good change to symbol of swiftness but can we have pure of voice removes 2 condi back?

I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for that one.

  • How is the change to symbol of Swiftness any good? So many classes move much faster then Guardians. If you want to nerf this, give us an Adept trait, that gives us flat 25% movement spead, like Warriors have it.

In many cases the symbol of swiftness change is actually a buff and not a nerf. Currently it will only apply the initial large portion of swiftness if the target does not currently have any swiftness on them. If they have swiftness on them or after that first pulse it will then add 1 second of swiftness per pulse. This is very awkward and clunky.

The change makes the spell apply a consistent 4 seconds of swiftness per pulse without the strange hidden mechanic. Basically. if you already have swiftness on the people which you using the symbol on or if you take the time to stand in the spell for the full duration then it will just be a buff. =)

This change will make many guardians annoyed and then really upset (and why do that if it doesn’t really affect balance?).

Using your own words to address the reason for the change (why not to change it) —-—-

“This is very awkward and clunky” —-—- having to…… “take the time to stand in the spell for the full duration then it will just be a buff”

People don’t want to sit in a stationary symbol to gain swiftness to move faster —-— it is counter productive and poor time management to do so – for moving from point A to point B.

PLEASE keep it the way it is – thank you.

Adding Skins onto Legendary Weapons

If you prefer another “skin” over the legendary weapon skin – can you still add it?

I assume you retain all the legendary stats like adding skins onto other items – but the big question is will you loose your “foot-print” effects that legendary weapons give you?

Locking your Vault

Like to add a suggestion about Locking your Vault.

Each vault space holds its own “max” amount of items (like 250). It would be nice to right click and lock that particular vault slot (prior to its max holding) to prevent “auto-deposits” from going to your vault if you don’t want them to.

The big reason for this is Mini’s. I use mini’s but I don’t want them to go to my vault when I do an auto-deposit of all my items into the vault. This way people can have more control over their inventory.

Per the Wiki (and like other professions ally buffs at 150) —-—-


Nearby allies gain up to 150 toughness based on your effective level.

This trait was changed in the June 25th, 2013 patch. The toughness at level 80 was increased from 70 to 150. This change was not featured in the patch notes

Playing a tournament 5v4 is the lack of leavers/afkers report function and the dishonorable system which was datamined so it’s pretty close. It is also the consequence of not having a separated SoloQ from TeamQ.

I also think buffing that sigil is just pidgeonholing everyplayer to use it so it’s not a feasible solution. You fix the problem from it’s root not by finding a workaround that would only agravate the problem on the long run.

I also read the data mined info about the dishonorable system. It is an improvement and it will help – but it doesn’t solve the un-balanced problem still. My solution above (in original post – OP) will still work better to solve the 5v4 problem in conjunction with the dishonorable system. People will still go Link Dead or get Real Life Agro, etc… and with the dishonorable system you will still end up with a 5v4 in a particular match.

As far as the Superior Sigil of Generosity and Purity (reducing its cool-down) – yes it would be a popular choice but then not everyone would roll condition spec’s like they do now (and then the sigils would be less popular – and it would balance out) —-—- thus problem solved.

Just stop please. This isn’t even remotely about Tournament. This is about you, and the hotjoin heroes trying to balance a casual feature that offers way to many rewards for the effort spent. Auto-balance all you want, people will still zerg because they are farming glory/rank there.

Hotjoin’s rewards are the cancer of PvP.

And the value of your post is??? —- Get real please.

Do you still prefer to play out a tournament that is 5v4 ???

You don’t think adding Superior Sigil of Generosity and reducing the cool-down on Superior Sigil of Purity to 5 sec would improve tournament balance ???

Come up with your own ideas as well (ideas don’t have to be profession specific to affect game balance). — Thanks.

the last time i tried purity sigil the effect seemed very meager. procs were pretty rare.

They actually worked great as an alternate means of condition removal without needing to invest in condition removal traits and heals (until conditions became more and more rampant). Now they are not as effective – but if you reduced the cool-down to 5 sec and added in the Superior Sigil of Generosity then people would again have an alternate way to control conditions.


Please post your ideas. I know everyone is focusing on comments from the new patch but there are other ways to balance sPvP besides just individual profession changes.

Great suggestion ArcTheFallen (above). There should be more than just glory as a reward for playing out each match. I am surprised that no one has commented on the use of the Sigil of Generosity to help balance out the over-abundance of conditions now in the game.

The fix to the autobalance is the most kitten kitten thing I’ve ever read. Yeah it sounds great to make someone unable to play because the kid that just got killed left the game, forcing “spectator-balance”.

So you think it is better to force people to play in a team that has less people than the other team because someone on their team left? How about the fact that many people join on the team that has the highest score in a balanced game (making it even more unbalanced against the team that is currently loosing – causing even more people to drop out.). In 5v5 matches or tournaments – being down a person (5v4) is even more dramatic creating a large unbalance in the game (many would rather forfeit the entire match which wastes everyone’s time).

Why do people keep making posts about balance in Hot-join? It’s just meant for kitten -ing around, it’s not meant to be serious.

If you want to be serious then make a serious post please. Hot-Join is part of the game. The tournament systems works fine as is (even though they are working on it more). My auto-balance FIX and conditions FIX would help balance tournaments too however.

List your TOP 3 Ways to Balance – sPvP (applicable to both Tournament and Hot-Join):

1) Equal Team Sizes – Balance

The current Auto-Balance system is not sufficient to balance teams. All it takes is one additional person on one team over the other to throw the game out of balance. FIX Once one team has one more than the other team then it auto-balances one person on the larger team to spectate mode. In order for a person to join a balanced game there must be TWO people available to join from spectator mode. The first person in spectator mode can decide the color they wish to join. The second person must then join the other color (and they both enter the same time) — This way the game always has equal numbers.

2) Equal Ranked Games – Balance

The current system of being able to pick ANY server for hot-join matches mixes high ranked or experienced players in with low ranked or inexperienced players FIX Only have four options (and not be able to pick any server). Only have the Play Now option (the game will need to filter people going into the game by their rank so higher ranked people only go into higher ranked games). The second option available should be able to join a match with your friends from the contact list (as it does now). The third option should be to pick a 8v8 or a 5v5 match. The fourth option would be to pick a specific custom arena.

3) Conditions – Balance

The current amount of conditions available and being deployed with the new traits has gone too far (but not by much) – however – Condition spec characters (if spec’d offensively) still need to be able to down people fast like burst spec characters (if spec’d offensively) FIX Only two simple things can be added to fix this – available to everyone but not nerfing condition spec characters at the same time. One – Add Superior Sigil of Generosity (from the PVE sigils) to the available sigils. Two – Reduce Superior Sigil of Purity cool-down from 10 sec to 5 sec (since everyone would pick Generosity first anyway over Purity if they have the same cool-down).
