so if i go back to play this game and go into explorable dungeons i will see some advanced boss tactics?

thing is, i don’t like tank and spank. i remember killing zone bosses like that swamp dragon thingy in one of the southern zones and what it basically was, to my disappointment, was tank and spank.

same with most bosses if not all. sure you can slap some odd machanic here and there but its all the same in this game and i think its because everyone can do everything in this game.. maybe thats the price we pay, i dunno…

any changes in that department?

so you would say that if im looking for fun pve with raids, challenging and unique and fun boss tactics and stuff like that i should look somewhere else?

what is the end game of this game supposed to be anyway? pvp focused?

long story short, i somewhat quit this game a few months ago once i killed zaithan or w/e his name is, since i got so disappointed.. for end game content it was as lame as it could get.

the boss tactics were pretty much not there. tank and spank for most if i recall, forgive me if i missed something like throwing a rock at them when the time is right…
sure there were other issues but what i really miss from mmorpgs are the RAIDS! dungeons filled with bosses with complicated tactics that required studying b4 attempting.
wow had it but after so many years you get sick of the same thing… or at least thats what my dad told me when my parents got divorced

what im trying to ask is, its been a few months since the game was released.. how is end game PVE nowadays? dungeons are hard with exciting boss tactics and stuff?
fun? anything?

im from israel too and am having for over a week now massive lags all the time. very unplayable.

for now im just studying and playing dark souls (prepare to die edition), torchlight 2 and borderlands 2… i can manage without guild wars 2, i just WANT to play it.. seems illogical not to help :\

the carlton dance, by itself, is good.. it just looks rlly bad ingame. the techno viking dance, at least, would seem cooler :\

tried it now, sunday morning. lags lags lags lags LAGS. unplayable.

i haven’t played for almost a week now, i think, because of this. seriously, if arena net can’t bother to help me then maybe i can’t be bothered to support their games.

only happened to me in GW2 and i have since then uninstalled all drivers and installed the latest ones. to no avail, might i add.

i’ve been having the same issue, kind of.. it looked less buggy and just made the geography transparent. im actually surprised you managed to take a picture since when i try to do it, it just takes a pic of the game normally as if there is no bug.. very annoying.

rasputin dance was pretty epic :P tho i’d still prefer a techno viking for obvious reasons.

now that you mention it, i have been playing only during the night lately.. does it lag more often during the night?

since day one, or should i say day -3, i have been playing your game. since that day i have been suggesting any honest and thoughtful ideas i have that could make your game better so it will last as much as possible and spread as far as possible.

SINCE THAT DAY, i have been reporting any bug i encounter in the game, tho if i see people already complaining about it i either not report it again or comment on their thread. not once have you commented on these threads. NOT. ONCE!!!!! trying to be an optimist i said to myself that maybe you just read it and passed it forward but didn’t feel the need to comment. well now i have this issue, be it bug or not, that causes me the inability to play your game anymore.

because of that i have made my plea, so you could actually help me fix it and make it possible for me to play once more, but seeing that you continue to show the same attitude reveals to me the basic fact, which is:

you don’t CARE about any of us. none of us!
we try to help you and you ignore us. we report bugs and you ignore us! we submit tickets and you ignore us! it has become clear to me what is your true nature, and i see now that the only way to get some assistance is if i would actually PAY you to come down from your high horse and give some of your precious time to help one of your COSTUMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this supercilious behavior has no place in a business and it disgusts me.

i have no idea what made me so deluded to actually think i would get any help from you, and i have lost my faith in this company.

i checked with Frankfurt Germany and its about the same, ping didn’t pass that 80 zone while download was above 20 and upload was the same speed. so theoretically i should be running pretty smoothly if not smoothly but it just ain’t the case. and i’m in EU server i triple checked.

i doubt its my firewall since i’ve been using the same kitten thing for about 2 years or more now and it never gave me that problem, and i’ve been playing since 3 days b4 the release like many people here and only rarely it happened (usually it was because of the server tho).

this is just frustrating im having major lags that makes me unable to play, and i try to comfort myself by asking people in the area if they have lags too and they say no so its like a double “fu<k!!”

