I needed to remake a character yesterday because I wanted to rename her, it was just a level 33 asura necromancer. I had brought the makeover kit into the inventory to jot down what her visual settings were, and I was going to put it back in the bank before deleting the character.
Apparently I forgot to put it back in the bank before going to character select and remaking the character. Now I’ve lost my makeover kit. I’ve come down sick and I’m not all there right now, is there any way I can get my makeover kit back?
Yeah, my plans to fraps everything on maximum graphics settings at 1080p with my own character and make a compilation video of the whole event is RUINED because now I have a huge event missing. I give up. I just freakin’ give up completely.
So tired of being screwed over.
Sigh, it was bugged on my overflow, I got the travel message hoping to maybe catch the real server’s event. Nope, treb is built, event already over. I missed it. Now I can’t go back to an overflow to witness an event I missed out on. I waited for this event and I completely missed it because my overflow was broken and the real server is already done, there was no hope for an in-between for me.
This is unacceptable. I was here, I was waiting, I waited 10 minutes past due for the event, and nothing. NOTHING. I didn’t get to see the event, I missed it entirely because of the problems with the game.
Since it was a one-time event, now I’ll never get to see or participate in it. Whatever cutscene there was, is not gonna be available to me because of this.
What now? I guess I go on with the rest of the event without knowing what actually happened? =/ So disjointed and broken…
I’ve been waiting a good amount of time for the largos “Fahd al’Eshadhi” to actually do something so I can complete this TIME LIMITED event chain. Considering the next phase begins tomorrow, I’m gonna miss out on whatever result this event chain has. It’s already almost 10:30pm my time, and the clock is ticking.
I dunno what I can possibly do about this? I’ve relogged like 20 times, trying to find an overflow where this particular NPC functions. I have yet to find one. He is failed on every single on I’ve been to so far. He just floats there, says some string of text about being formidable, and does nothing.
What gets me is, there’s barely anyone posting about THIS particular NPC. There were huge threads popping up about the asura or sylvari NPCs being bugged, but not many about the largos. So yeah, here’s one about the largos, I’ve waited hours now, I want to know if this is even going to be considered fixing before the event changes things tomorrow?
Or will I be one of the many who gets left out of whatever reward this chain has (be it item-wise or STORY-wise)?
So, I spent gems on a costume so I’ll have a permanent means to work on my Costume Brawl title after halloween. I picked a costume whose looks I like the best (I play all female characters, and this outfit looked the nicest to me).
Bad choice, it has nearly the worst set of brawling skills in the entire game, losing only to some of the Cauldron/Animal transformations (like plastic spider or moa).
Skill #1: You get rooted in place for like 3 seconds to swing a bunch of times. Thing is, if anyone is moving, you don’t hit ANYONE. Great against AFKers or people who ignore you or don’t see you maybe, that’s about it.. More oftehen than not, I hit them maybe once, but they dodge/move out of the way, get behind me, and unload on me.
Skill #2: YARR! I block hits for.. 2 seconds? The only redeeming part of the pirate kit.
Skill #3: You knock yourself down to do one hit of damage to someone who has to basically be hugging you. Great, they just beat you up while you’re on the ground for a LOT more damage than you can ever expect to have done to them. USELESS SKILL.
Skill #4: You put a cannon down. Also useless. The time it takes for you build the cannon = you’re KO’d. Even if I manage to build it, shooting it at other players doesn’t seem to grant me any points to my brawl score? Also leaves me vulnerable bigtime. Pointless.
Then we have completely OVERPOWERED costumes, mad king and boxing gloves comes to mind here. Mad King can move and use all their abilities, making it impossible to hit them with Pirate , but you take a lot of damage from them. Boxing gloves seems to permanently be blocking attacks. That is fair, how? Witch also can basically perma-block and when they use their melt move thing, they are not targetable and do damage to players (which is what walk the plank is SUPPOSED to do, I imagine, but it doesn’t?).
I regret spending money on the Pirate costume now, as it is completely useless in Costume Brawl. It’s not fun to keep attacking the air while everyone else can run circles around me smashing me to bits.
A) Sword swings should let us move while swinging.
B) Walk the Plank should make us untargetable, and do damage to a bigger area. Just like the witch melt thing…
C) The cannon’s hits need to count if it’s ever gonna be considered worth it.
I actually used real money for the purchase, since I don’t make enough in-game gold to counter the insane gem prices at the moment. I should have just bought witch or mad king.

You cannot currently harvest any cabbage in Harathi Hinterlands, because even though you can open the door… there is an invisible wall blocking any progress into the room.
