The issue is that this is pvp reward and by salvaging it you get raid currency.

Is it really too much to ask for people to not ruin the fun for those who are actually trying to enjoy season 5?

Apparently it is. Although I do think Anet need to accept responsibility for allowing afk/trolling etc to go unpunished and make it a priority to amend.

Every player at every level deserves a fair match.

Funny how NOW they’re saying the system is unfair after they got their top spots ousted. They had no problem doing this on alts clogging up the other spots for top 250 making it unfair for other players.

Ha! Bunch of hypocrites!

These so-called “pros” are full of it, with their cute little twitch streams. They’re ALWAYS the first ones telling the rest of us to “carry”, as if there is such a thing.

I gave these new leagues a chance; I thought they had potential, truly I did, but I guess nothing’s really changed. You got:

- pro-league players bribing
- alt accounts filling up the top spots on the leaderboard,
- broken decay system
- broken league placement
- players tanking placement games to shoot up the leaderboard
- broken matchmaking and rating system
- excessive focus on rewards and PvE players
- griefers as a result of said rewards

Most egregious are veterans, like myself, who played this game for years who have to scrap it out in BRONZE and are stuck there while others manage to luck out and secure a placement and don’t even bother to queue up. I thought the top was supposed to be “competitive”. It’s bass-ackwards.

The system is a JOKE. You get NOTHING playing fair and working hard. It practically ENCOURAGES you to exploit it to your advantage.

All of those are not true.
- broken decay system
- broken league placement
- players tanking placement games to shoot up the leaderboard
- broken matchmaking and rating system
Decay works as intended, you don’t play enough ypu get lower spot on the leaderboard.
League placement works based of MMR and MMR works just fine, as it have been, not only in this game, but also in others that use glicko.
Tanking plaement doesn’t help you shoot the leaderboard, you lose, you have to play more to get up again and more you have to play, less your rating adjusts.
From all this anyone can easily kitten that you clearly don’t understand anything and I can tell you, you being in bronze is only your fault, accept it. PvP in gw2 is a joke because of people like you. The rest is true though.

I bet they don’t have the stomach for it.

Decay doesn’t drop you lower, it places you lower on ladder. You still be playing with players around your MMR, same way as if you were in legendary, even if ladder says you are now in silver or gold.

Jeffies here we wanted to test out what smurfing on alt accounts would do to the leaderboard and it turned out duoqing during you placement matches was all it took to take the #1 and #2 spots.It’s worth noting that we took down plenty of top 10 proleague players during the placement matches that gave us way 2 much rating.
MAY THE BATTLE OF THE QUE DODGING ALT ACCOUNTS BEGIN!

Can we get screenshots of total ranked games played on those accounts and w\l ratio?

New pvp ring doesn’t show up in mystic forge and because of this can not be attuned.

Raw Skill Rating will never be given as a reward. If we had an accurate measure of match contribution based on stats, then it could get worked into the Glicko algorithm which would in turn maybe end up giving you more rating.

I think this is totally wrong.

The system should calculate your game performance and should give you a +x or -3 x mmr for top stats, based on your role.

I think you did a very good rework about new stats and you should put this in the performance player and mmr.

Evan, the matchmaking is not perfect and probably never will be, so I think players should have a way to save themselves from bad matchmaking, at least to contain the loss if they play well and get a bonus if they win the game. Maybe the contribution for loss can be higher dunno, but every player has only a 1/10 weight in 1 game, so you should promote some way to let them to advance better IF THEY PLAY WELL.

There is nothing more frustrating that see a single player who has 4 top stats+ and the rest of your team with NOTHING. And you lost the game.

Giving mmr as reward for top stats is a bad idea. MMR is used for matchmaking, and some one in your team will always get top stat, no matter how kitteny you and your team is. And there are a lot of roles that top stats don’t include. New top stat system is better then the old one. For example playing condi rev in season 1-4, I always had 3 top stats, conditions applied, boons applied and boons removed, just because I was playing class that was doing this constanly and is a feature of my condi build. In the end awarding MMR for top stat will make matchmaking less acurate than it is now, even if top stats meant something and it doesn’t mean that you are good or that you are even the best player on the team. MMR is not a reward, it’s a way to balance matches. Adding unpredictable variables to it will make matchmaking unpredictable.

I’m actually was surprised how good first 5 games were. From 10 games only 2 were because of bad players on my team, but on the other hand I won 2 times because enemy team was bad. And in the end I’ve been assigned to a gold league, wich is great for I’m an average pvp player. And now when there’s a leaderboard I have a reason to play more and improve my rating.

Matchmaking is not the problem.

Matchmaking may not be the problem but it is teaming us up with those people that have no business playing ranked pvp. I’m on my 8th loss in a row, last match 3 guys on my team decided to camp home the whole round, just cause.

Agreed. I think the best way to fix the “people problem” is to raise the minimum rank requirement. It’s rank 20 to play ranked and I think it should be bumped to at least 50 or 60. I’m only 47 myself and would be okay if I had to work my way up to play ranked even if they made it 70 or 80. If Anet decided to make people “earn” the right to play ranked the spvp environment would be a better place.

This woudn’t help. I’m playing mostly with rank 70-80 and still people do ridiculos thing in mathces.