im starting to feel like i got no choice but to quit :\ shame.. got to 80 and everything…

for a long time now, and its ONLY in GW2, i’ve been having a very high ping or latency what ever you want to call it.. u press one, and it takes like 2-6 seconds to activate the skill. when i enter combat its like a boss fight every time, rlly unplayable.

was wondering if its just me or if i can do something to fix it. i even moved server and all to no avail.

edit: i attached a pic of a speedtest i did, if it helps. i can go well over 25 most of the time i think.. i got 100mb connection but im using this thing that connects me through the electric wiring in the house or w/e.. doesn’t matter! but it shows my speed is fine.

my suggestion beats all!

opened one of the vegetable race as an alt, while in the dream i couldn’t represent.. but once i got out, i could.

as expected no comments or anything, from neither the players or from Anet, so ill just bump this myself til’ some1 sees.

dunno why i bother, this is like my 4th bug report and no response or anything but w/e.. if it would help than ill do it.

i keep seeing through objects, not chairs and stools or w/e, im talking about mountains and walls and buildings. when i try to take a picture of it it snaps back to normal for a few seconds and sometimes it goes back to being transparent or goes back to normal.. for a time.

at first i thought that it might have something to do with camera angle but who knows, i have no tech knowledge to back that up.

i want the techno viking so bad at least give us a response, Anet!!!!

btw, i fell inlove with haka, its rlly badazz :\ but in the game (and any game.. yeah im looking at you LoL!) it doesn’t do it much justice because:
1) it is done alone.. you can’t do a haka alone, it looks silly.
2) no sounds. part of the haka is the sound. the body slaps, the chant.. so all you get is awkwardly looking charr

it seems we have reached a consensus regarding the weapon skill bar.. haven’t expected such an agreement but i guess its something many have noticed.

be it more skills to pick or a different idea, at least we agree that in the future something will have to happen with that..

its a basic idea that the devs can play with and use as see fit, but yeah…

so many would agree that techno viking for norn would be ace, at least for males.

what is important to note is, while we ask for the above we are not saying that as a result of not having this thing the game will suck or be worse, but its just a welcomed improvement.

the in-game swap is something i am aware of so yes, you get 10 weapon abilities plus the healing one, 2-3(think it was 2) skill points depending on race/class and one elite skill slot that depends on race/class, so in theory we got about 15 abilities.

all that is true, BUT its not personal enough.. traits are something personal because you put points as you see fit instead of going to the web and look for the best build (something that will change sooner or later or already has been, but you get the point)

the class abilities, you won’t see THAT many people walking around with the same abilities which i find cool. you walk around, seeing another warrior with more buffs than you so you know he is using a different skill set and he seems to be doing pretty well and you wonder if his skill set is better than yours.

weapon skills however? every 2h sword warrior will have the same abilities.. doing the same thing. its… stale.

just a thought that would make things more interesting.. have more abilities per weapon and let the player pick what he wants. only 5 abilities per weapon ain’t much considering you pick your fav weapon and then play with it for the rest OF YOUR LIFE so yeah.. things can get repetitive.. at least with more abilities you could spice things up a bit.

now why would you kick a kitten

just do it! i want a store where i can buy new dances. be it a dance vendor or on the gem store.

not just rush and not just giants. using a charge ability like rush (warriors) on a giant mob (like a giant…) will cause you to run all the way to the mob but instead of stopping and hitting it as intended, you just continue to run in your place once you reach to the giant, and once the bar is finished you don’t even hit it.

what more, if you did use the ability on a giant not only will it do nothing and just run until the timer is over, but you won’t be able to stop! you can’t dodge, you can’t pick a different ability.. nothing. like 4 seconds of doing nothing.

so in conclusion: you use rush on a giant. you run all the way to the giant as intended. once reaching the giant, as if hitting a wall, you run in your place without moving, and once all this is done you don’t even do the finishing hit.

FIX IT!

and i have to say that underwater combat is bugged as hell. its a bug that happens so often that im sure not only 100% of all the people who ever played this game have experienced it, but im sure also the people who work in this company and played the game have experienced it.

you pull a mob underwater, doesn’t matter where you are and where they are, you can be inside their belly for all they care, 50-50 chance they will reset at some point and walk away. this happened to me while i was fighting 2 mobs and a veteran mob next to a challenge point. you know how frustrating it is to get a veteran to 10% while fighting another 2 when the veteran walks 2 feet away and resets back to 100%, turns back to you and says “oh its on, b****!”

ill make this short, and explain why its needed, why the company would want it and why the people would love it:

1) its pretty weird that everyone dance the same.. all norns dance like carlton, all charrs dance like… tribe people.. all humans dance awesome.. but its weird! dance is something more personal and is a matter of taste. a varried dance from one player to another could not only immerse yourself in the world but also make you even more unique than the other players out there, something that ANY mmo usually lacks. true, its on the minor scale.. but its the minor things that make the difference.

