With the recent Update Anet replaced the RightShift Map Ping to a LeftShift Map Ping.
My problem with that is that i am partially disabled on my left Hand, so i use mainly the right side of the keyboard (Cursor keys and Numpad).
I always liked to use the (RightShift) Map Ping as an alternative Way of communication, but now its replaced and i have no way to change that Hotkey in the Options.
Its annoying to reach out to the far left side of the keyboard just to ping and its impossible to ping during combat for me now, which annoys me a lot.
I would like to have the RightShift Ping back, i dont really understand why its even removed in the first place, maybe there was a good reason for Anet to do that?
If so, i would like to know more about why it was changed.
There is no note in the Update Patchnotes about that, so i assume it is unintended?
Does anyone else has the same Problem? Or am I the only GW2 Player who doesnt use WASD?
Isnt the System supposed to find similar or Equal Ratings?
The link you provided (thx!) doesnt show the max/min cap of Rating considered to pair up Teams.
Those 3 Points in that Pic was the only time i got that low score.
On Average its mostly 13-15 pts.
I played with a Friend last night and he has a similar rating like me, but he got always 2 pts less than me on a win. Even if his rating is slightly higher.
Shouldnt it be the other way around? I should have less points than him because my Rating is lower….but i had still more pts.
This System gets very confusing to me…
Is there any detailed Explanation how exactly the System calculates the personal score at the end of a Match?
Sometimes i get 9 points, sometimes, 11, 13, 15, once i had 19….i dont have a Clue why.
But what made me open this Thread is this one u can see on the Picture.
How can it be that i get only 3 poor Points even if i got most of the top stats in the Match?
Is there any Site explaining exactly how this System works?
Any Help appreciated.
I am a dedicated PvP player and it hurts my PvP soul to see it being degraded so much.
Biggest mistake was the Duo queue (wanted by the Community, lets not forget that!) which was voted mainly by Forum users. Most of the ingame players didnt have any way ingame to vote at all…
The Consequence of this Change is very bad Match Quality. Im playing PvP since Release and this Season is flooded with Reward greedy people who dont care about Teamplay as long as they get their reward – Even playing bad doesnt prevent them to get tons of Rewards for – well – nothing literally.
So the Mentality in PvP went even more Toxic, since we can drop now in Divisions. Players who were not lucky in Qualification are being punished with bad Players and cannot influence Team quality at all, because we are forced to play as duo or solo with random people we cant pick.
All those Stats Anet added are useless for your personal rating, on the other Side they are great for better rewards.
So personal skill only influences the Rewards instead of the rating, like it should be.
I just had a match in which our team had a thief who just started to play the game two days ago.
After suggesting him to go unranked for practise he refused and answered:
" get best rewards in ranked, so i play ranked.."
He had almost 200 Account points and obviously didnt know what to do at all.
But hey, he will get his reward.
Now, i have almost 20 000 Account Points and i was paired with someone new to the game.
So Account Points dont count into rating.
I know that Account points dont show at all how good a player is, but it shows at least how much the player has seen of the game and you can expect some experience.
But in this matchmaking the system seems to put all in the same pit, no matter if good or not and the whole progrees becomes pure luck based, since you cannot influence who you play with.
Im very disappointed by this Season and if this system remains, ill stop playing this game.
In my opinion, Teamplay is a huge thing in a teambased PvP mode.
Removing the possibility to form a viable Team is the worst thing Anet could do to PvP Match Quality.
And the community even helped there…
There are almost no close matches anymore, most of them end with high Score Difference.
My goal in PvP in general is, to experience great matches, where no one knows whos winning until the very last minute….but thats gone now sadly.
The game is filled with toxic players, giving up, leaving, ranting, accusing, afking and so on.
Its not that it never existed before, but it was fed by this new system even more.
If people lose their Division, their Rage Level increases, and thus ranting is preprogrammed.
How about adding Account points, personal stats Aand win/lose rate into personal rating?
And PLEASE, return 5man Teams again.
A 5v5 Mode without forming a 5man team in a game that wants to be competitive and Esports is just wrong.
Splitting 5man Teams into 2man teams would be okay if Anet would create 2v2 Arenas….but they didnt.
The System wasnt fixed at all and Anet just manipulated the Community to accept the bad System with tons of rewards, which indeed calmed down many people.
But the system is still broken and Anet degraded it even more by adding Duo queues.
Randomizing PvP like this will chase away many loyal PvP players.
Save PvP before its too late!

