in because its a campus network… It’s not like I’m playing in class lol, and I can play every other mmo at school. Any idea what’s going on? I have a 3 hour break between classes and I would like to play..
