I’d like to add my voice as well. I’m in the same situation – want to purchase sales items but don’t yet have my gems. Soon I’ll have to go offline for sleep, and when I wake up everything I wanted will no longer be on sale.
Omg on point 9 I really had a truly negative flashback to reverse crafting in that Star game you mentioned -shudder!
In my opinion this is still the best MMO on the field. They have a long way to go to keep up with the unending demands of their players, however. But I feel they listen and truly care. Correcting MF gear brought me back into this game and I am having a blast since rejoining! It is very encouraging to see the devs working to correct fundamental game flaws.
Thank you Guild Wars for an awesome game! I could say more, a lot more, but I’d rather just get back to the game!
I struggle with this question myself. At this moment I think trying to convert karma to gold is just a bad deal and I am holding out for a better return in the future. Obsidian shards, exo’s if you need them., or any other crafting mats you need in the moment is what I spend karma on.
Farming Rich Iron nodes has become very profitable. Day 1 it will take some time to find all of the areas, but after that it is smooth sailing. They change up weekly I think. You can also grab orichalcum, ancient logs, lemongrass and vanilla beans. Some areas have just ridiculous mat farms like Brisbane Wildlands.
If you own a Legendary you haven’t won anything. There is no “own a legendary” contest.
If we’re going to subjectively create a set of assumptions to validate our arguments then the answer is almost any game, certainly any MMO, is pay 2 win because I could just buy an account.
I would say definitely not. And I think anyone that has played truly P2W games would have to agree. I feel like people are using P2W here far too loosely to make their point. But as these arguments are so obviously subjective I don’t think they accurately describe the game.
So agree on the blue mini’s vs. the exotic one. I would gladly trade one of my spare Mini Reef Riders for the Lord and Lady – can we have this option please?
I have to agree with the posters here and would like to know what Anet has to say about this. I’ve not spent gems on crates, but after hours of farming I can say, with the drop rate being so low, that for most players tickets will just not happen. Worst still, even if you do shell out cash for gems on crates there’s no guarantee. And this is for a timed event. It’s Halloween all over again.
Worst for me is I just want a Kasmeer – and that thing is suppose to be just a blue – isn’t that like common??? I have 4 mini reef riders and they’re exotic…
To OP, you to would only ever go offhand sword if you build for condition damage. If that were the case, you would probably want MH sword as well. Even if you stack +cond, OH sword is really only good againt single targets while OH axe gives you solid aoe swings.
Re: axe burst and sword burst… the MH sword burst , imho, is so much better. If you +cond, it’s really a no brainer. But even if you don’t, MH sword burst is still good for a number of reasons. First, it’s aoe and in any crowd situation it will out damage axe burst. Secondly, MH sword burst only needs the first level of adrenaline to max damage -the adrenaline only affects the immobilize length. Third, you can’t underestimate MH swords immobilize effect. In many combats keeping mobs together is the primary goal when you are attempting to burn down many foes as a team and MH burst is awesome at keeping foes clumped together.
Just some thoughts… it’s really all about the stat build and the situation you’re facing.
Did this tonight with a PUG – we did very well, but it still took as a long time to get through. I only died once… I was crushed by the mechanism (I didn’t know about it!) in a spot with no rez hope and no escape.
The three golems were a pain. I did not enjoy that fight at all. It wasn’t difficult. I don’t think anyone died during the entire encounter, but man was it time consuming.
Final boss however was one of the best I’ve seen so far – and the easter egg when he goes down is priceless
Just completed the map for Cursed Shore. And my crafting mat reward for finally exploring the games ending zone? 40 Orichalcum? 40 Ancient Wood? Nope. Not even 20 Omnomberrys… 20 Lemongrass, worth about 15c a piece. As opposed to the “max” possible reward which would currently be 40 Orichalcum which sell for close to 4s each on my server. Do the math, the RNG hosed me for accomplishing a major goal.
This is too unbalanced for my taste and seems an easy fix. Can we at least get map completion rewards, which is a major time-consuming accomplishment you can only do once, to be somewhat consistent?
I’ve not skipped any Vista animations. I actually will sometimes spend time adventuring for a perfect view of the landscape. It really is an amazingly gorgeous game!
As for jumping puzzles – sometimes I walk away if I’m not in the mood to jump. One of my best experiences in the game was when I was attacking a cave bat and it ran from me and while chasing I fell down a loooong hole into a strange cave that ended up being an amazingly fun (and slightly frustrating) jumping puzzle. I refused to waypoint of the zone, demanding and pushing myself to complete.
Great stuff
Simply put: place some kegs in the courtyard and the mobs will stay busy clearing those up instead of cleaning up kegs at the gate. Also, they’ll be too busy carrying kegs to attack.
When crafting precursors to Legendary weapons must you use 4 of the same type of weapon (dagger, greatsword, longbow, etc.) or can you mix multiple weapons for a random weapon precursor?
Also, if so can you also mix in rare armor with weapons and still have a chance for precursor?