2) MONEY!!!!! companies love money and lets not delude ourselves.. arena net wouldn’t mind having some. so offer dance moves (to unlock more dancing types) on the black lion market thingy for gems and that way people would pay money, yes actual real money(!!) for more dance moves. lets face it, if you saw a really cool dance move on store, chances are you would buy it if dances means something to you and it was rlly cool and matched your taste.

3) taste. immersion. personalization. after about 80 levels you and your character become pretty close and you start to see it as a unique thing in this world.. well.. as unique as it can get. but its YOUR thing. so you color it the way you want, you dress it the way you want (you can pick the model of the gear in many ways, even buy models) so why stop there? you hate the current dance? you wanna dance like the other races? WHY NOT?! go buy new dance moves on the store and be even more unique and make your character as thing you envision it and what you want it to be.

tl:dr: make it available to buy dance moves so you can do other dances because a lot of people hate the current dances and would actually pay real money to change it, as long as its cheap enough (its just an emote after all, no need to pay above the dollar price)

just watched a video of all the dances (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hk0xZqUuNNk) and its like this:

humans – shuffle. looks pretty good, pretty cool.. fits with the race somewhat.

norns – carlton dance.. when he does it, its good and looks funny and stuff. when the player does it… not so much. also part of what makes the dance good is carlton moving around the room, and stuff. if it fits the race? NO! its pure silly and the dance rlly doesn’t fit norns.. maybe humans. so IMHO the dance is kinda horrible

charr – maori haka… umm.. yeah thats kinda lame i admit. barely a dance. but it fits the race at least :\

asura – the robot.. fits the race, not that horrible looking but kinda stale. especially without the music.

sylvari – bhangra dance? well yeah thats just terrible. without the music it looks like the player is having a seizure or something.. not sure it fits the race.. probably not.. not sure what is this dance either tho :X

so.. it looks like we need to upgrade some of the races with a new dance :P maybe offer ppl the chance to buy new dance moves with the gem store and stuff. MONEY!!!

so i made a badazz norn warrior, thinking about the great vikings and all that.. and it looked awesome and all, i was happy.

then i typed /dance and let me tell you something…
now, i realize its a dance emote and its for fun and stuff.. but there is a difference between silly that is funny and kinda cool that actually FITS the race, and there is silly that makes you MAYBE laugh once from how pathetic it is, and the rest of the time get ticked off from not having a cool dance while your friends do a /dance party and looking cool (humans have the freakin shuffle, man!!!)

i can’t even /dance without ppl laughing at me and if i wanted to dance while ppl point and laugh, i’d go dancing in real life!

now, im sure a lot of people (Who are norn) will agree with me, so im making this as both a petition to remove the current dance, and also a suggestion thread so ppl can post their dance videos as a suggestion for a replacement.

wouldn’t be surprised if the asura or at least a rogue asura scientists did some genetic experiments on skritts to make them smart even when alone, on par with humans maybe.. an easy solution for the soloing skritt hero :P

but yeah, a good skritt is a dumb one.

its nice to enter a fantasy world and actually talk with other people WITH YOUR MOUTH instead of engage in a writing session, sure. i can see why you would want it.

i’m only afraid of 6 year old kids who run around screaming in high pitched voices

a gambling hub would be awesome, especially since its kinda hard to get money in this game. would be much more satisfying to win some money and much more devastating (yet addicting) to lose your money.

a match of throwing darts would be cool, you have the mechanic with ballistas and cannons (1 to aim left 2 to charge the shot 3 to aim right)

a beer drinking contest would also be fun, god knows it exists in the game in the order of whispers chain.

it may not be a solution but what i do is put all my salvaging kits on my first 4 slots in the bag that way i always know where they are and i can easily click on them again.

no.. if i have the camera would move wouldn’t it?