I miss one of my favorite Traits in there!
Where is “Halting Strike” for Mesmer?
It was in Domination, now it seems disappeared?
Did you really remove it?
If so: WHY?
It was a very useful Trait and made Interrupts more satisfying.
Please dont remove that Trait!
Chronomancer can use Timeshifts to return to an earlier state of his skillbar (double Portal?), he can shorten Cooldowns of allies, with shield only he can block, stun and buff with alacrity. His Phantasms have 2 Lives, and so on.
This looks more powerful to me.
Im sure Anet will make sure that this whole thing gets balanced.
The Point of an Expansion is just new Content.
Im just concerned about balance because the Elitespecialization changes in each Profession will bring totally different playstyles, not only a few new skills.
Back then in GW1 the older Builds and Elites were still viable at the end of GW1.
Im just worried it wont be like this here anymore.
Chronomancer is definetly more powerful than a normal Mesmer, so this could bring up balance Discussions in the future, i guess.
They already stated that the Elite Specializations will not be more powerful than the normal ones.
If thats the case, why calling them Elite?
Elite Skills in GW1 were always a bit more powerful than normal ones.
Is this just some Prestige Thing? I would love to see Elite Specializations living up their names: ELITE and powerful^^

The Addon brings New Areas, new Enemies, a whole new Profession, probably one more Bank slot, character slot and maybe few bag slots and whatnot there will be.
Everyone gets the new Traitsystem, but only those with the Addon get the full playability for the old Professions.
Im just concerned about the Balance problems this may cause in competitive Game Modes, noting more or less.
I just hoped for a more refreshing way of thinking about Addons than it was back then in GW1.
People were almost forced to get all the Parts of Guild Wars to have all the skills.
On the other hand every GW2 player who still likes and actively plays this game, will buy the Addon anyways.
(edited by LeBub.9053)
If thats the case, then i dont like it.
Ill buy the Addon anyways, but it just doesnt look right.
I know that it was similar in GW1 , but i hoped for more Equality between Addon owners and non Addon Players.
To me it looks as if its going to be very difficult to seperate them in PvP.
There are a few questions bothering me regarding the Elite Specializations:
Will they be available to ALL Players in GW2?
Even those who decide NOT to buy the Addon?
I mean, it should be for every Player but its not really clearly stated (yet).
So, are the Elite Specializations part of the New Trait system and will they be available for all existing Classes with the Release of the Addon?
OR will the Elite Specializations be only for those, who buy the Addon?
If thats the case, how does Anet want to balance WvW and PvP?
Just checked wiki again and you are right, i was confusing it with the Spirit nerf.
But anyway, i hope u know what i mean by the reminder.
They should limit Minion/turret stacking.
I have nothing against Turret engis, but i dont like it when lazy people play it just because its easy to use and strong.
It should be more difficult to play Turret Engineer.
Same goes for all the other Easy going Builds like Power Necro, Hambow, PU shatter or Pew Pew Ranger.
Skill should be rewarded with effectiveness.
Making it easy to play AND strong just lures inexperienced Players to use these Builds, just because they dont have to learn much about them.
I am a total Engineer Noob, my Main Class is Mesmer.
But when i play turret Engineer, i have literally no problems surviving.
With a bit of timing you can even toss ur targets around like u want it.
It shouldnt be that easy.
But it shouldnt be nerfed into inefficiency as well.
Let SKILL be the main source of good and strong builds, and not easy to use Builds, which dont need any practise to master them.
Anet should remember a nerf back then in Guild Wars 1, when the mm and the spirit Ritualist stacked their minions.
Anet nerfed the max number of casted minions in an area.
Maximum minion count was 10 per mm.
But as soon as another minion master comes into a certain range, both MM`s minions are reduced to an overall max number of 10.
Each mm had only 5 minions.
For Turret engis that would mean that its impossible to stack up more than ONE turret of the same kind.
Burning and Chill should also affect turrets.
As well as a small change to overriding them.
How about making them override only once?
Make the override a tad bit stronger, but only ONCE usable.
After triggering the override, the turret explodes after a period of time.

Just tested the new FoV.
Its better than before, but it needs to be much better!
According to Arenanet the FoV was 75 before.
Now it should be 85, but its not, its 75, so before it was 65.
I added 3 Screenies to show the huge difference.
The first one shows the old FoV.
Second one shows the new FoV.
The third one is forced to FoV 90…
You can see for yourself how its “breaking” the Art in GW2, like Anet says…
A FoV 85 or 90 minimum would be good as a universal FoV.
It would be much better to add a slider to have the choice betwee, lets say 75-90 FoV (just like it is in HalfLife 2 nowadays, dear Anet;)) and a lot of Players will be pleased, even myself:P