This seriously affects players ability to gather certain ingredients needed in cooking, since these farms are the only place to get these kind of ingredients.
I am observing this on Tarnished Coast server.
When fighting in any major event, my sound randomly cuts out and I hear a random alarm sound forever. Now, when this happens, my client immediately crashes afterwards.
This crash cost me ANY CREDIT WHATSOEVER for taking part in an entire Tequatl fight. I was there 99% of the fight, literally my audio cut out and client crashed at the very end. When I log in, NO chest. NO karma. NO experience. NO coin. I died and have to spend coin to repair my armor (at level 80 repair price) for nothing because client crashes apparently forfeit any credit you get for fighting something.
My computer specs aren’t bad at all.
I have:
Asus Sabertooth x58 mobo
Intel Core i7 950 3ghz
6GB Crucial DDR3
1GB EVGA GTX 460 SE
Intel 320 series SSD 80GB (both OS and GW2 are on it)
Onboard Realtek Audio (does anyone buy sound cards anymore?)
Windows 7 Service Pack 1 64-bit
Audio Settings are:
Audio Device: Default Device (front realtek jack)
Sound Quality: Highest Quality
Music Interval: Center
Mixing Buffer Size: Lowest Latency
Mute when GW2 is in background is checked.
I dunno if this latest patch (as of about 5-10 minutes ago?) counted as ‘next patch’, but the Hylek skill point in Metrica Province by Loch Jezt survived maybe 10 fights and then stayed dead. Again. Just FYI. At least I finally got it anyways.
Why not just do a rolling restart of Metrica Province every 6 hours or something, give us multiple chances to kill the frog each day, instead of one chance once every week…
Or let us queue into overflow or something.
I wonder: are people on other servers having trouble with this? Is it JUST Tarnished Coast?
I am on Tarnished Coast at the same location, the Hylek skill point is dead, was dead sooo soon after the reset too. I have been waiting 3 weeks across multiple characters to try and get this stupid skill point, and failing.
Is there no way for an Arenanet Employee to issue a command to the server to reset a particular event or something? If not, the game really needs one. Either that, or ALLOW us to go into overflow by force so we can fight a freshened up copy of the skill point.
I’m not transferring servers just to get this skill point (which may be bugged wherever I chose to go) and risk either not being able to come back after 24 hours (full server) or them suddenly costing gems.
I don’t mind the frequency so much, just there’s too few lines for the game to choose from, so it’s just repeating the same one over and over usually.
I think the female should also be able to say lines the male says, and vice versa. That would already double the pool.
Would be nice to hear my female warrior capable of saying “Urge to kill, RISING!” or “Eat my dust!”, for instance.
I don’t know about events, but mob drops definitely get affected the more you kill.
I was killing skale in queensdale because I needed weak blood, for instance. At first I was getting the blood pretty common, but after about 5-10 minutes. No more blood, ever. I even tried moving onto drakes or bats or harpies, they didn’t even drop anything.
Seems if you hit the anti-farm code, it screws you out of getting drops from absolutely anything… at least in that same zone.
I really don’t like this anti-farming code business, because it’s basically telling me how I can play the game or what I can do with my time. With the trading post not always being up, I have to get my fine materials from SOMEWHERE.
Also, given the nature of the game, you’re supposed to.. by design.. run around, help out with all the events you see, and play the game as fluidly as you desire. If they put a limit on the # of events you can do like that, then what’s the point? What do you do then?
I only noticed this problem on the southern end of Lornar’s Pass.
I wanted my char slot TONIGHT. My friend was making a new character and I have no more slots to do that, and I wanted to level up with their character with a new necro. Now I can’t do that, they’re going to be far ahead by the time I get to have a character slot to play with. Bah.
Whatever, wasted my money. By the time they give back the slot upgrade it’ll be waaaaaay too late.
The entire reason I bought gems tonight was for the character slot upgrade. I waited hours for the Trading Post to even become available so that I could buy said gems.
Much to my dismay, the option to buy a character slot is removed. So, I bought gems for nothing? Is this a bug? Did it get moved to some other part of the UI?
I can’t even buy a character slot! It’s missing from the gem store.
Lorraine Human Female Guardian. I just really like the name. Made sure to get it the moment headstart launched.
Empathy Rose Human Female Elementalist. I saw the name Empathy in a punky webcomic used as a girl’s name, and I decided I liked it. Rose is a last name I tend to fall back on when I need one for naming a character. Used it for families in The Sims 3.
