I got my karka chest this morning. Thank you A-net for finding a solution. :-)

I’ve had problems with Catalyst, which is what I initially used to update my graphics driver.

Instead, I went to the Device Manager in the control panel and right-clicked on my graphics card (under Display Adapters). From there I clicked “properties” then “drivers” then “update driver” then had it automatically find the driver for me. Worked like a charm.

Just mentioning this if Catalyst isn’t working for you.

I had a problem with my wireless network before- when a computer upstairs was online, I could not connect; and if I was online, the PC upstairs could not connect. We had someone come and fix the network problem, and it’s been ok since then. Not sure if that’s the issue, but Maazoc’s reply reminded me of that.

I just got a new keyboard & pc, and can’t seem to fix this. I keep seeing the letters A and E with the accent over them (sorry, not sure what it’s called). It doesn’t happen when i’m typing, otherwise I’d press shift+ctrl to fix it.

Please see the attached screenshot. It appears in places like my crafting interface and in-game e-mail. In the attachment, see Caithe’s signature. In the crafting window, see the “Insignias” section.

Keyboard language was set on English (Canada). I tried setting it to English (US) but that didn’t fix it, even after rebooting. Can anyone please help me fix this?

I agree that they were filled with garbage. I don’t think i’ll be buying the seasonal “chests” anymore. Other stuff maybe; but not the chests.

Even with all of the tech problems, I still managed to complete the event and get the chest twice. If you couldn’t even get it once, then you didn’t try very hard.

I am shocked that you would say such a thing. Are you aware of how many people “tried very hard,” including myself, for 2+ hours and got disconnected; resulting in no loot? The motivation for participating in the event was that chest at the end, otherwise, why would anybody do it?

As for having fun: when more than two hours of someone’s time is wasted, it is no fun at all.

You had jobs to do? Then quit your job and do what counts, get exotics in this event/game. Its a GAME, guys.

The issue for the people with jobs/RL places to be, is this: an event like defeating the ancient karka only happened once. There’s no reason why it can’t be repeated over a period of days, just like other special events (or even world events, like dragons). The Halloween event was spanned over a period of a week, and everyone had a chance to enjoy all aspects of it.

I also crashed- that has to be the worst event I have experienced. My motivation for the entire 2 hours of gameplay was the chest loot at the end.

When I logged back in, I got placed in some random overflow and could not resume the event. Wow, and ouch.

Anyone should be able to log in at the same computer, as long as they have their own account (log-in name and password).

I didn’t get banned. In WoW though, I had a character name with a variation of the word “gas” in it (hint: starts with f and ends in t). I got my name auto changed by Blizzard. Fair enough, but like you I thought it would be ok because there was an emote where you can, er, pass gas on someone.

Ah well, a learning experience. ;-)

Another option could be a game mode, in the interface, that accomodates color-blind players. I remember seeing such an option in another mmo, i just don’t remember which one.

However, I do like the idea of the red circles being bright yellow.

I can understand, based on the terms of agreement, why action was taken.

However, a 3 day suspension IMO is overboard. A prompt for a name change should be enough. A 3 day suspension sounds like something fit for repeat-offenders.

Stuck on loading screen to Lion’s Arch as well. Tried relogging, and it goes to the same loading screen. :-(