Odessa Dawn Human Female Ranger. Odessa is mostly known for being the name of various cities throughout the world, but I think it makes a nice girl’s name, too. The Dawn surname is actually a common first name being used as a last name in this case. However, you can say that, as a ranger, the dawn of a day is the start of their hunting adventure.
Estelle Grace Norn Female Thief. Estelle is another nice name I like. Grace is normally a common middle name, but I used it as a last name in this case. Just seems to roll together nicely.
Eternity Star Norn Female Mesmer. An exotic name to go with the female mesmer motif. I actually used the name Eternity when writing a story a long time ago. Star as a last name was just random, for lack of knowing what else to use. I didn’t wanna re-use Rose a bunch of times like I did in beta.
I wish Sigil of Speed still worked on critters. I used to be able to sigil a weapon with that and smack the rats and bunnies along the way for swiftness. That woulda been better than what we have now for Mesmers at least.
Also, ‘get to level 80 bro’? Really? So we’re just going to ignore those of us who still have mesmer at low levels and need this speed for , ya know, the low level content we need to level up through and complete first? Even if we wanted to dedicate our entire gear to movement (superior centaur runes), we can’t do that for 59 entire levels of gameplay…
By level 11, all other professions have some means of travelling quickly without going through absurd amount of trouble or insanely high cooldowns or otherwise just feeling sluggish 90% of the time. Mesmer doesn’t.
EasymodeX: You can laugh at us, spit in our faces, insult us, act like a prince all you want. Nothing’s going to change the TRUTH that you’re clearly ignoring for the sake of showing off how much of a sociopath you are.

At this point, I think this person is not only being arrogant and rude, but is trolling all of us.
I have a Guardian, “Retreat” is extremely useful for getting around, and it’s just one utility slot. Doesn’t require a target either. The GS’s leap ability doesn’t require a target and it has a fairly low cooldown and much longer distance than Blink does.

You’re the only one who thinks it’s ‘unreasonable complaining’, and throwing around insults and being cruel to others is never right. Forget this, I’m done dealing with jerks.
I don’t care if you think what we’re saying is invalid, unwarranted or wrong. It doesn’t justify your overall attitude, arrogance, and the way you’re treating people.
Clearly there is something amiss because there’s a lot more of us saying that there’s something wrong with one profession missing a movement passive that the others get in some shape or form (be it signet or trait..). You’re basically the only person disagreeing, but the problem is.. you’re being a huge JERK in the way you’re disagreeing. Every post you made so far insults others, aims to boost your own ego, and is throwing around pure sarcastic remarks as if you’re the best thing since sliced bread. Guess what buddy, you’re not. So cut it out.
Ok, I’m tired of the condescending remarks, the insults, the arrogance. Seriously, stop it EasymodeX. You’re not helping anyone at all.
Where did I say anything about water movement? Don’t even think about starting to belittle me like you did the others in the thread already. If you have nothing truly constructive to say, then go away because your arrogant attitude is not wanted or helpful.
It is kinda annoying to have to run at 0% bonus movement speed without being cornered into carrying a specific weapon combination. On all my other characters, I can trait a passive or signet a passive for at least 10% bonus movespeed permanently. This is especially terrible to watch with a Norn Mesmer, because even the movement animation makes it seem like you’re slowly tip toeing around the place rather than actually trying to get somewhere.
People here who come to this thread just to bash other players for complaining about it are completely disregarding the fact that may be we want to actually KEEP UP with our friends or allies we’re playing with, who all get to have movespeed passives EXCEPT us mesmer players. I’m getting tired of the blatant rudeness and bullying going around in this community, but whatever.
Mesmers need a movespeed passive like all other 7 professions. Why should your friends and allies HAVE to constantly wait on you because it’s impossible to keep up with a flat, permanent movespeed that you can’t get? Imagine a mesmer and thief trying to complete a map together. Thieves get a permanent 25% movespeed passive, Mesmers get zilch. That thief will just get tired of playing with the mesmer, the mesmer will probably end up giving up and changing professions at this point!
Out-of-combat Movespeed is a bigger advantage than people think. Time = money/exp. The faster you can get from point A to point B, especially on a map you haven’t unlocked all the waypoints on yet, the faster you can harvest resource nodes, the faster you can reach a dynamic event to actually get credit before it ends, the faster you can complete heart tasks which usually involve a lot of moving around.
Like someone else said in this thread, their friend was not only getting 100% completion faster, but was able to farm more and make more money or materials for crafting, easily able to outlevel and outprogress the mesmer in every way.

@Qaia: it’s not that it’s a onepiece, it’s that the pants are skintight. I’m sure she’s wearing panties underneath (unless your character is one of several known hollywood celebrities..)
I certainly am not lagging. I generally have very responsive controls and ability use. I do, however, run GW2 on an SSD, which makes loading times much faster than normal.
On my Norn Female Mesmer, Eternity Star, every single story mission I’ve done so far was missing voiceovers on random (usually the first) line of text in the cinematics, and sometimes even text spoken by NPC while running around/fighting. I would see their text bubble but no sound. I did notice this started occurring after the last patches we had last week.
Magician Legs, at least the level 14 version, has a skirt, and pants at the same time. Are you sure you didn’t just give the pants a flesh colored dye tone and mistook it for being nude skin?
This bug has ruined my norn’s entire story so far… =/ Since you can’t redo missions without starting all over on a character, I’ll never get to fully experience the voice acting now. Sigh.
I’m on a mesmer and it’s insanely hard to solo content since the class seems so weak at lower levels, so all this work for broken cutscenes that I won’t be able to revisit ever ever ever without losing all my progress on the character altogether. Even if Arenanet fixes this, it’s not like I’d be able to see the scenes again.

Killua: It’s not bad luck. The game literally only drops certain skins with certain stat prefixes. There is no such thing as a Strong Krytan Greatsword, or a Berserker’s Glyphic Edge. It doesn’t exist. If someone transmutes it otherwise, it can’t be traded or put on the trading post afterwards.
Go on the Trading Post and type ‘strong’ for all levels. Tell me if you ever see one weapon that isn’t generic or crafted. Even the crafted weapons are like… steel, iron, darksteel.. Same skin as the generic… but different shade of color..
I wish the red, green, and blue worlds at least LOOKED different. Using the same clipping layout, they could just change the textures and props and make radically different looking arenas.
Blue = Like it is now, snow on top, green meadows on the bottom. (Norn/Human area)
Green = Jungle look on top, beachy look on bottom (Like Sylvari/Asura area)
Red = Autumn look on top, brand/wasteland on bottom (Like Charr/Ebonhawke areas)
Other than the looks, the paths and mountains and bases/camps/towers/whatever would all be the same. At least you’d have a visual difference between the areas to tell them apart easier!
Why is it that every stat in the game on weapon drops has some sort of unique skin it comes with, EXCEPT for power?
Mighty, Honed, Strong, Berserker’s… all these that are dropped in the world have the same generic, crappy skin that the very basic whites do.
However, Precise/Penetrating (Precision/Critical based) have a really nice “Krytan” skin. Later on, so do the toughness/vitality sets (Resilient). Mending/etc (Healing Power/Vitality based) have an interesting thick, tribal skin. All the condition damage based ones (which also have precision later on) have either the really futuristic asuran “Glyphic” stuff, or the wicked lookin serrated steam look. I forget which, but one of these stat combos also gets a plant-like set of skins too from the world (on rares anyways).
However, if we want a weapon specced for POWER, we only get the generic ‘white item’ look, EVEN on the yellows (rare) drops!
Yes, I fully understand there’s transmutation stones. However, you only get so many of them before you have to spend a lot of gems on them, and every few levels you upgrade your weapons, you’ll have to keep using them (nevermind using them to maintain armor looks, which takes 4-6 of them, depending on if you hide your helmet/shoulders or not).
What I don’t understand is, why is it everyone BUT the power-speccers can go without needing transmutation stones just to have a non-generic appearance? It’s kinda unfair. Condition damage, Crit, or Tanky people can have a non-generic apperance out of the box without spending a single stone. Why do the power speccers have to spend a stone to not look like they’re using lousy whites?
The shine looks better… Your second shot just looks uber flat. Like there’s no 3D depth on the character at all. The shine shows the folds of the clothes, the bumps and creases in your skin, and so on to add depth. I like that effect anyways.
Without that shine your character just looks flat, depth-less, and very dark.
The one thing I want a separate graphics option for is the stupid colored outlines that appear on characters near you (the auto-target crap), it shows up EVEN if you hide the UI and DESTROYS good attempts at screenshots (especially if you want a shot of you standing next to a friend, NOT POSSIBLE right now).
I definitely agree. I put a lot of effort into my character’s faces and hair selection and I almost always hide helmets/masks in-game, and sometimes even the shoulders if they’re too crazy. However, on my character select screen, they look really wacky and I really wish I could just see their hair and faces like I can in-game. This really seems like a bug, as I cannot imagine ANY reason why Anet would intend on forcing the showing of helms and shoulderpads on character select when we can turn them off any other time, even in PVP.
